Nehru was selected as PM only as an interim arrangement.
One must know that in Democracy, nothing is final. He was made Prime Minister till the things are settled and the general elections are conducted.
Further MK Gandhi knew from the reactive behavior (body language of Nehru) when he pointed out to Nehru that no provincial committee has proposed his name. Despite of this Nehru did not withdraw his candidature but unhappily left the room.
Thereby, MK Gandhi could foresee that Nehru would divide Congress, and at that crucial time to see the bifurcated Congress means the weak Congress, and it would be easy for Jinna and British and all other dividing forces, to divide the rest portion of India further. In view of this, MK Gandhi had discussed this matter with Sardar Patel and took assurance that Sardar Patel would see that the Congress remained united.
One must know that Nehru had a socialistic group within the Congress, though Nehru had no majority support from the High Command (made of the members of central working Committee of Congress).
Now suppose Sardar Patel had been made PM, then he had to give some big portfolio to Nehru. The next big portfolio was Home Ministry. Now you must know Nehru was very weak in administration. He was not capable of tackling the kingsley states. Even when he was given a J&K kingdom he played blunder, which till today we are suffering. Now imagine how would have he handled other 550 states which fall under Home ministry?
There by I feel that MK Gandhi's decision was OK at that moment. Why nehru could continue? because Gandhi and Sardar died early.

Sardar Patel's dream of prosperous India was broken after his death. He took agreement from extremist and harmfully divisive RSS , that they will not indulge in to politics, before lifting ban on them in 1949. With time all the extremists from RSS took over political places with the another name BJP. and its party is contesting elections in the name of religion. Sorry to see Sardar's India could not last longer after him.

In your approach to this video essay, I find it half hypocritical because your narrative it felt like it has lost its convictions in defining Nehru. As if you are trying defame him. Patel could have been our first PM but their was a reason why Mahatma Gandhi choose Nehru over him. Nehru in his believes had always stood with secular ideology. Patel on the other hand represented some vague or I should very distorted vision on varies subjects.
My motive is not to compare our founding fathers but it is to make you realise that your explanation is a part of very narrow minded or self pretended form of historical and political study and it might can lead to a misinformation and misguidance.
