When they ask for an in person audition, have your agent see if they can swing a self tape anyway to save time and money. They don’t offer it on the 1st messages out to representation, but frequently say yes especially if they get a lot of requests from actors who aren’t available, and a lot of Atlanta repped actors live in FL, NC, and SC but don’t want to drive. Works great when I’m out of town.
@@OneBrokeActress Indeed I’ve heard sometimes they insist, but so far every time I’ve asked they take a tape. For a studio feature this year I went in person at the studio in Fayetteville for the callback even with selftaping as an option and over half the actors there were from NY/LA/Nola. Everyone’s so desperate to work that the cost is not even a factor anymore, understandably it definitely beats waiting around as the industry is going through major changes.
If this is a typical day, it seems like a pretty easy life. I only have time to do the these things after work or on weekends. It's a luxory to do this stuff between 9-5.
i hate to compare as i had several years working multiple jobs in the same day, this is just where i am on this particular day! and i will say it has taken 10+ years of work to get to this point, i would go back to my waitressing job if i had to!
What’s the truth about LA? I hear about the homelessness run rampant, the filth, the crazy laws that allow people to steal up to $950 without facing consequences, the crime, it being able to use water and electricity how you want, etc.
…no lol. i love LA. yes, we have an unhoused population but most expensive cities do. i have never had an issue or encounter with a homeless person that made me uncomfortable. i work with a program called Honey Made Meals to feed a group once a month.
