Keith, the only survival item I would add to that kit to make it better is a Compass. One goes with me everyday.

Always interesting to see "What's in the bag" . Really like that skillet. Is that whistle made of deer horn? Would be an interesting video to see one made .

Soaringeagle3942 it is made of deer tine. Pretty simple to do , I’ll put it on the video to do list. I hammered the skillet from 11 gauge.

Just found your channel through J. Townsend & Sons channel. I’m looking to do a long hunter impression and start fully hunting with a flintlock. What model musket do you like using? I’m looking at getting a Fusil

I personally like an English style .62. Whatever you choose my personal thought is a .62 are hard to beat. I’ve taken about every legal game animal around these parts with shot or round ball from my .62. Thanks for watching!

Ramshackle Homestead & Survival with KeithandJen I’ll have to see if I can find one. I’m in the Shenandoah Valley in Virginia and we have plenty of game I can take with one.

"Just a little bit better than boilin' your moccasin." Now that's getting really period correct!

Do you grow your own linnen and do you have an oil mill? Linseed oil is great stuff and an all rounder item but I guess you already know that :3

Twodogs Hawkeye depends I have two smoothbores and a rifle. I deer hunt with the .45 rifle in this video a lot . I also use a .62 for deer and everything else in a smoothbore. I have a .75 that I turkey hunt with a good deal. Thanks for watching!
