Sounds good, can't wait to see it! Also thanks for what you and Jen do, its very calming to watch y'alls videos especially with all the crazy stuff going on in todays world, it gives us a chance to get away for awhile.
I'm looking forward to the day when you can tell us some of the behind the scenes stuff, Keith. Say hi to Jen and the dogs! Until I see you at Pappy's place, take care, sir! -JW_Halverson
Congratulations Keith I try to get on season 2 but didn't hear no response back from them I know you can't say but I hope you're doing really well on there
That's absolutely wild! My folks love the show, and I can't say I dislike it, so it'll be cool to tell them to watch you, a person I've been following for a while now! It'll feel kind of like someone I know going up there, you know? Can you say where y'all went to? My favourite bit of that show is getting a peek into survival in places I'm not entirely familiar with.
if they just knew to make a shelter in one day, with no need of a fire inside of it, they'd save a week of shelter and fireplace making and 2 weeks of firewood processing (in 2 months or so) In that saved time, you use 2 days to make the 4 baked clay cookpots with lids a day to make the pontoon outrigger raft a day to make the oars and oarlocks, a day to make the 16 small treblehook/trotlines out of the 24 large, single hooks, and also make the 700 sq ft of 2" mesh netting possible out of the cotton rope hammock, taking about 1 day to make each100 sq ft of netting. Then you're going to have enough fish to eat. It's plumb silly, having half of your allotted 5 sq miles of area be on the lake, and you're too damned lazy/dumb to spend a day or two making a reliable water craft and enough hooks/trotlines, streamer lures out of the reflective 12x12 tarp to catch some fish. Use about a 4x4 ft segment of the tarp as a lean-to, over a fire on a platform out in the lake, to attract fish at night. Set up 2x100 ft of the 2" mesh netting as net traps near the shoreline and 5x100 ft of seine, manipulated with the raft, to move the fish into the traps. Use the 6 ft long handle of the Cold Steel shovel to harvest the fish inside of the traps. The resulting blood and guts is not deliberate baiting of your traps. It's just the natural by-product of how you harvest your fish. It will, however, have the effect of drawing fish into your net traps, dang it! :-) Such a shame that nobody has brains enough to do so.
super cool keith! real happy for you love your attitude about the whole experience and respect for the team
