If I had a nickel for every time Luke ended up crying over his dead son in these plays, I'd have two nickels, which isn't a lot and I don't know whether I'm shocked it hasn't happened more or incredibly concerned that it's happened twice.
Tom gives us the best children characters and Pinocchio isn’t an exception 🥺 he’s so precious you will grow Pinocchio, you’ll be strong and 6ft5 tall, and you will get all the grapes you want, then become friends with Troll-Son and Tobias 🍇🍷
the fact that this story with some tweaks could genuinely be a good marketable movie about grief, revenge, loyalty and resilience in times of struggle, and found family, and the fact that I would watch the shit out of it, is absolutely insane thing to accomplish in improv.
AJ and Luke did a phenomenal job acting, and Sam moved the story forward so heartbreakingly. Tom's character has effortlessly won over everyone's heart; I love this! they've created another masterpiece
This is the clear evidence that comedy can actually enhance every other genre, if done right. This was so profoundly complete (hilarity, drama, plot twists - also just the acting in general) that it's nothing short of a masterpiece. No, you can't convince me otherwise.
Holy heck, I feel like AJ has the best time playing villain roles😭😭 every chance they gave him a chance for redemption he shut it DOWN and made it so much darker so quickly AHSJHSHA AND WE LOVE HIM FOR IT!! As always Luke’s grieving always gets me HOW DOES HE DO IT SO WELL that little moment he held his hand at 24:14 just broke me bro :( You guys react so freakin well to each other!! Like the plot twist as Tom “hints” at his life force being drained, and AJ’s set up for the freakin horrible puppet joke to make the Don hate him😭 I feel like the characters in this one were so well fleshed-out, everyone had their own motives and personality and just 🤌🤌 what a delightfully lovely (and stomach dropping horrifying) play!
Okay but Tom as Pinocchio was so adorable throughout the play and i died laughing at the you know cchio. This was so much fun and chaotic as usual. Kudos to you guys.
Tom did a great job of saving the scene and creating a good ending, although there will be a strange tension between Geppetto and Don in this "new family" that I would gladly see as a sequel😅
I HAVE MANY EMOTIONS! This play was ABSOLUTELY AMAZING! Pinocchio has got to be one of Tom’s best characters now. He must be protected at all costs. AND the Don wanting to have another son after losing his was so sad, and him about to kidnap Pinocchio to do it made me scream, haha. ALSO HIM HAVING TO PLAY THE DON AND THE BROKEN WOODEN BOY SENT ME! Gave me flashbacks to Toby’s Secret Pocket where Tom and Luke had to do the same with their characters. Luke’s crying was AMAZING ACTING, poor guy had to lose a son twice. AND THE FAIRY AND THE BIG SISTER. Sam was perfect in those roles. Kinda expected him to do something similar to Lady Margery while being the fairy. OVERALL, PLAY WAS AMAZING AND I ENJOYED IT SO MUCH!❤
I’m now starting to believe Tom plays child characters just to see what it would be like to be shorter than all of them lol (and, of course, to get away with correcting AJ without any tension). This was an absolute masterpiece and I highly enjoyed watching it. I’m still processing how it is humanely possible to create such a masterpiece without one word being scripted. You guys are living legends! Everything was on point, and for all the old film geeks out there, I would like to point out the VERY subliminal reference to Metropolis (1927) when Tom holds the hands of his Papa (Geppeto/aka Pignatza) and Don Vincenzo at the end, the same as the son of the leader of the workers, Freder, holds the hands of his father & another worker symbolising the HEART in “THE MEDIATOR BETWEEN HEAD AND HANDS MUST BE THE HEART!” Sending love from Sydney, Australia! 🇦🇺
I never see this done for your shows, but I'd like to shout-out the person who did the subtitles for this. Tom doing his "jazz wings! :D" was hilarious.
Tom is sooooo determined in teaching AJ new things, I love it 😂😂 he incorporates the knowledge into the plots so smoothly for a walking thesaurus, “letting go” seems not to exist in his book lol
I love so much seeing how in tune you all are with each other, it’s so beautiful to watch. The moments where you have to clarify things are hilarious (like Sam checking with Tom if he was a flashback or what) but just seeing the moments where you understand each other instantly is so amazing too (like Luke seeing Tom do the whooshing motion of the “life force” and immediately understanding the scene change). This is definitely one of my favs of yours now! (Alongside the cube and the unrelenting aubergine ofc) I love all your shows and I really hope you can come to Australia soon so I can watch some live!
Can we just take a second to appreciate the UTTER *BEAUTY* of the thumbnail? Genuinely, the colours, the quality - I think this is the best one yet! You really are taking the ‘upgrading’ very seriously aren’t you? Onwards ✨
That was amazing...😮 I'm always astonished at how they come with a "script" like that in seconds😱 You-nocchio was so adorable❤ Perfect ending. And I even forgot about the title till they majestically said it together at the end.
It really amazes me how they manage to make the dark stuff so enjoyable too. When I think of a play that felt the "heaviest" it's definitely this one, but at the same time I freaking LOVE it, I rewatched it several times already. Like, it's dark, but beautifully dark, and not in a repellant way💔 The guys are true professionals🥹 (Now that I think about it, it's probably so dark because of Luke's and AJ's indescribably good acting :D they had much worse topics in the previous plays, but they played it out much lighter than this one, with Luke's VERY realistic crying and AJ's phsycho wooden boy that gives me chills every time I watch this xD And I mean this in the best way possible, I think it benefited the play SO MUCH because it made me feel truly strong emotions🤩)
This was so goooood! Easily top 5 longforms! I almost don't believe this was not scripted! The plot was sooo thoughtful, funny and heartwarming. It felt like a childrens cartoon movie! Well done boys! 🤗
That small "I killed pinocchio for nothing..." And Don liking Pinocchio with the time he spend with him (the flashbacks!) instead of wanting wooden puppet holy hell that turned into good plot 😂
These longforms just keep getting better and better and better, you guys! You're all such gifted storytellers and amazing actors, and it's so wonderful watching these! You manage to make me laugh one second and bring me to tears the next, and your videos always brighten my days! Please never stop doing what you do!!!! 💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜
"Jazz Wings" has got to be one of my favourite subtitles ever that was class! Should have known I would cry the moment I knew Tom was playing a child, brilliant performaces as ever guys!
Lovely bit inspired by the Great Depression, if this is set in the 1930s then it will be perfect 😭😭 (after watching the insta story, I think it’s somewhere in Italy so even better)
They performed this improv at the Fringe this year, and I'm so grateful to have been there for the birth of this piece of art.😊 Everything was fantastic: the characters creation, the rhythm, the balance between funny and sad moments (especially impressed by Luke's performance when Pinocchio died). They’re a model for improvisers everywhere. Thank you guys🤗
That was an awesome play!!!! Loved the darkness turned wholesome genre in this one!! Lukes laugh and playing a caring father figure, Tom playing a fabulous child, Sam turning the plot into darkness and Aj playing a benevolent Don.......chef`s kiss!!!!!!!!!
The rollercoaster of emotions this play caused is on another level! Phenomenal acting especially by AJ & Luke! Tom as Pinocchio was just the most precious little boy EVER! I loved the way Sam moved the story in a way that became so heartbreaking! Another absolute masterpiece!!! 🔥
a) Tom as a small child is always adorable b) Luke laughing on the side gets me every time c) Was Sam okay? He looks exhausted at the beginning d) AJ's really fit
Tom always, and l mean always manages to play adorable kids!!😊Luke,AJ and Sam...just as fabulous. It always gets me that they manage to craft such great stories....just on the spot!! They are so talented.
oh my god I'm so excited. I've gotten my sister into you guys recently and we will quote stuff back and forth and it's so fun so thank you guys for helping me bond with my sister!!!!
That was amazing! The RIDE I was just taken on watching this! Y'all did amazing! Especially Tom, who did such a great job being Pinocchio, and sort of 'leading' the play. That has basis to be an actual story, so little alteration would need to be made for it to be performed.
the way franken-aj broke off pinocchio's thumb hit me like a goddamn truck. i thought it'd be a sweet moment but then it took such an unexpected turn. had to pause the video to laugh. great stuff as always guys!
Tom’s child characters are just on another level and I love how much fun he was having with this one! It’s not often we see Tom break but it’s so worth it lol
WHAT A MASTERPIECE You've outdone yourself. Everything was in it: laughter, emotions, drama, everything. Your acting skills are just beyond, you're great, guys ❤
Well done. Fucking amazing. I loved it all, especially the scene with AJ and the doll and Tom weakening over time. It was great. Well done everybody. Love your stuff. It always makes me laugh even when I feel bad. ❤🤣
i honestly expected some crazy sheep character from tom like sam did in wine under the bridge but we had a traumatized child again and it turned out to be wholesome so ig i'll go cry in the corner thank you
Tom using 'benevolent' at every chance he could possibly get was hilarious
Real we love how petty he is
out of all things fucking " YOU KNOW CCIO" is what made tom break its absolutely hilarious
Tom will NEVER let the mistakes go
And we LOVE it 😂❤❤
Tom is my favorite ❤
Reminds me of his stage craft fued with sam
I love how they just went with the Pinnochio bit and made it the main plot 😂
kinda reminds me of how the ‘gotham’ slip up made an entire play about scottish batman
Improve at its finest
this is both simultaneously the darkest and most heart warming sfth improvised play yet

Tom's created another character that the sfth-fandom is loving! I think Pinocchio is slowly going to get the same amount of love that Jimmy has.
