Define the Stages of DrainGang status: I am not aware of this. I mostly listen to instrumentals exclusively, so by default isnt much my thing

Melon, saying that Bladee's album cover for Spider made you "bricked up" and "question your sexuality" inspires many fans to come out of the closet and embrace their sexuality. Thank you for spreading such a positive message to your fans.

@ROARTHERAPPER I think they photoshopped the spider and what I assume are raspberries, into an open and empty palm, which explains the awkward hand grab thingy.
Edit: also the arm angle is weird af too. It’s kinda in an angle to show off their bicep and forearm while also presenting what’s in their hand.

Blue Crush Angel is one of my favorites on the project, I appreciate how empty the instrumental is compared to how maximalist most of the other tracks are. I love the lyrics, the call backs to previous songs and concepts and the the vocal performance feels really intimate. Then when he talks about statues the beat really feels like someone cutting stone, creating this perfect statue in his mind. Whole song kinda feels both confessional and ritualistic.

I saw a rainbow in the dark
listened to it (and the rest of the album anyway) for the first time while tripping on acid the day it came out, and this song seemed like the most profound shit ive ever heard, made me shed a tear ngl
It's my least favorite song still decent but maybe out of context of the whole album I'll like it better ( I listen to the whole album usually in order)

I really agree with what you said at the end, Bladee could approach basically any genre of music and make it his own and that does take talent. I'm so excited for wherever he chooses to take his music in the future cus the possibilities really seem quite endless.

The way you talked about it had me thinking a first 9 was coming for dg, well its a 9 for me anyway, great followup for Crest and The Fool. Anyone reading this, I highly recommend listening to bladees solo debut Gluee. I think fantano underestimates his artistry when he regards his older projects, this is definitely one of his best, most pushing albums and i simply cannot recommend it enough.

y'all should definitely check out his other 2013-14 soundcloud singles too, there's a lot of really good shit there that a lot of people sadly haven't heard because they aren't on streaming. my personal favs are oxygen, blood rain, friday nite, snowmen, buildings, 4am, bleach, i will make you bleed & my magic is strong. the latter 4 are also available on streaming a la Drain Gang Archive

i do not understand the people who hate tf out of his new stuff and praise the older work. i love both but i feel like him and the others in dg have always been evolving since the beginning and theyre music is currently at the best its been in terms of creativity and quality

Completely original production and it's so catchy, it's very difficult to make catchy songs that are original and don't have a precedent to follow.

I used to make aya with acacia bark and Syrian rue and listen to e and 333. The amount of layers and feeling it adds to music is pretty nuts wether it’s actually there or just a product of being under influence.
