It's a social dance, which is also reflected by how the J & J Competition system works with random partners and songs - so why not the clothing as well? Feels a lot more like two people improvising to a song at a dance party that way. And personally I also find it really refreshing compared to the boring and often tacky dresses / suits in other forms of dance competitions.

Those flat shoes the women wear are ridiculous. They make the women's legs look shorter, and ruin the styling. I don't even mind the masks, the shoes are horrible.
I couldn't watch people dancing with masks on. I will digress as to not have to repent for what my flesh wants to say about this. Will skidattle along to a more appealing video ..... 🤨🧐😒
