The song Suffocate they did with Poppy is phenomenal. Garris also said in an interview they want their music to induce anxiety and make listener feel trapped. Pretty accurate.
That trapped feeling is something I've never been able to describe in heavy music but I've felt it. That's intense when you get into the pit I want to see KL live so bad
And yes Knocked Loose has a lot of lyrics about religious trauma. As far as I remember Garris grew up in very religious settings, and was very afraid and traumatised by not really feeling it, at least as it was taught. His faith is quite different and personal, and he's not a friend of traditional, conservative religious oppression.
I've not really got into KL in the past, but this album, man, they knocked it out of the park. Top 3 albums this year, and super excited to see what they do from here. Also, before they released this album they released a video for a double track, "Deep in the Willow/Everything is Quiet Now" which was a perfect indication of their new direction, and just as replayable as their album. Thanks for the video, glad you enjoyed! 😁
Their previous EP "A tear in the fabric of life" is my favorite work of theirs. There's an animation to go along withe the whole EP that deals with loss, grief, acceptance etc.
I think my favorite song this year, off the top of my head, is their last song on their album this year, Sit and Mourn. Its such a fantasticly written song, and probably the only fitting song to end their album. Its longer than most ot the other songs on the album. And is like a journey into grief. Its short, all things considered at just over 4 minutes, but idk if anyone else could make a song that perfectly displays exactly what theyre trying to. If you havent already id highly recommend listening to the song. But honestly judt listen to the album, its only i think 29 minutes long? Lol that way you get the full experience and build up to the banger Sit and Mourn.
This band will bludgeon you with a sledgehammer the size of a bulldozer, and for that we love them. Also, I'd highly recommend a show they did about five years ago that remains one of my favorites on YT, it's on the Karrang channel and called 'KNOCKED LOOSE live in The K! Pit (tiny dive bar show)'.
Hey kerel! Soww, that was intense... More so than last night's 'fight of the century' I would say, haha! No but, the music is really to my liking, I just don't know how many songs I could put up with hearing these kind of vocals. I mean it really pierced into my skull, like almost screachy at some point. But overall, what a blast of energy that was🤘 Hope you're well mate! Later!!
Haha mate, that fight was a joke. The women's match before put them to shame. I hear you, the vocals are intense for sure but yeah it kicks ass 🤘 All good here, hope you're keeping well too kerel 😃
@@ThomFoolery1 Absolutely, that match was epic. If it was up to me, Serrano would have been crowned champion. That was some dirty fighting by Taylor if you ask me. But that's how it works in fighting, existing champions are almost always privileged in these kind of draw situations alas... Everything okay here buddy, let's talk again soon! 🤘👊
Have only heard them before with Poppy. Sufficate, I think it was. Really cool. Just listened to Scour's (Phil Aneselmo) new release before this, so it was good to hear something a bit more of a pop 😂😂😂
Also, "Quite refreshing in a disturbing way." is one of my new favorite quotes
🤣

Moss Covers All/Take Me Home is a perfect example of this!

I hope to hear that song live one day
This band is great! Suffocate is nominated for a Grammy, so they are getting places as well. Which is admirable with a sound like this!
this is the best reaction I've ever seen to a band on RUclips
Wow, thanks so much! 🙏

I, like a lot of people, had some problems with Bryans vocals at first. But once it clicks they kick so much ass. One the best parts of their music.
LEEP POSTING KNOCKED LOOSE PLEEEEEASE
