Knocked Loose being your first concert would be the best and worst thing OMG
Hardcore concerts are not for the weak
I've thrown out the idea of a Knocked Loose show to my boyfriend maybe 3 times now, and all 3 times he's replied with something along the lines of "Do we really want to PAY to get our asses kicked for an entire concert?". All while being visibly pumped at the idea of seeing KL live 🤣
And I can't hear the line in Pass the Nirvana by PTV (if you didn't come home injured would you say it was a good show?) without immediately thinking of KL lol
No kidding, if he's gonna see the loose, he needs to prepared to face the noose. Or.. he could stand way in the back 👀
KL pits are becoming weak these days. Although I think it's happening more and more for various reasons outside of most bands control.

Lots hate Bryan Garris' voice until they love it, and then Knocked Loose really comes into their own for them. Very few bands can build up and breakdown so damn well and so consistently.

Bryans vocal may be odd but as someone who has listened to metal for probably 30yrs it's kinda refreshing to be different. Not just the same monotone growls all the time. I embrace the seagull and love it.

If people don't like Bryan's voice, I can understand it. For me, its different and perfect for the music they're making. Wouldn't change a thing about them. They keep evolving without losing their identity.

Hey Teddy, Knocked Loose blowing up like that is actually a well appreciated miracle for me. They release really niche and for many metal fans unpopular music. First of all they leave the Metal genre entirely. The genre is called Hardcore that derives from Punk and is way less Popular than most Metal genres. Their vocal style isn't actually uncommon in Hardcore but definitly on the rarer side. And finally musically I would put them in Beatdown, a subgenre within Hardcore, which is also quiet unpopular even amoung Hardcore fans.

I´m not a huge knocked loose fan, but they hit a nostalgic sweet spot for me, from all the hardcore I used to listen to as a kid.

If you like his style of vocal tone that means you like hardcore. And if you like hardcore that means you must listen to Thrown because they are making Hardcore great again. My favorite singer in this style is Dennis of Refused. Listen to „New Noise“ for example. the Music is not as heavy (it’s a25 years old hardcore-Punk classic) but you will instantly recognize the typical vocal style

Knocked Loose are easily one of the fastest growing hardcore bands, they somehow get angrier with every song released lately, and it honestly looks like there's no stopping them lmao
edit: breakdowns are yea generally any slowdown, or build up, then hard slamming, some vocals, some not, but Knocked Loose is like 80% breakdowns, as well as all but their Bass & Drummer do vocals! So Lead & Rhythm + Bryan :D

yes and no 9:00 a musical breakdown strips back elements of the piece that were previously introduced to the music (think of classical music or jazz) but a metal breakdown is more like the climax of the song, for example this song it's the "I NEVER GAVE A F*CK" part, think of it like a bass drop or something if that helps (edm is literally just metal for p*****s)

Bryan’s voice is very unique, and a lot of people have a hard time getting used to it because we metalheads are so used to unpitched vocals, or lower hardcore yelling, but I love it, it conveys such a manic anger.

So, you should check out Dethklok. They are band made up of different artist for the show Metalocalypse. Death Metal! \m/ They are fantastic. “Thunderhorse”, “Awaken” “Murmaider” all good songs to start with.
You gotta check out the band Boundaries. Specifically the songs Scars on a Soul and Get Out. They have a very angry sound as well and kind of fall into a similar category of hardcore/metalcore as Knocked Loose
