I like the look of Cloudron. I hadn't heard of that before. My inner nerd is awakened and I am doing a test install and playing with this right now haha. 🙂 Thanks for the heads up and the tutorial.
Agreed, it's very cool software in premise. I would love it if I could have a central Cloudron install that could spin up dedicated servers for heftier applications. Everything on one server doesn't work too well if you want to run Mautic, WordPress, and Discourse.
@@dave-swift It kinda of depends on what load. I have several running and it’s handling it pretty well. But you have to monitor and and just Ram allocation
Question: The paid Cloudron Account ($15 per month), do you know if that is PER SERVER, or PER ACCOUNT? Meaning would I have to purchase a Cloudron paid account for each server, or can I use it on unlimited (or some other number) of servers? I sent them an email to ask that question as well, but I thought you might happen to know since you said you have been using it for several months. 🙂
@@dave-swift I think you mean that you can setup "free" servers with the two app limit - as many as you want. But when you pay the $15/month fee that must be paid per premium server. Does it sound like I'm getting it?
Yes, that’s it. Idea is that people are trying to minimize server costs by installing multiple apps on one server… that is not my style! I wish you could install Cloudron on a ‘master’ server and have it deploy apps across multiple ‘child’ servers. That would be amazing.
@@dave-swift That would be pretty nice. My important sites are installed one app per server (my non-profit site, my podcast, my MainWP install), but I do have a "miscellaneous" server that has a bunch of lesser important lower traffic things (such as my personal low-traffic yourls installation and a very low traffic wordpress site that I am helping a friend with, etc.).
If you go to the login portal there is a "reset password" option that lets you reset the password with your email address. Hopefully you know what email address you used to create the Cloudron instance.
@@dave-swift Thanks for the response, I do not remember the email, I will try the ones that could have been used at the time. Inside the server there is no way to see the username, by any chance?

Maybe! I like to put together workflows... check my recent video for examples: ruclips.net/video/FMd3ohaNQr0/видео.html Let me know if this is the type of stuff you're looking for.

Any apps excite you? There is a lot to look at in their App Store.
Cloudron rocks! Been using them for years. Germany based crew. Well thought out and well executed. Support isn’t too chatty though :)

The pricing is confusing.
It is per server.
But you can have multiple free servers per account.
Make sense?

Would be great to see a video on a Ghost install!
Literally uploading right now! 🤣
@@dave-swift ha! awesome!

Do you know how to retrieve the username on my cloudron site?
