Great tutorial! As someone who had this problem... I searched for many tutorials.. this is definitely the most informative one. I am sure most photographers/videographers will find this useful!
You sir rock! Thank you! Just got that same rectangle godox one, and no directions, it was driving me nuts trying to find which holes to use. Watched your video, it was done in 10 seconds lol now I know why they make the ones with everything already attached haha
This strip box setup is very cumbersome. I managed to set one up, but unable to think of a way to disassemble this extremely rigid box without hurting my fingers. Should have paid more for a easy collapsible strip softbox. Even the similarly priced Neewer strip softbox is designed better, with one Velcro corner pocket hole to ease the tension on last/4th rod during both assembly & disassembly. Could you please suggest tips on how to disassemble the Godox strip soft box safely?
Hey there :) I know what you mean, I’ve definitely hurt my fingers before trying to pull the last rods. What I’d suggest is make sure all the velcro parts are at they’re loosest, and when pulling the rod, apply some bending pressure to make sure the rod comes out straight. You could also try wearing some coated work gloves if your hands get hurt by the rod :) Hope that helps!
Nice, I was just looking at the small godox strip box on Amazon. For small studios, I'd love it if there was an even slightly smaller one, but this one looks pretty good.
Yeah seems like 30x90 is the smallest for bowens mount that I can see. For anything more thin and narrow you’d probably be looking in light tube territory. You can get grids for them too
I've got the 30X120 Godox Softbox... getting it together wasn't a problem, Taking it apart is much more difficult. Trying to get the rods out of the mount.... I think I popped a stitch or three trying to get the rods out, and still no luck!
the godox is really freaking hard to make but I have this weird feeling since its tension is tough...it becomes really beautiful when finished. *in terms of shape wise thus you get great result in terms of price cheers
They are so close in size it probably won't make *that* much of a difference but I would probably go for the larger one so you have the option to flag off the top and or bottom to make it the size of the 140. If you're going to leave it up all the time the only consideration would be if the 20cm difference affects how you would store it. :)
i bought godox sk400 ii...i got 4 rode softbox... it was more difficult to construct. Your softbox was still smooth. It is very weird to sit and construct two soft boxes at the time of shoot.
Yes! I think these rod style softboxes are better to just leave put together. Look into easy pop up and take down ones for travelling to shoots. More expensive but think of the time you’re saving! 😎
I have purchased the octagon box from Godox (the first one assebled in the video) however I am not sure I will be able to fit a grid to this particular model. Am I right? Thank you very much
Hello :) I did actually try reply to your comment a few days ago but I guess it disappeared! I did some looking, and on this Amazon listing (affiliate link) amzn.to/36RKeQZ The 37" Octabox like what was used in the video comes with a grid. For other sizes there are some grids sold separately but from what I can see on Amazon they don't list the 37" Grid separately. But maybe you can find Godox selling them somewhere. So, yes, if you have the exact one in the video, there should be a grid included in your set :)
@@AnotherCameraChannel thank you very much for your reply. I did purchase the product on ebay, albeit the bigger version 120cm and it came without the grid. I don't seem to understand where I could attach an additional grid as the second diffused wraps around the box at the edge and there are no buttons or velcro to attach anything additional.
If there's no velcro on the inside, and the front white part wraps over the edge then you're right that there's no grid for this version of the Godox 120cm Octabox. But they do sell a version that does have the velcro on the inside lip which is the same size. Sad :( I guess you could go through the effort of sewing on your own velcro lining to the top lip of the octabox and modifying the front diffuser material to allow space for a grid to be attached... but then again it might be more cost effective to just buy the other model! Collapsible version: amzn.to/2O4zgkz Standard version (like in the video): amzn.to/3rwcsbS
@@AnotherCameraChannel Interesting...I thought that you might have gone to college there. Maybe that 1/8th is what I'm picking up on. ☘ Excellent video!

Wow took me over an hour to fit the godox soft box today, so hard to do, wish it was simpler
a whole hour? oh no :(

@@AnotherCameraChannel Still can´t put it appart, do you have a video showing how to do it?
This was very useful but I have a 35x150 stripbox from godox and is incredibly hard to take apart is there a trick to doing so?
Awesome!! Helped me with my stripbox loads! How did you know which slots to put the poles in??
Exactly what I needed to know!
Literally putting my 160x35 together right now. Good heavens!
Hope this helped you!

Thank you soo much, this was very helpful to assemble my Godox stripbox. But now I need to disassemble BUT HOW! This thing is stuck! Haha!
Great review and tutorial! Where did you get that table? :)
Second hand furniture shop! :)
Thank you for this tutorial
You're welcome 😊
Can I use my own speedring on that GODOX softbox instead of the one that it comes with??
OMG, thank you!
Good luck with your new softbox :)
I hope you get good use out of it! 😇

Does somebody know what holes I have to use for 60x90 softbox? Same as for the striplight?
Thank you! Thank you! Thank you! I thought it must be broken. It made no sense to me at all!
Thank you for commenting!
I love knowing that I helped people out :)
Spent some time in Ireland?
Actually I haven’t but always wanted to go!
I think by blood I’m 1/8th Irish if that counts for anything 😅

I am struggling with how I can take it apart ( large one )
Undo all the velcro, and try pulling out and also bend the pole a little so it'll come out of the hole easier
You need to use all your strength to use these
So true 😂💪
dude you just throw softbox lol...wish i can have one.
Once you get yours, you can throw it as much or as little as you like 😉
