Very informative video. Well done! I agree that using compressors for side chaining results in a slightly more smoother, organic sound. Even if it’s just the cleanest compressor out there. I also like your new approach to the whole issue. Nice work!
@@Projektor_music I was working with 2 labels in the 90s producing psychedelic trance then switched to breakbeat in 99 after a break. We were relatively sucessfull and played Glastonbury 3 times at our peak but psychedelic trance has always been my big love. I've been out of the game since 2007 so been learning ableton and Vital etc for the last year. You have been one of my go to's for tutorials and ideas. But I've finally got a set of sounds together that are doing what I want and I've cracked the DAW. My new stuff is fairly minimal by psytrance standards but I have my found my style and am loving it. 1st EP close to finished. Thanks for your generosity and help. I really mean it. X Namaste.
Great video, learned some new things! But Did you try kickstart2, same like lfo tool but it has the function to react to audio so you can use differenr rythms and also has the function to let you set up when the sidechain ends so this clicky problem doesn’t come up The only problem i got with it that it has a latency to 16ms So after I render my bassline i cut the very first transient of my waveform manually just to be safe It‘s a bit of a work but I‘m definitely like the results
@@Projektor_music @Projektor in FL studio you can trigger automation curves with midi notes. or you can even use something like the "Fruity Envelope Controller" and have a little bit more control over the diferent envelopes that are triggered at once/separately. that way you can for example habe a short, medium and long release sidechain envelope for multiband ducking the bass.
@@Projektor_music you can actually use those different envelopes to automate a compressor and use threshold, ratio, attack and release just like in your video. thats the beauty of fl studio. the possibilities are basically limitless.

thanks man! much appriciated!
Cheers. I will try these different options with a track I'm working on. Not psytrance but similar elements.
I'm glad these videos are still helpfull even if you don't make psy! Thanks
@@Projektor_music love your work brother. Also love psytrance so I might remix some of my new stuff in that style.
@@ChaosToOrder777 go for it bro!

I like gmaudio ducker for m4l, usually does the job for me
nicee
nice video. but fl studio users know this technique for ages 😁
how do you translate this into FL then?

@@aidennymes6335 Ohh yeah that's basically the same, minus attack and release control for smoothing

@@aidennymes6335 ohh didn't know that. That's pretty cool! It has been a while since I used FL but it is nice to hear my tutorials still apply!
Nah, ill stick with my Pro MB, ShaperBox and LFO :)
as long as you are doing wideband sidechaining it's ok
