    Thanks for the rundown. I returned the Bose after importing the Huawei. Wireless charging, better mics for calls, more volume, IP54 vs IPx4, just so much more bang for the buck. And more comfortable on my big ears. You can get the app installed on Android phones, but it takes some apk fiddling along with moving your location outside the US in order for the app to locate the drivers for the clips on the servers.

    For all day use, likely you will get phones calls and the Freeclips accel at this especially in heavy noisy environments. The sound is smoother, balanced and more detailed with the Bose. Ron you’re spot on! For calls Huawei for sound Bose!

      I have the Bose and I agree, the immersive mode is incredible for me and makes everything I listen to just go to another level. Bose is known for comfort and the Ultra Opens are no exception. I sometimes forget they are there. They also recently added multi-point connections so I'm keeping my Bose now for sure.

    If you are going to use them to make a call it’s a no brainer. Get the HUAWEI Free clips. The Bose mics are pathetic. If you never plan to use them for a phone call then either pair is great. Bose does have the ability to change volume using the buttons where you can’t change the FreeClip volume with gestures. Hope HUAWEI will add custom EQ to the app and volume control. I returned the Bose and stuck with the Freeclips.
    Also I run 40 miles per week and the freeclips worked better for me as far as not moving and comfort.

    Just been testing both. The Bose are richer and more detailed to my ears. The sound is warmer but the Huawei is slightly better for transparency, possibly because of the slight inferior sound and Bose's immersive sound feature. I agree though that the Huawei are probably better value overall depending on what price you can get it.

      May be because if you live in the US where Huawei is banned it is not available , I did not realise that the availability of Apps is based on where your Google Account is based. Last year when I was in Indonesia, I could not download an App from my UK based Google account and had to create Indonesia based Google Account to download the App.

      Bro, they're so comfortable, you forget you're wearing headphones... it's simply as if you had nothing in your ears, it's impressive!
      the sound of the Freeclips is MUCH better than the Linkbuds, it is full-bodied, you can feel the music; Well, for me, the Linkbuds despite being great earbuds, have terrible sound.
      The battery is better, the controls are great, it's easy to power the headphones regardless of which side of your ear, UNCOMPARARED comfort, the only advantage I would say for the Linkbuds is slightly for the microphone.
      Now I'm working up the courage $$ to get the Bose Ultra; I didn't find many comparisons between it and Freeclips

    Hello, I'm an audiobook listener and don't listen to music, so I always use only one earbud. For me, the MOST IMPORTANT feature is not comfort, not sound quality, but the ability to fully control the earbuds using only one of them when the other is in its case. This means volume control, power on/off, and possibly noise canceling must be possible on each individual earbud. Do you know of any Open Earbuds that work this way?

    • @ronontech
      @ronontech  13 дней назад
