Ive has many Bose headphones and earbuds over the years and the best ones for me are the SoundSports. I wear them 6-8hrs a day, zero comfort issues, sound is amazing and Bluetooth range is super good. I find that many of the new models concentrate more on design and features vs sound quality. I have yet to try these but at $300 I probably wont buy them untill price goes down a bit.
I have been used apple pro for years but Bose have completely blown up. They are so comfortable, sound better than apple pro and I don’t even know I am wearing them. Selling apple pro 2 on eBay.😊
Terrible battery life. Absolutely abysmal mics. Inconsistent sound. Outrageous for the price. Bose, Bose, Bose. Pass, pass, pass. Thanks lad, fantastic critique as usual my friend. Now, the Openrock X on the other hand interests me. 😉👍
I just got the worst ear infection with the absolute worst pain I’ve ever experienced in my life and it was because I have the regular nose earbuds in my ear all day. I’m switching to these. I don’t wish this pain on anyone
I paid this stupid amount for my bose after my last set was awesome but these new sets they make sound great yes but if u leave your phone 10 feet go around a corner go to bathroom they disconnect when my 114 dollar soundcore give me sooooo much more range for a third price needed in my job
$450 in Australia. I’m usually very careful and picky with my tech, and your review was one of the few that are mostly objective. These looked like a solid option from a reputable brand, but I’m extremely disappointed. Unless you’re in a perfectly quiet room, these just don’t live up to the brand’s usual standard. The comfort isn’t great compared to over-ears, the Bluetooth connection is unreliable and clunky, and the sound quality is abysmal. Below 40% volume, the sound is decent-but only if you're in a quiet environment. To make matters worse, Bose customer service was no help when I tried to return or exchange them. I expected better from such a reputable company, but this experience has been frustrating from start to finish.
The sound is more than decent by open-ear standards and so is comfort. Trying to compare these to over-ears sets you up for disappointment though. Returning/refunding is supposed to be sort of automatic within a given time window, Bose, in my experience, is really good at that.

@@AndysTechTone you right, I’ve not any experience about open earbuds before, I’ve imagin there is a bit difference between them but it’s ok last time I watched your review about jabra elite 8 I bought it and I enjoy using it, I would enjoy this too💙💙
@@AndysTechTone The stand out feature for me regarding the 10 Gen 2 is the ability of the case to be used as a bluetooth transmitter with the included 3.5mm/USB C adaptor cable (I think the 8 active has the same capability). This feature is handy for me when I travel across the Pond from the States to Asia. The 8 active would probably work for you as you are more fitness oriented. 😉
The water and dust proof design is a big plus for me but the E8A gen2 comes with the transmitter in the case too which can also come in handy with some gym equipment
Both ear buds were charged to 100%. I took them out and listened to music for sometime. The battery on the left went down to 90% while right showed 70%. After some more listening, the right went down to 50% while left was at 70%. Any one experiencing this?
My Openrock X order arrived two days early and I have to tell you lad, these cans are bloody good. I'm not convinced they're better than the Cleer but I'll let you be the judge of that lad.
Nice. I'm wondering if you can compare running solutions when listening to a podcast. I am struggling with everything except plug ear buds or bone conduction. My openfit, I cannot hear a podcast when running against the wind. The open run remains my goto when heading out for a run listening to podcasts. Music, anything works but when I need to pay attention, the open runs are still champs
@@AndysTechTone :) Well, there is a use case difference. I use my running time to listen to podcasts mostly, if I'm running fast the music because I can't concentrate when blowing up...
Great Review...Thanks. Question. When you are wearing the earbuds....can you put another earbud into your ears. I know this sounds odd but for example. Listening to music on my phone and then I get on a video call on my laptop using wired earphones. Can I put that earphones on while the bose openbuds are clipped on the ear?
This design / concept is nothing new, it's been around for at least 3 years, and the Huawei Clip is the best iteration of it for a lot cheaper. Often, I think that companies like Bose are out there / could give the impression that Apple with its Airpod is cheaper / affordable, fortunately companies like Soundcore, Earfun, Soundpeats and Tozo exist, pff 🤦🏽♂️
Nice review…sticking with these wired EarPods until the techs do something closer to the old Powerbeats Pro…those were the best ones I’ve ever owned, but are now discontinued.
Andy, Can the ear buds work independently of each other. Meaning, if I drain the battery using the right ear bud, I can put the left one in and continue listening
These mics are not the best and depending on the circumstances or how you wear the earbuds your voice can be hard to hear indeed. Not sure how bad the situation is though...
I own them. The price was 350€ on Amazon, which hurt me. Alot. However i use them at work for about 8 hours. The Batterie should last 1-2 hours longer. Immersive audio kills battery life so i only use that when i know i won’t drain the buds completely. I listen to music most of the time and i like the immersive audio modes actually. Yes it’s a tiny little more processed and you lose a little bit of stereo separation but the sound opens up a lot you get this lovely speaker like effect even just with stereo mode only. I love the sound. Sometimes I‘m a bit off a bass head myself (10 Inch woofer in the trunk). The Bass stays clean just like he states in the video. The sound is like he described. I like the sound signature of the current Bose lineup. They do some subtle things and they found their sound. They have been around for long i guess. However insanely overpriced. Lovely build quality though. Especially on their premium headphones and soundbars. I got myself the ultra soundbar and its a good product aswell.
The Huawei Freeclips won me over when comparing them to the Bose. Even more comfort, wireless charge, IP54, much better mic. Bose is available in US, at least.
I have had both and kept the Huawei Freeclip. Yes the Bose sound a touch better but the freeclips are more comfortable and the mics for calls blow the Bose away. I like the button on the Bose and ability to control volume and the sound. But for $80 less and good sound and great mics, the Freeclips won.
Hey Andy, what are the best earbuds with best mics for calls in noisy environments? Thanks, for this great content.
The Huawei Freebuds Pro 3 then the 2 and 1, Earfun Air S, Soundcore Liberty 4, OnePlus Buds 3

Agree the price is high but the sound is more than acceptable. Love not having an ear hook which is annoying to me.
You can get a lot of open-ears with a "more than acceptable" sound for a fraction of the price of these. But ear hooks can be an issue for sure...
