luckilly not really been too much of an issue here in UK since the 1970's (punk rock did wonders for entertainment here) If anything, we have the Q-anon casualities and both the woke and anti-woke casualties DEMANDING censorship, and growling because the censorship ain't happening very much at all, but for simple common sense and decency most folk would want anyhow. Though am glad most far-right don't get much space anymnore. But they're lurking as ever.
What always impresses me is the lack of crudety in the act. Anyone an get a laugh with the rude and crude, a true comedian manages the same effect without lowering themselves or the audience.
I used to Love watching Tommy Cooper as a kid growing up. Also remember watching the show on the fateful night that he had the heart attack on stage and collapsed and died and everyone in the audience were laughing because they thought it was part of his show.. He truly was a comedic genius definitely 1 of kind..
100% what a genius he was. I will soon talk about him and what I experienced on my up and coming shows. I saw that very same thing Paul. I was 14 years old then and I knew there wasn't something quite right at the end. I'll give you a mention Paul, thank you
Thanks for posting this. Many sketches that I have probably seen before......way back then ........but I have totally forgotten. Great selection. Having a good refresh laugh! However...it also brings back a memory of working with a film location catering crew for the TV guys at "Her Majesty's Theatre".....on the night he passed...and the week after when Jimmy Tarbuck did a eulogy backstage. That time I was backstage carrying a big tray of something...(normally outside scraping something off a big tray! ..kitchen porter) I was lucky to witness. At the end of that road it was the Libyan Embassy siege (Yvonne Fletcher)....and the cops came to our "chuck wagon" for free coffee! I could talk all night. Red beans and lentils from Kaapstad
I had never even heard of Tommy Cooper until just a few years ago. How I missed out on his comedy is beyond me. He was hilarious! I can't find enough of his videos today. One of the funniest men in comedy ever! Thanks for uploading this. It's great.
Yeh! As a primary school aged kid when most of this struff was being shown on air first time around, my wee brother and I would fall around the floor just by him walking on stage! His prescence made it alll happen. His material was always so cheap and ropey which made him all the funnier. ''pronouce setntence''? reallY? ha ha ha
Tommy was an amazing comedian, with his funny whitty lines and jokes, saw him live when I was about 9 or 10 back early 60s, my dad asked him for his autograph after show and as he handed Tommy a pen Tommy said "oh I thought you were going to shoot me" lol
Tommy could be quite eccentric in real - For example, if he was staying at a hotel, rather than dining in the restaurant he'd cook his own food over a camper stove in his room !
Actor Authur Lowe. Actor Bernard Cribbens. Comedian/actor Eric Sykes being " levitated" by Tommy! Comedian Ronnie Corbet a few times. Blond actress Diana Dors cutting Tommy's tie off & ripping apart his jacket! Comedian Ronnie Barker after the court scene! Actor Patrick Cargill at desk/robbery with Tommy.
@@TheSonnyfaiz Yup...this certainly took me down memory lane to a MUCH better era in time ♥️♥️♥️ long before "political correctness" & "wokism" took over 🤮🤮🤮
Such a funny man! I guess this was just before the Two Ronnies became a team in their BBC shows.
It looks like that to me @keithnaylor1981 before they were huge in the UK :)
Never thought we'd see Tommy Cooper and Captain Mainwaring in the same room.
American here. First time seeing Mr. Cooper. That first one with the censor was prophetic.
'PATHETIC'? - It wasn't that bad...followed by Tommy Cooper laugh.

I may have a really good compilation coming up soon. And I also have a story to tell about him soon :)
God we loved him here in nz.
One of the few comedians to just walk on stage and have everyone cracking up.
No one can do that these days!
