The last time I belted into song with a bunch of my buddies, it was at an Irish pub and the band was playing "Wild Rover" and we were all fairly hammered. It was the manliest thing I've ever been apart of. When these guys started singing the mlp theme, it was the complete antithesis of that.
Wild Rover is one of my all-time favorite Irish pub songs, it's popular at my local Irish pub as well and everybody sings along when the musicians play it. My other favorite is Seven Drunken Nights, which isn't as catchy to sing as Wild Rover, but it tells a story and it's absolutely hilarious.

For people wondering why men like it, as the show goes on, it becomes really well-written. The characters develop realistic and relatable personalities and flaws and a lot of the trials they face in the episodes are relatable and have lessons with real-life applications. It also provides an escape from the real world with happy and care-free themes along side the heavy and darker themes. There are also a lot of jokes for adults. The writers intentionally wrote the show so parents could enjoy it with their children, so there are a ton of pop culture references. The characters don’t talk like they’re in a kids show and actually have more articulate speech and vocabulary. Some episodes deal with heavy problems like the stages of grief and the villains are usually high stakes and include pretty entertaining action sequences and fight scenes. It’s absolutely not for everyone, but I got into the show when I was the target audience, a 9 year old little girl. I did grow out of it but now I am back into it again, mostly for nostalgia, but I have to admit that I still thoroughly enjoy it. It makes me happy and I don’t really care what other people think. Although these cringe videos are hilarious if I can get through them.

I was in the Grunge/HeavyMetal group when I was in High School. This led to hanging out with the wrong ppl, and being thrust into the world of drugs and alcohol very early on. Even if I wasn't doing certain drugs, being around them frequently got me used to them, and made them seem like not a big deal I guess. I became a full on pothead. And throughout my life, the theme of "wrong crowd & drugs" continued, decreasing in some ways, and escalating in others. I grew out of the grunge look around senior year, but the damage was done. Being in that crowd set a standard in my life. And after great times in my early 20s, my late 20s/early 30s(now) devolved into full on addiction, opiates & alcohol equally. I'm now in year 2 of recovery and it's not easy. It's not really going well either. And if I could go back, I'd never turn grunge and just take my lumps in the good kids' groups, or with the popular kids that I actually befriended senior year(but just at school) ....>

Wild Rover is one of my all-time favorite Irish pub songs, it's popular at my local Irish pub as well and everybody sings along when the musicians play it. My other favorite is Seven Drunken Nights, which isn't as catchy to sing as Wild Rover, but it tells a story and it's absolutely hilarious.

For people wondering why men like it, as the show goes on, it becomes really well-written. The characters develop realistic and relatable personalities and flaws and a lot of the trials they face in the episodes are relatable and have lessons with real-life applications. It also provides an escape from the real world with happy and care-free themes along side the heavy and darker themes. There are also a lot of jokes for adults. The writers intentionally wrote the show so parents could enjoy it with their children, so there are a ton of pop culture references. The characters don’t talk like they’re in a kids show and actually have more articulate speech and vocabulary. Some episodes deal with heavy problems like the stages of grief and the villains are usually high stakes and include pretty entertaining action sequences and fight scenes. It’s absolutely not for everyone, but I got into the show when I was the target audience, a 9 year old little girl. I did grow out of it but now I am back into it again, mostly for nostalgia, but I have to admit that I still thoroughly enjoy it. It makes me happy and I don’t really care what other people think. Although these cringe videos are hilarious if I can get through them.

I was in the Grunge/HeavyMetal group when I was in High School. This led to hanging out with the wrong ppl, and being thrust into the world of drugs and alcohol very early on. Even if I wasn't doing certain drugs, being around them frequently got me used to them, and made them seem like not a big deal I guess. I became a full on pothead. And throughout my life, the theme of "wrong crowd & drugs" continued, decreasing in some ways, and escalating in others. I grew out of the grunge look around senior year, but the damage was done. Being in that crowd set a standard in my life. And after great times in my early 20s, my late 20s/early 30s(now) devolved into full on addiction, opiates & alcohol equally. I'm now in year 2 of recovery and it's not easy. It's not really going well either. And if I could go back, I'd never turn grunge and just take my lumps in the good kids' groups, or with the popular kids that I actually befriended senior year(but just at school) ....>
.... If only there were Bronies back then. They would have been a part of the grunge scene, and I wouldn't have even gotten close to the scene then. Who knows how my life could've turned out
