Rob, I cannot stress this enough: I love you
Andrew, Rob, we can't stress this enough: we love both of you

@@ChristopherBuecheler Best music RUclips bromance ever
best bromance in the world
It's amazing how you can go from death metal vocals to soft falsetto in the song about Evelyn. You're such a versatile vocalist
I love how Rob Ruccia is still producing for them, he looks like he has almost as much fun as Rob and Andrew!
well… It kind of makes sense, given both of the Robs are friends with each other.
It's also quite a thing to brag about. I believe this stuff in his resume would Impress most people in the business and certainly earn him customers. I mean, imagine you are on a tight deadline, worry if you'll make it, and this guy walks in.
It's unbelievable the way that everyone in the studio worked together to make this. The chemistry between you and Andrew specifically though... Great stuff, love it
Seeing this is the highlight of my year, just so much good energy and happiness and amazing skill all in one amazing day!
0:02 this is the cutest thing I've ever seen
Love this so much! And wow, shout out to Rob Ruccia for not only bringing everything together in the control room, but also FOR GOING WITH ROB TO CANADA to do this!
The 3 guys in that room, are all so impressively impressive. I need to find more friends that play instruments. Thanks for your guys content
This reminds me so much of The Beatles "Get Back".
Shame you couldn't record this in Chicago, but at least you were able to bring your producer/engineer Rob with you.
Props to the audio engineer and camera crew running around working along side both of them
So glad you guys brought your engineer Rob with you to Canada.
He's an integral part of the project now!
Also: I'm so hyped for this video.
Hes so funny too
He’s the only one that they could get to agree to do it😂
Engineer Rob is low-key my favorite part of these videos
I think it would be very hard to find another engineer willing to put up with their bullshit tbh.
it wouldn’t be first of october without engineer rob

rob's lyrics: greg
Greg!
Greg's his own miracle.
Evelyn may be a miracle to Andrew, but Greg is a miracle to the entire world

Tamara: Why don't you write me a song too?
Rob: Greg. Take it or leave it.
"That's so pretty" "They're both crying!"
"...i really put my heart into Grandad's dinner party too"
😂 😂 😂 love it
The sound engineer's job is so diverse that it's crazy. Like, he's not just there to hit record. Or even just to make sure everything works the way it should. He's so a part of the creative process that when Rob is not happy with the song, he's there to help and reassure and keep driving the session forward. So shout out to the sound engineer, as always.
he's honestly just as important in this video
My words
I worked a little in recording studios. To me, you've described the difference between an engineer and a producer. Love a good engineer, but when you get a solid producer who's on the exact same creative page as you, it's something special.
The fact that a FoO video was what got them together in the first place is just so fitting. Rob is a boss for sure.
Agreed. It was cool when he suggested recording the vocals before the solo so not to waste time.
I love how (Recording) Rob went from "are you guys insane? This is a dumb idea" from the first album to "yes, I'm flying to Canada with you to record your new album".
TRUE LMAO. Dude is a champ
I mean… it went from him being shocked at how much they put in to them doing it a third time
I fucking love this band and they’ve only been together for 34 hours
Hmm? Isn't this the third year so shouldn't it be 46?? 🤔🤔
@@junielovesu Nah it's 34, they did 10 hours for the first album, then 12 hours for the 2nd and 3rd

I think Rob has gotten used to it after four years. Preparing for utter chaos for 12 hours, once a year.
hey augnos!
I'm more surprised it made it that far in the day without crashing lolol

Every first of October needs:
A Halloween song
A System of a Down song
A song about Greg
A song about food or drink
A song that makes me cry

And a Les Claypool/Primus song
A Midwest Emo song too.
@@borbleborb4586 grand dad's dinner party is just wynona's big brown beaver though

I cannot express the joy I felt after seeing that sound engineer Rob also went to Canada. It just wouldn't feel like a 1st of October session without him.

I was very scared for a moment that he wouldn’t be there
hes part of the band at this point

This video series literally fixed the weird anxiety that I had about writing music. I always felt like, I don’t know, anything I wrote had to be profound or special or else it wasn’t worth recording.
Now I write and record music a lot, even if it’s just some silly nonsense. Not to prove anything to anyone, but just because it’s fun and I love doing it.
Thank you both for this.
I find that the most compelling music is actually the ones that are simple, funny and straight to the point. Ones that are easy to write, even funny ones. My band has a lot of hilarious songs that were eventually turned into serious tracks
I feel the exact same way, definitely something I need to get over
Definitely,If you're having fun and you genuinely like what you've written whether it's simple or complex, that's what matters the most.
where can I hear your music?
Same here. I also put myself under a ton of pressure to be profound every time I write. But this series reminds me to just let loose, don’t overthink, and just let the ideas run wild

I just realized that Scallon says "ok come on Andrew, we have 10 OTHER songs to write" during the first song, inadvertently predicting that they would be doing ELEVEN songs that day!
I love how they built the relationship with Rob Ruccia. He was sceptical at the start of the first album and now he is an important part of FOO
I love the evolution of Rob Ruccia's attitude to these sessions. I think the first one it was "you want to do what?". Now this is just business as usual :).
Rob Ruccia is the best tbh, he's one of the best parts of every video for me

Right lol When Rob says "midwest emo", he always specifically means AF
You can really tell their musical styles apart in these videos. Rob is the master of bass, fun melodies and goofy lyrics, while Andrew is better at piano, composing chord progressions and emotional stuff
@@ileutur6863 and both styles are awesome! I'm glad to see the variety in their song writing.

They should do 10 songs in 7 days and make it like a serious professional album
But that would be a different band.
The beauty of First Of October is the fact that they’re on a time limit, if they did it in a week it wouldnt have that rushed and chaotic yet beautiful energy that they’ve had for all this time.

It’s been said before, but these guys really should try being a “band”. Like sending each other their ideas and developing an album together over time? They seem to really enjoy the creative process and get each others’ styles!
To be fair, this probably works exactly because they are time limited. Guys like this often function best on their own because they are so creative - they are never done. But eh, idk. It would be really really cool!!

Nice to see Andrew Huang returning from space to give Rob Scallon a hug.
Andrew is such a positive person. Everything Rob says, "Yes!"
In the first two albums, I think that Rob Scallon really shined the most, being a midwest emo gold mine. But this time, Andrew really outdid himself with all the clever lyrics, catchy riffs (such as in Greg), and especially with "Miracle". 10/10
I love that Andrew really is the main singer on this one also. Rob is amazing at many things but singing isn't one of them.
@@olivierpeartnoy I actually like Rob's singing. It's very much midwest emo, while Andrew has a really clean pop voice. It all depends on the songs. I couldn't possibly imagine "Do You Want To" be sung by Andrew

In my opinion, (after watching both videos several times now), this album surpasses the first 2. By a long shot. You can see how much they improved. Same formula yes, but definitely improved.
