In every great songwriting team there’s a cute one and a murdery one. McCartney was cute, Lennon was murder. Which is weird because Paul actually wrote a song about murder, but it was cute.
I kindly request that you guys try an experiment. #1. Each of you plays the same instrument - so you both share drum duties, guitar, bass, synth, etc. - then flip flop different sections of the song in the final recording. The more sections the better. You can end up with two (or many) different versions of the song. For example, if Rob is (A) and Andrew is (B) Then you could take the same performance but produce 2 different mixes by printing ABABABAB verses BABABABA. #2. Come up with a set tempo, key, set chord progressions, and song structure beforehand. Then break apart (separate rooms) write according to the perameters given and at the end, mix and mash the songs together. You can either overlap them to hear new harmonies or you can flip flop, Andrew section transitions into Rob section transitions back into Andrew and so on. Fun stuff gentlemen. October is quickly approaching.
What I love about this series is you show the creative process to the point where there is that struggle to line up ideas, but the ultimate reward when it comes together.
I just re-watched "I'm here whenever you need me," and can I say, Rob seems to be in a much better place in this video. I always enjoy the colabs between these two (and of course the rest of the crew). Watching music be made is one of the few things where "watching the sausage gets made" is welcome. Listening to both the music and how Andrew and Rob talk to each other to figure out what they each want is not only entertaining, but educational :)
4:33 While watching this, YT Suggested the Glass Beams (Live on KEXP) video. The thumbnail made me click it in the middle of watching this, expecting to just quickly squash my curiosity about the masks. I've been gone for an hour, and I have a new favorite psychedelic band. But now I'm back to hear cats murder stuff, best episode ever!
This feels like a fever dream, you have Andrew making digital meowing sounds, Rob playing a heavy bass line, and then just 'maybe I could add the other ukulele' and then back to meows.
Y'all do great work and have released some objectively phenomenal music, but this is both ironically and unironically the best thing you guys have made. Looking forward to First of October
Listened to it. Sounds awesome. lol The "murder" part is too melodic and doesn't 'attack' enough imo. "Murder" has a less beauty to it and should be more simple.
Is this this sequel to Pink Fluffy Unicorns?? Find the finished song on streaming services: fanlink.tv/sonicboom-cutemurderouskittens
If it's a franchise, shouldn't Sparkle Mountain be included?
@@jaederferreiradeoliveira6496 probably lmao
Can you please adopt the PFUDOR iMessage trend???
Next up: Axolotl Ascendant!
Andrew thank you for making the eddsworld theme song and have a good day!
This show is just an excuse to do First of October more frequently and I don't have an issue with that.
I'm totally for it ! More !
The good news is October's almost here.
Its funny how Andrew keeps wanting to make it more cute and rob wants to make it more murdery
the perfect balance
I came here to say this.
In every great songwriting team there’s a cute one and a murdery one. McCartney was cute, Lennon was murder. Which is weird because Paul actually wrote a song about murder, but it was cute.
Read this before watching and I couldn't have been prepared for how accurate this was
@@MatejNovakCreative And Lennon wrote lots of pacifistic shit but was a violent maniac to everyone around him.
Rob: "if Andrew is writing"
Andrew: MEW MEW MEW MEW MEW MEW MEW MEW
Dude that breakdown was lowkey insane, like the gritty guitar with the light fluffy floaty synths was TUFF
can u guys just keep making this for the rest of the universe's lifetime
please
“I’m handling the murder” -Rob Scallon
I read this as he said it...
This is hands down the best show on the internet
I kindly request that you guys try an experiment.

That's absolute lunacy and I give it my full endorsement.
Get this man a job on some tech startups idea board holy shit
Why would you make Andrew B instead of A? Are you insane? XD
@@najrenchelf2751 don’t think that alphabetizing the names was on the forefront of his mind here lmao
Always happy when a new sonic boom episode is uploaded
I like how they decided to make a new metalcore genre: Cutecore.
That kind of exists already as kawaiicore
This is so 2010 and I love it.
What I love about this series is you show the creative process to the point where there is that struggle to line up ideas, but the ultimate reward when it comes together.
Andrew in the best studio ever... let me get my laptop so I can sample my meow

Crazy how it’s a month and one day away from the 1st of October
Best day of the year

I've never heard anything so demented and yet it's so utterly Andy and Rob
Take so cold it's universally agreed on: Sonic Boom is the peak of RUclips content.
5:48 rob saying murder caught me off guard 😂😂
Rob le scallion
This continues to be my favorite show on RUclips.
I wasn't prepared for the Pink Fluffy Unicorns jumpscare, it's been so long!
When the band made the pun about "paws" my video froze and it took me like a solid 20 secs to realise it wasn't just a hilariously awkward pause.
Whoever submitted the idea definitely knew who they had in mind for each part of this song and the boys delivered.
This is the most interesting Sonic Boom song I’ve ever heard!
This feels like a fever dream, you have Andrew making digital meowing sounds, Rob playing a heavy bass line, and then just 'maybe I could add the other ukulele' and then back to meows.
Impeccable video editing in the final song 😂
Y'all do great work and have released some objectively phenomenal music, but this is both ironically and unironically the best thing you guys have made.
Looking forward to First of October
the amount of musicality and talent packed into an hour and a half is always so satisfying to watch
Andrew: "mew mew mew mew mew" :3
Rob: *Power stance, stank face and brutal bass
Never change lol
This could be a netflix show!
Its almost October again who else is excited? I wonder how the next album will sound
The album should totally be an hour and a half of this.
Oh, cats! The world's most purrfect death machine wrapped up in a tiny, adorable package? I didn't know they were getting a theme song.
So very accurate!😂Rotfl
This is basically *Sonic Boom does "Doom Crossing: Eternal Horizons"* and I LOVE it 🤣
I WAS LOOKING FOR A COMMENT LIKE THIS HAHA
Triple the length, I want this as a full release.
Here we go again!
I love this show
3:46 is that a lemon on the clipboard
Easily one of the best things on the internet. This show gets me pumped to make music. Thanks guys!
These two have dominated the limited-time-song-writing thing so hard that it’s hardly a factor at all anymore
this is legit Devin Townsend material, and I love it
AM I THE ONLY ONE WHO JUST LEARNED ANDREW IS PINK FLUFFY UNICORNS
Enjoyable as ever! I always look forward to the last Saturday because it means more Andrew, Rob, and lots of smiles!
The genre should obviously be called: Kittycore
Song djenterator
somehow this is was a great appetizer for robs new album
"Murder bursts" is absolutely wild.
the house band feels so real to me i forget that it's also rob and andrew
the djenty bit over the cozy ukulele chords they were trying out at 2:00 reminds us of Plini tbh
this video is way funnier when you remember andrew has a whole video of making different instruments sound like meows
It's almost TOO CUTE. Nicely done!
6:46 is literally the most funny bit I've seen ALL WEEK
Classic @itspusher lol
The song is great but the editor of this video is top notch! Such great timing.
0:38 Still one of the best intros to any series🔥🔥
"Wild synth sounds" sounds a lot like windows 98-vista system sounds XD
In a recording setting “wild” means that it’s not recorded over a specific section of the song :)
@@andrewhuang oh im aware. i just quoted for reference.
@@andrewhuangthank you for making the eddsworld theme song you are the best and keep it up
Have a good day!
My favorite genre of music is "Just Cause We Can."
Andrew and Rob are like the powerhouse of my music youtube binges
Sounds kinda hyper pop, which is a great genre for this prompt. nice job.
idk why i never noticed this but the drummer in the house band looks great with those bangs!!
that verso guitar is one of my bucket list guitars. it looks so extremely cool
SO good to see sonic boom back
The editing on this one is amazing! well done!
I think you just created a new genre.
Of all the cat songs to ever exists, WHY DID YOU NOT USE A MEOWDULATOR PEDAL‽‽‽
2:12 "I just need chord changes for it to have like a melody or whatever": me writing any song
Sonic boom is just how they practice for the next first of october
I love this. The little sound queues are so tickly and great xD
hollyshit this is much more entertaining than most of tv todays shows
Love it. Reminds me of the Cravendale milk cat adverts from the UK about 10 years ago.
I watched this like a week ago and it was randomly stuck in my head just now, so I came back to listen again haha
This song is giving me some awesome throwback Mario Paint vibes
seems like a expensive TV production
Im not sure if this was intended, but all the pinch harmonics in the breakdown sound a lot like angry meows!
The editor must've had as much fan as anyone making this.
this video just explains the differences between andrew and rob andrew is more modern and mainstream while rob just makes various masterpeices
Listened to it. Sounds awesome. lol The "murder" part is too melodic and doesn't 'attack' enough imo. "Murder" has a less beauty to it and should be more simple.
Not if you're doing it right ;)
Ahahaha this song gives off such a Happy Tree Friends vibe
That Baritone Guitar was made for this Song
This is why I’ve been watching you since pink fluffy unicorns
Talented and adorable !
Can't wait for the 1st of October!!
Sounds nostalgic, but without any of the sadness that nostalgia usually has, just double the fun.
Wow, Tony Hawk is really good at editing
I'm all in for pretty much any outfit that exists. But Andrews shit is just abominable. Love you!
I'm reminded of Detective Mittens from FilmCow.
This genre mix is sooooooo fittiiiinnggg luv it
What cute little kittens, I hope they don’t have any bad intent!
Who can blame them, they're so gosh darn cute
Perfect song. No notes
This song is a real de-fanger, but the production of it was claws-out. To put simply, I'd put it in rotation.
This one needs some Emily Hopkins... xD
This song just sounds like a demo from BMTH's Post Human Nex Gen, and I love it.
Good to see we've made Happy Colored Marbled by Ween with kittens
I was definitely expecting something along the lines of Mope Mope, but this is pretty good too
Oh ya, I can totally see this being used for a TikTok sound on those Cat compilation video's.
I listened the song yesterday on Spotify, but now with the added context it makes way more sense😂
Gori: Cuddly Carnage just came out and it's about a cat with a sentient hoverboard killing pink fluffy unicorns. Weird timing.
7:15 I want to go to whatever forest Andrew visited to capture that sound
Best show ever
This is giving me throwbacks to The Nurse by The White Stripes! Sounding awfully murderous, good sirs🤝
Your jawlines much be as chiseled as a greek god after mewing this much.
