Yea they are predictable but they become so annoying to deal with in combo with other enemies or near any ledges! And they're damage output to what they take is stupid.
I like my mix spear/sword build with the demon king set. It's not maximum damage, but it's aplies elemental damage as well, and I can use the spear for more breack and combos, and the sword for blocks and react to attacks.
I know this vid is years old, but when you test damage, make sure to make comparisons when either facing the enemy or attacking/being attacked from behind both times. Not sure if the damage multiplier affects Onryoki's last hit there, but usually it does make a big difference.
Nice stuff, good to see your take on the spear build I finished my spear build today using Kara-Jishi+ Japan's Bravest set, Oni Sakon Spear and tombo-kiri and red demon head piece. I ended up changing things a bit getting rid of tombo-kiri replacing it with red demon spear for the passive. For the head piece I had a couple from my axe set (warrior monk and nue mask). I ended up using Monk's mast for the toughness since I hate being 'rupted while comboing but had to invest alot into stamina to get B agility wasting alot of damage potential in the process (change attack to stamina A+ could help it) but it works out well. must say Japan's bravest+Kara Jishi is so much better than the red demon set plague that it...
Yah jpn's bravest is nice, heavy, but probably better for people wanting instant damage rather than worrying bout elements. Same goes for warrior of the east. 4pc east + 4 pc west (ayyy) was something I wanted to test, but needs to be high level. Was going to be maybe 250, 99 stam+99 bod then have clan that increases life based off stamina for lots of tankiness with tengen mid-stance buff.
you should do another high level spear build using raging bull armor or armor of the exceptional warrior. I'm sure you could work something awesome out.
my biggest complain with the game so far is the fact that once you gear up and maximize your stuff, there's nothing left to do. in souls or diablo once you reach the top you can push further in dificulty so the OP build will eventualy stop being OP. Nioh has a beautifull gameplay, sadly the lategame is stale. Anyways, rant aside, your builds and mechanics knowlege, saved me hours of research, providing a more enjoyable ride while messing around with it's rpg side. TY, hope the dlc and future patches add up in longivity to this great game =)
yah I hope some sort of "unlimited" dungeon of sorts is added sometime, like how greater rifts became the next thing in diablo 3 where most builds struggled in the 90's yet you could go over 100. though that in a way is also just limiting the game to only a few viable builds for that experience, whereas atm practically any build can clear all of ng+. Either way they said harder missions will be added so I say bring em on >:D Opens a new purpose for building imo.
agreed I destroyed every enemies in my path along with bosses in 2-3 seconds with just a level 160+10 kusarigama equipped on only. when I go living weapon still deal 10-15k damage per hit with blade spin. i even naked not even accessories was equipped still was able to keep living weapon the whole level. nice build BTW keep up the good work.
Apparently there is a March update rolling out with 10 high difficulty missions an the DLC will be equally as challenging. That's what they've said. Maybe an NG+ progression like souls would be a good idea. As for dungeons, sounds like a solid idea but is it really possible for a level-to-level progression kinda game?
I think so. Basically make something like twilights, tons of enemies, with maybe 3 different stages that maybe rotate. That have say 10 "levels" to them, each increasing by 10-20-ish levels. So say the default is lv 500, at lv 10 the mission would be lv600/700, toughest mission in the game. Maybe sprinkle some extra bosses at 5th and 10th level to throw some diversity (since I doubt they will be randomly generated). Basically same mission just gets harder and harder. When you click the mission in starting point, you can select is difficulty number. And, offer guaranteed divine drops each mission complete, with a high chance for divine drop rate, and in later levels make it possible to drop +8-10's, as incentives to push.
Awesome ! Looking forward to some new content , like a lot of other players are saying it would be nice to have some higher difficulty new games . Being stuck in NG plus with fully upgraded gear , there is nothing left to do ...
Great video as always! I can't wait to see the goofy shit you get up to before the DLC. Ninja troll build is fun, but not OP. Stack unlimeted Ninjustu and the tools needed for the ninja art of slapstick. I wish you could invade in Nioh. Also loving the thumbnails. I still think Spears are the best overall weapon in the game. B+ Body, C Strength and C in Skill, add long reach and good movesets and you have a very solid weapon. I don't know if you can makes spears OP as the other weapon builds, but they are fun and spears have a little more to them than block+(whatever) or hold (whatever).
could you make a spear build for Last Great Generals Armor. Something similar to living weapon/spirit builds. Divine gear though because I know its a pain to get the perfect eathrill drop.
I am really sad that almost no one uses the axe, I started using the axe just recently and I gotta say, it's one of of the most fun weapon in the game.
yah, spearfall spam seems to be their only "op" thing about them, and even then you cant really one shot like you can with a sword during a final blow (maybe at +10 but yeesh). You would think a primarily thrusting weapon would be best at stabbing xD
Should be, you get skill dmg any time with extra life and defense. However with wind element up my setup would out damage it. And tengen is stronger than kato, though kato gives extra ki which is nice, but tengen also gives ki recovery speed, and with kekkai it doesn't really matter anyway since it takes 1 sec from 0 to full ki. Then there's tengen's defense buff which adds a bit more defense. Kara jishi would be better in your case as well (damage wise).
Did you test this build with a higher strength or skill stat to compliment the scaling of your spear? I was wondering what kind of impact it would have on your spear's attack rating.
No, but most if not all weapons can reach 1900, or at the very least, 1850 with 99 in all 3 scaling stats and a cta on wpn. You can do more damage for sure, but this video was pre-patch. My poison spear build is a more accurate representation of spear post-patch 1.06.
I might just get this build in a few days lol. So close to 76 in the body stat since the Kusarigama scales a bit with it (Susanoo build) so I can easily switch between the two. Looking forward to using these builds in the DLC haha
Nice! Hey BTW i was going to ask u something... There's this "National Unity" Ability on Demon King Set that says: Increases Speed [Sword of Meditation]
I used it in a video alrdy. dealing 142k. It's still way too slow, and more annoyingly is the walking animation, you have to position yourself right otherwise you walk past them sometimes, or don't deal behind the back damage since you hit the sides. Also sloth is mandatory. Your faster with demon kings but by like 1 second at most.
I was considering to respec my caracther and use the spear, also I'd like to use magic. How I should spread the stats? I should go all for body and magic?
same gear? using carnage? have tengen attack buff up? what's your wpn attack? attack on all armor? all that needs to be factored in. A lot of my builds revolve around stacking damage, and missing pieces or not having a higher + lvl on your 150 will result in less damage. And if you're not using the exact same gear than you can't really compare (if you're doing less).
Well I show it in the video, it reduces damage you take from enemies with wind status. water lowers enemy defense. Lightning slows them down. earth causes them to take more ki damage. and fire deals extra damage over time.
trail of the master trick (youtube if you don't know). You can also do request for ginchiyo/demons daughter mission which has a chance to award a divine accessory. Or you can find it randomly from loot you find in ng+. It's not easy/fast to get in any of the methods.
yasakani magatama. divine only charm, reduces set requirements by 1. So it acts as "a piece" for every single set bonus you equip. 2 set bonus only need 1 piece. 4 piece bonus only need 3 pieces of that set. 6 set bonus only need 5 pieces of that set, to activate its 6 piece bonus. etc
I truly do not understand how that much damage is even remotely possible legitly. I have the same armor, weapons, even most of the same stats on my weapons and armor. After all buffs are applied, my spear hits only do a measly 500 damage per hit, and only about 800ish when the enemy is blustered. And these are from behind the enemy. Granted, these are level 320-330 missions, but still. The difference in damage shouldn't be that pronounced.
You're doing something wrong. There is nothing fishy done, if anything this build's rather weak compared to my other builds. Thing to keep in mind is video date, this was pre-patch 1.06, which nerfed tengen and carnage damage. Still the best to use for damage, but weaker now. My poison spear vid shows what's possible post-patch with spear. It's an end-screen annotation. "most" is not enough if you want 1:1 comparison with the footage. You get +6 wpn (or higher), you have 1446 atk or more, you have the exact same armor setup, you have attack on all armor, you use tengen, you use carnage, you have same clan, you have near exact stats on wpn, you have near/exact same level or higher. Only then will things make sense. I'd argue you'd need +8-10 wpn to match dmg seen in footage, carnage got a HUGE nerf. 160 wpn helps in damage too, by then you should do more, probably.
Sorry, didn't mean to imply you cheated. I'm aware I'm doing something wwrong, I just don't know what. I love the spear and I want to perform well with it, but at this rate i think I'll be moving to either the Kusarigama or Sword instead. Like everyone else. Maybe then people will sotp kicking me from Yokai realm games. Heh.
nah spear can do good, just keep trying to perfect things, or switch to another build to perfect the spear stuff, then switch back over. From what I heard using kusa blade spin you'll still be kicked so it's not really better in co-op's case. I would also argue spear to be better than sword atm.
different character. Also I didn't feel like leveling further, the video shows what you can do with average stuff. At max 160+10 wpn and 99 body, etc you'll be stronger for sure.
yokai ccd is fairly common on magatama's/prayer beads. As for "damage from behind", that's damage done TO YOU, not against enemies. Same for "damage from behind" stat on armors. If you press "options/help" button on ps4 and go to the stat, it says what it does, which is different than from armor set bonus (kingo) or on weapons. So definitely not cheating haha, I would say both accessories are pretty mediocre if anything.
+PWARGaming ah okay my Version is the ger Version on this Version is it reduce dmg from behind and dmg from behind is the dmg on the Enemy. Thats why i was cunfused. Sry my mistake and chaeting was a joke bro;) i Love ur vids.
Raven Tengu will always be the true bosses in this game.
I fucking hate them , so OP.
A tengu must die each video.
Their moveset actually becomes quite predictable after some time. Nonetheless, still one of my most feared enemies in the game.
Yea they are predictable but they become so annoying to deal with in combo with other enemies or near any ledges! And they're damage output to what they take is stupid.
I have ptsd from facing Nue with 2 consecutive Raven Tengus in 'Tea Time Entertainment'.
Thank you so much bro the spear is my favorite just cause it's so flashy and I love people's build opinions
on a philosophic note (feel free to remove if you think im off topic xD) i think its a bit astounding that heart and body are diff stats
Video starts at 5:12 thank me later
Thank you now
I'll spank you later
Thanks bro
Any green weapon in this game does 20 k damage when you are using every single Magic buff/debuff at the same time.
I like my mix spear/sword build with the demon king set. It's not maximum damage, but it's aplies elemental damage as well, and I can use the spear for more breack and combos, and the sword for blocks and react to attacks.

I know this is late, but why a wind build with an inherently lightning based weapon?
you should do another high level spear build using raging bull armor or armor of the exceptional warrior. I'm sure you could work something awesome out.
Hi, I'm pretty new at this game. Why don't you use all your Amrita to level up more ?
my biggest complain with the game so far is the fact that once you gear up and maximize your stuff, there's nothing left to do. in souls or diablo once you reach the top you can push further in dificulty so the OP build will eventualy stop being OP. Another awesome upload appreciate ya dude
:)
Really like your build idea and i would like to give it a try.
Is it possible to drop your rev. some place with this gear?
Kind regards.
could you make a spear build for Last Great Generals Armor. Something similar to living weapon/spirit builds. Divine gear though because I know its a pain to get the perfect eathrill drop.
That Ushio To Tora thumbnail tho
👌🏽😩
I am really sad that almost no one uses the axe, I started using the axe just recently and I gotta say, it's one of of the most fun weapon in the game.
not Aisnley Proud axe user. Kaido set ftw
I wonder how well this build would work with the warrior of the east set for the sexy triple scaling in body
Pretty good but as you say, damage output is just lacking a bit with spears. Looks like a fun build. Nice video.
yah, spearfall spam seems to be their only "op" thing about them, and even then you cant really one shot like you can with a sword during a final blow (maybe at +10 but yeesh). You would think a primarily thrusting weapon would be best at stabbing xD
i tried japans 5 pcs + oni sakon + red demon with 4 pcs bonus + kato and i think it was stronger. tanky and big dmg

I might just get this build in a few days lol. So close to 76 in the body stat since the Kusarigama scales a bit with it (Susanoo build) so I can easily switch between the two. Looking forward to using these builds in the DLC haha
going from susanoo to this build? Like riding a lambo then switching to a 2012 honda civic xD
Okay, what is that "Spear Thump" you do when switching from High to Low Stance at 2:35?
That's the first move of Tornado. It makes a tiny shockwave.
Thanks, haven't unlocked that move actually.
Nice! Hey BTW i was going to ask u something... There's this "National Unity" Ability on Demon King Set that says: Increases Speed [Sword of Meditation]

is there a set for each element? I've seen lightning, earth and now wind,I think there's one for fire but I've never seen a bonus while wet
No water, but the rest yah. Raging bull is earth I believe.
damn I love the mask. Strange looking mask ever.
are those paints refashion or are those the original they look dope
refashion. Bowman armor set pants.
How can I get finishing blow damage and damage from behind on armor and weapon? Tried to reforge multiple times but nothing...
Did my guy just say the spear deals less damage than the dual swords??
I was considering to respec my caracther and use the spear, also I'd like to use magic. How I should spread the stats? I should go all for body and magic?
This work in way of the Demond?
wow dude thats awesome , can you give me a guide where to farm for the armor , weapons and accessories??
in the description :)
PWARGaming oh sorry i dont usually read the description 😅
how do you get your hits in being around the thousands? i constantly get 400 ish
same gear? using carnage? have tengen attack buff up? what's your wpn attack? attack on all armor? all that needs to be factored in. Hey PWAR. What does wind element do to enemies? Is there a way to find out what each elements does to yokais/humans?
Well I show it in the video, it reduces damage you take from enemies with wind status. water lowers enemy defense. Lightning slows them down. earth causes them to take more ki damage. and fire deals extra damage over time.
yo bro what spear is that you used to refashion the oni spear over
giant toad (pronounced giant toad) spear. Basically spam the tokai region sub mission till you get his spear.
do u have a mission to farm gallantry armor?
defiled holy mountain, kill ishida.
thanks alot 😁
where do you get your yasakani magatama?
trail of the master trick (youtube if you don't know). You can also do request for ginchiyo/demons daughter mission which has a chance to award a divine accessory. Or you can find it randomly from loot you find in ng+. It's not easy/fast to get in any of the methods.
Yeah, I tried it for 4 hours and never got it. Really sucks
how are you able to unlock the the japans bravest perks when you are only using one piece from the set?
yasakani magatama. divine only charm, reduces set requirements by 1. So it acts as "a piece" for every single set bonus you equip. 2 set bonus only need 1 piece. 4 piece bonus only need 3 pieces of that set. 6 set bonus only need 5 pieces of that set, to activate its 6 piece bonus. etc
what anime is in the thumbnail?
Who's that guy on the cover of the video he had long black hair who was that
I think...ushio was his name? Ushio to tora was the anime/manga, pretty cool yokai series.
I truly do not understand how that much damage is even remotely possible legitly. I have the same armor, weapons, even most of the same stats on my weapons and armor. different character. Also I didn't feel like leveling further, the video shows what you can do with average stuff. At max 160+10 wpn and 99 body, etc you'll be stronger for sure.
Nice vid bro
thanks man!
What game is this
Nioh
we in here
Excuse me, but can i change the head gallantry armor to a omyo headpiece because my omyo headgear has a buff that lets you use omyo magic faster
Overpowered :O
i came because of ushio and tora
Looks like Musa of Black Desert xd
thanks bro I got it lol
Pwar the magatama with ccd yokai and behind damage wtf is this luck true? ^^ Never Seen this shit before :D its really possible or cheating ^^
