I've watched all his videos so many times. He's the most entertaining drummer I've ever watched, and I've watched them all. He's the perfect metal drummer.
Why no mention of him not being mic’d up ? Not only is he as you say not missing a beat but every single beat is the same not once any softer a hit then the one before or after as a life long drummer of rock n roll and metal ( im 52 ) that’s sometimes the hardest thing to do . Cheers for recognizing this man’s talent .

He's using a Yamaha EAD10, which is basically a single mic that can pick up his entire kit. Its on his kick drum.

I believe if you put a machine gun wavelength side by side with Eloy´s playing, a specialist can really point out how similar it is.
