The cinematographer put it best: It was never about Tony, it was about the people and the location. THEY were the stars. And by doing that, by showing their day-to-day lives and showcasing the little details and the hidden treasures, he made you fall in love with almost every place he went to. He showed us, as cliche as it might be, that ppl all around the world are the same, and that the ppl we are with and the ppl we meet are what makes travelling so great
"A tremendous gift, I'll never, ever forget it." Me, too, and millions of fans You were fortunate and blessed Morgan Fallon, thanks for the reflection.
This is what tony brought to us the viewer. What a deal to work with this man, dream job. I remember being enchanted from the first time i saw Anthony Bourdain. Good food good conversation good location.
Tony died on the day of my father's funeral. I came home from the service and saw the news, and as much as I loved my father, I was more leveled by Tony's death. My Dad was 91 and had cancer, so I was prepared, but Anthony Bourdain--suicide? It just seemed impossible. My brother committed suicide a few years ago, and it is so much more painful and difficult when someone decides to die then when they die naturally. There's something so unholy about it. I can't help thinking that he discovered the truth about Asia Argento and the kid, and just couldn't live with it. May God have mercy on his soul.
I miss Anthony Bourdain so much watching his show got me through and had me going on with my life my adventures where better going when he was alive R.I.P Anthony Bourdain gone but not forgotten.
As much as Tony was the show, so was the cinematography, sound and writing. I was mesmerized by the talents of both Tony in front and the entire team behind the lens. Watching the scenes the Parts Unknown team captured, complimented with just ambient sound was pure art. Something that takes talent to recognize and skill to capture. Throughout the years I watched the show progress, the footage expand and the depth of shots and angles grow while maintaining its no gimmick roots. To Morgan Fallon and all the Parts Unknown production team, very simply... Thank you.
I can't even begin to imagine this mans pain at Anthony's passing. Anthony made me feel through his show like I knew him...and I didn't but he truly does.
Marcie Miller I’m so glad it’s not only me, I still watch his shows regularly but as soon as his voice started on this video I felt such a sense of sadness, he is truly missed.
Always loved his work and never missed an episode, but it’s true that we don’t realize the gift of artist and what they provide to the world until they are gone.
Having little to do today but run a few errands, I noticed Anthony Bourdain's last show now featured on Netflix. I had to watch a few episodes, including a favorite one featuring his adventure in Koreatown, laughing and drinking in LA. Watching him again made me feel his radiant presence right through the screen, almost as though he'd never left, like he's just having a beer on some distant beach or veranda in some exotic locale. Even though I could see his tall, lanky frame on the screen, and still hear his mellifluous, resonant voice, he wasn't really there, he's moved on. His life influenced mine in so many wonderful ways, and his sudden passing was a horrible, irretrievable loss. He should have never hooked up with Asia Argento. I'm still crying inside.
I like the way this video was edited, the way it tries to end on a positive note really feels right. He's gone but he's left behind an amazing legacy that inspires hope in future travelers who want to see the world and learn about the world.
Such a beautiful piece. Morgan - the cinematography on 'Parts' (and previous shows) has always been stunning - especially the montages cut to music. So many memorial sights and sounds by you and your team. Thank-you for all you've done and continue to do. Big kudos. And... I'm sorry for the loss of your friend. He was indeed one of a kind. Thanks for sharing your memories...
I'd love to see Parts Unknown eventually continue; I mean it would be such a tremendous thing to try and fill Anthony's shoes, but it would very much be just as great of a series as long as the person in front of the camera, narrating, etc. is as down-to-Earth, honest, kindred, humble, and truly curious as Mr. Bourdain was.
no way that works. a big reason the show worked so well was, as mentioned in this video, the writing. tony has a way with words that i don't think someone else can match. its the same with his books, his writing style was very much his own.
Still a tremendous loss for all who enjoyed his raw content and brand of storytelling. Sorry for your loss of a friend, creator and partner, Morgan. Thank you for being part of telling those stories with Anthony.
Goosebumps! Most important cultural show ever! Kids should watch parts unknown in high school, they would be more open to other cultures, cuisines, languages, music, better people in general.
wow thank you so much for making this video it shows what a lot of people already knew about Tony and how simple and down to earth he really was if there is one thing that I have learn about him is that you could be in a fancy restaurant having a great meal one day and be at a corner stall having a bowl of pho almost sitting on the floor and still be the same man and still enjoy a great meal thank you Tony God bless
I love him more than my father, this man is full of inspiration and seeing how he drew his crem into it just shows how much of a true human being he was. He is nothing like we could ever dream to be, he is once in a lifetime and I will teach my little girl everything I think he wanted to be.
His vacancy is incalculable, but you guys were as much a part of the creation and together made some of the best tv on tv. I hope you keep producing man, can't wait to see what y'all make! 💕💕💕
Tony showed us that all these different people were like us. They all have dreams, worries, hopes, fears. Just like we do. And we ALL want grandma to be bustling away in the kitchen making us our fave meals. That's humanity. Bless you Tony, I wish you could have walked with us a little farther.
Don't hate me for saying this I loved Anthony Bourdain my favorite episode was when they covered his eyes and drove him for a distance , got him out and their were trucks unloading a cargo , as he stood on it and look around he realized what it was , his expression was priceless ….
Dammit, Tony, why'd you have to go? In this age of brand influencers & narcissistic, despotic politicians, we could do with more Bourdains. You are sorely missed.
I want to give a special shout out to Asia Argento for breaking Anthony's heart what led to him taking his own life. Also i want to thank her for the whole #MeToo movement and then get sued by a young men that she sexual assaulted
I wish travelers pursued the art of treading lightly like he did. The disdain for tourists exists because they disrupt the normal rhythm of wherever they go.
I have to wonder why he did it. Such fame and all that goes with it. Not buying the reason was a cheating girlfriend, unless maybe Argento had threatened to blackmail and tear him down for money. This guy was stronger than that. Maybe a health problem or trying to come to terms with his age. It's not easy for anyone. Sad.
dude, its called depression. that's the only reason you need. the majority still doesn't understand the mental illness that is depression which is why people can't understand suicide.
He took his life while on the job, working an episode. That means he was with his crew. They had been together for many years. I find it hard to believe that no one noticed he wasn't doing well. I'm not blaming anyone else for Bourdain's suicide but did no one notice something was off? Like maybe keep a closer eye on him because he seems pretty down? I don't think someone makes that decision spur of the moment, one minute you're in a good mood and then you just decide hey I'm going to end it all as soon as I finish my dinner. His death just seems so odd.
do you understand that people that deal with long term depression are often very good at hiding that they are depressed? maybe nobody could tell, or maybe they did, but you can't be with the person 24/7. anthony went to his hotel like anyone would after a day of work. as far as anyone knows he went to go to sleep for the night just like ALL OF US DO. how in the is someone to predict that would be when he decided to commit suicide?
Please don't misunderstand, I do feel where you are coming from. But don't you think the crew, his friends and family are thinking the same thing? Possibly blaming themselves? Don't make this worse for the people who loved him.
He didn't answer the question I want to know: You, Bordain as a friend, do you believe he killed himself? In the course of your relationship, did he ever allude to suicide as a viable option for ending his personal problems?
I'm not cool with what AB did. He shit all over his legacy and us, frankly. I can't watch any of his great shows again. Of what good is this world if the guy who was telling us how great the world is chopped his own head off? Obviously he was in a world of pain that was greater than the world of pleasure he had always at his disposal. He could have had more respect to his audience rather than choosing to go out as he did. I really liked this guy, now I never want to hear his name. My honest feelings at this moment.
The cinematographer put it best: It was never about Tony, it was about the people and the location. THEY were the stars. And by doing that, by showing their day-to-day lives and showcasing the little details and the hidden treasures, he made you fall in love with almost every place he went to. What a tribute to a remarkable soul.
I missed Anthony, it was my to watch show every Sunday night, and make wonder or dream were to go in this planet.
He influenced me since a cooks tour while I was in Germany trying to understand what it is to be a chef I wanna thanks Tony for everything
Missing you all the time, thank you for open mind and heart to all Human.

Damn I miss this guy. As they say, inside of all of us we all wanted to be a little like anthony bourdain.
He had my dream job
I miss Anthony Bourdain so much watching his show got me through and had me going on with my life my adventures where better going when he was alive R.I.P Anthony Bourdain gone but not forgotten.
He never came off as pretentious. He was humble. He loved and honored people all over the globe. His loss is deeply felt.
I still get a lump in my throat thinking about this great loss. Missing Tony every day.

Damnit.... I still get teary eyed when I think about his passing.
What a legacy to leave behind. Miss you, Tony.
It still breaks my heart. I absolutely love Tony. It is hard to believe. I so miss his voice.
A dream job, making film that matters with a truly special person. I hope this inspires many others to come

This is awesome, thank you for the insight and the lesson
I still don't believe that Anthony bourdain is dead. 😩😩😩😩😩😩

Jimmie Lovett the last season of parts unknown will be tough to watch. It’s edited professionally but no narration from the legend Tony.
