One thing I do is reduce my wheel rotation angle down to like.. 180 degrees. It makes the force feedback much more of a wall at the limit of grip and makes it super easy to not over drive the car

You can do it in AWD cars. My daily race B setup on the 2015 Subaru STi you actually oversteer just slightly coming out of a corner. Brake slightly early, get the front rotated, then aggressively on the accelerator and it comes out of the corner like a rocket.

It took me a half day to really retrain myself to drive in GT7 cause in sport I did kinda the same thing. Over-aggressive driving and oversteer. But ive had a better handle after the fact and I've gotten so much better and faster ever since. MR is no problem at all on this game. The game physics and mechanics of GT7 are absolutely amazing and I'm having way more fun racing and driving than I ever did in Sport

The biggest change I have noticed is the change in braking points and not being able to brake through a corner - gt7 braking through a corner it’s just understeer, so definitely a different driving style needs to be applied/learnt

also FFB doesn't seem to translate the feeling of the wheels skipping along. its really hard to tell when I'm going to lose grip compared to other games.

@@Kireth im starting to. I think all iRacing cars are on slick tires, so it's really only fair to compare the tire model when running slicks (which cost a lot to have on every car in GT7).
cars that are running sport tires feel really unpredictable at times, and I think that's where there's the most adjustment needed. I do think they could increase grip levels on sport-upgraded tires.

Adjusting TYRE sound to +5 in the sound menu has help me judge it better... the sound of the rear tyres seems to be a good indicator of how far you can push it for me.

You can induce oversteer into a corner in the game no problem. You’ll lose time of course. Every Motorsport would get the rear end loose if it saved time but it doesnt. If you’ve ever spent a lap or two on a real race circuit you’ll find this to be true as well. Unless you’re pushing the absolute limits of the car in either situation your lap times won’t be what they could be if you push. Driver61 is a great teaching channel that made me better on a real circuit and even better in sim racing.

On throttle is a lot closer then iRacing. iRacing punishes you if you aren't delicate with the throttle, and we are seeing that on GT7 now. Personally, I found the group 2 cars to be fantastic to drive! Any plans for a controller guide in the future?

Yeah, figured this out with the Nordschelief circuit experience yesterday. Need to really be gentle on the throttle. I could do it in my sleep in GTS, but GT7 it was completely different. Kicked my arse for most of the day until I got the hang of it... I do think they're likely to adjust this in a patch though, even in racing hard tyres at speed it was easy to get the tyres to lose traction.

GTS really gave the driver too much liberty. Many corners in GTS, I could plant the foot down knowing full well that irl, that would result in over steer if not spin out. GT7 reigns that in a lot but IMO, goes a little too drastic in the other direction. Somewhere in the middle ground is where they need to be. The cars in GT7 seem to carry too much weight transfer to the rear. The car should grip up sooner but in the world dynamic setting of GT7, the weight transfer carries on causing oversteer where there should be none.,

GT7 is shockingly bad. The tuning settings are reversed compared to real life.
Brake balance settings are reversed in game, forward oversteer, rearward understeer. Toe-in in game promotes oversteer, in real life it promotes understeer. The settings are just a confusing mess.
Wonky physics and cars that outrageously oversteer and spin out, and having to use ballast to try and limit or control the oversteering aspect also makes this game total trash. This frankenstein of a game is absurd.
