When i started mindful meditation, it didn't work at first but i still kept doing it and now my self-esteem, confident and everything is increasing. Guys who are going through depression, anxiety and any other mental problems, i suggest you to do a mindful meditation just 10 minutes a day. It will change your life!!!

+Darshan Tejani The essence of all meditations (meditation practices) is the same. The form or technique or method might be very different but the essence of all of them is the same. All meditations are about being present, being aware. All meditation practices have the quality of eventually bring the mind to a quieter state. This does not mean that quieting the mind is the goal. Meditation is not goal oriented. It is process oriented. Mindfulness meditation is taught in many youtube videos and on many different websites.
Formal mindfulness meditation usually takes the form of bringing your awareness to the physical sensations of your breathing - The feeling of your breath. You can choose to focus on the feeling of your breath at your nostrils, your chest or your abdomen. Whichever one of those three is easiest for you. Say you choose your abdomen then you become aware of the rise and fall of your abdomen as you breathe. When your mind wanders, which it eventually will, you gently and kindly bring your awareness back to the physical sensations of your abdomen rising and falling. Your mind will probably wander very frequently, when you notice that it has, simply bring your attention back to the feeling of your breathing in a gentle and kind way. Body scan meditations are also part of mindfulness meditation.
That is the process. There is no goal or intended outcome. However there are great benefits from the practice. Other meditation practices, like mantra meditation, are also wonderful practices.

He is no wiser than yourself or anyone around you. But the context of a Zen monastery and his formal position is conditioning you to imagine that. He is not Yoda. Far from it. More like a sociologist with a talent for marketing. Certainly he is intellectually astute and well read, but wisdom is something you project onto him, nothing less.

As I told a friend recently; Once a day has happened it will NEVER come back. And the future hasn't happened yet. Neither yesterday nor tomorrow exists in this moment. Tomorrow is only an expectation and a scenario thought in our heads and sometimes the scenario we paint in our heads frighten us so much that we feel like we have to prepare, then we feel underequipped and get anxiety. And when we dwell on a past event (I have PTSD so trust me I know) then we also keep ourselves in a scenario of pain and suffering.
Stop living life in the space of anticipatory pain.

Well histroy and psychology are different subjects so in history we were taught how and when Buddhism came into existence and Greek history is taught in graduation .lord Buddha we can say that founded Buddhism around 6th century some say around 4-to 5th century. ...Socrates was around 470 BC...we can say that they are contemporary .it would be wrong to compare the Greek philosophers with Buddhism...but they both play an important role in life teachings which is still very much relevant in today's world....correct me if am wrong

    • @DipayanPyne94
      @DipayanPyne94 3 года назад +1

Well, I know that history and psychology are 2 different fields. My point was that psychology itself has a history and Buddha is an extremely important part of it. His contributions to psychology are the most unique in the history of mankind. Ancient Greek philosophers like Plato and Aristotle made their own contributions to the field and that is mentioned in psychology courses, isn't it ? So, I really wanna know if Buddha is also mentioned. You see, Buddha's contributions to psychology have been acknowledged quite recently. I was wondering if the acknowledgement has reached college/university textbooks in India.
Anyway, just so you know, it is not really wrong to compare the Greek philosophers with Buddha. Scholars have already done that and there are many similarities and differences. Buddha's Ethics, for eg, is similar to Aristotle's Virtue Ethics. There are also many similarities between Buddha's teachings and those of the Stoics and the Epicureans, probably because of an Indian influence on Greece via Pyrrho. Long story ...

I picked up a copy of a book a few years back when I was in business school in Barcelona called "mindfullness in the marketplace" to better be a conscious consumer and make sure that I was doing my part to support SDG 12- responsible consumption & production and make values based judgements in my role as a consumer. EQ is just as important as IQ, CQ, CQ, AQ, and SQ.

We can become enlightend, rich, or even killed at any moment. To enjoy life we have to appreciated it giving us all the options. Life is greatfull enough to give us the freedom of our death. To be onest death is such a natural process it's not that big of a deal. We condition ourselfs to such but we where dead longer than we are alive so... Why would it not be a home welcoming process. Live happy die happy!! Fearless happiness.

Very educative. I do research on how Buddhism disappeared in Bihar. I realized it never disappeared from Bihar. Buddhists simply failed to research Indian Buddhism. They looked at Buddhism through the sphere of their own cultures searching for only the Buddha. Buddha had a myriad of names in different villages according to his teachings there. Example. His favorite teaching was 'Lust and desire causes pain. Remove lust and desire, and pain is removed'. Translated into Bihari (where the Buddha story took place) it is DHUKH HARAN meaning to remove dukha. Three dozen villages pray to DUKH HARAN Baba. Its clear that DUKH HARAN Baba is none other than the Buddha. Problem is Buddhists are searching only for the Buddha. In the real Vaishali the Buddha begged for alms. The locals there pray to 'BHIKHAINI' Baba (Beggar Baba). Bhikhaini was mispronounced by Buddhists as Bhikshu. Who is BHIKHAINI Baba. The Buddha no doubt. But people are searching for a man called Buddha. In the real Vaishali, in Beluha the Buddha suffered a sickness and felt he had grown old. The locals pray to 'BURHA' Baba (Old Baba). Who is BURHA Baba. The Buddha no doubt. In the real Vaishali the Lichavies pressurized Buddha not to die. They trailed him to Bandagawan pressurizing him not to die. To put pressure in Hindi is DABESHWAR. Three dozen villages around the stupa where Buddha gave the Lichavies his patra, the villagers pray to Baba 'DABESHWAR NATH' meaning the man who won the pressurizing game. It was the the Buddha no doubt as he gave the Lichavies his patra and succeded in sending them back. But Buddhists are searching for the Buddha. Forgive me for commenting out of the topic. I just wanted to impart this information to you.

I want to ask you a question, are you still practicing meditation or just motivated by this vedio. I am very excited when I listen his speach. I really want to know how many of you still continuing. It is very good if you carry on. Don't react to the situation, feel each and every situation of your life in a positive way then you will feel very happy and become very strong, confident, brave what not. You will become what ever you want. Just keep on smile. Just enjoy your life the way you want. Don't think that what other people might think of me. Just leave all those things. I am really sorry if I hurt anyone. It is just my suggestion. You can practice if you like it. Thank you

there is no past and futur. There is only now. All the things that happened in the past, you remember or relive them NOW, all the things you plan, fear or dream of for the futur, you experience it NOW. And if that certain event in the futur is finally there, it is also NOW, so you better make your NOW worth living.

Kris C Well, we got senses to perceive now, yes... but we also got a hippocampus who stores memories. And that function is just as real as your other parts of the brain who interprets sensory information... But yes, we do live in an eternal now, whether you are busy sensing things or thinking things... That's because conciusness is a constant. The only constant in your existence. Except it's not there when you sleep...

Happiness is moment not for period of time or years. People want it as long lasting but not possible to have it in this Earth. Rather contentment make us less restless and make feel reality of life. No one will be able to find it but people continuously search it in case they find lifetime happiness. Be hungry and busy with making and breaking anxiety less attack.

Maybe this will help me when the person I am living with is screaming and yelling at me and telling me I'm a piece of sh*t.

So if we wake up relaxed should we wait till later in the day to mediate or just go ahead and do as often as we want or can ?

Do you believe life should be taken as a game?
Because on one hand it makes life much less serious and it helps you focus on your goals.
But on the other hand it leads to rejecting compassion and putting your wants above the need of others and you become selfish and manipulative.
    Please share your thoughts!

I didn't quite grasp how the present can determine the past? 🤔

    • @kail9777

My understanding of it is that your current actions will determine consequences that as time moves forward becomes your past. If you study for an exam for example, you will have in your past a test that was better taken than otherwise etc.

Being mindful is this: Obi-Wan: I have a bad feeling about this. Qui-Gon Jinn: I don't sense anything. Obi-Wan: It's not about the mission, Master. It's something elsewhere, elusive. Qui-Gon Jinn: Don't center your anxieties Obi-Wan, keep your concentration on the here and now where it belongs. Obi-Wan: But Master Yoda said i should be mindful of the future. Qui-Gon Jinn: But not at the expense of the moment. Be mindful of the living Force, young Padawan. --- Star Wars Ep 1.

Try to increase your meditation practice gradually. Start from 5 mins a day to 10mins to 15mins. And from this presentation one of the slide shows that 20-30mins is the optimum time to meditate as it releases upsurge of carbon dioxide in your brain resulting in a more relaxed state.

How can you relax and be calm in your present moment when your present moment is a bad problematic situation? I would think you would want to get away from your "Now" instead of focusing on it.

Once you can focus it's easier to make your present a better situation. Reality I as you make it. When you only know chaos, you'll only experience such. But once you calm the mind n focus on a better present you will see a huge difference. Our leaders have learned how to make a perceptive reality that benefits them. Because it keeps you following in line.

One can learn oneself to be present. But all this moment and present moment talk makes me crazy. Because I can't find no present moment, no matter how hard I try. CAN SOMEONE PLEASE SHOW IT TO ME!?
    Where the f*** is it!!?
Is it now ? What about now ? Is it still here? Oh wait, now it's gone again. But there it is again, but now it's gone again... I can't find it, I can't grab it. I don't understand it... Where is it ?
