Midazolam! Why John Campbell is a DISGRACE to the nursing profession.
HTML-код
- Опубликовано: 20 май 2024
- Medical professionals in the UK and around the world did their absolute best for their patients during the pandemic, but Covid can be a deadly disease, particularly in those who are unvaccinated.
Providing palliative care and ensuring that people can pass peacefully and not in pain and distress is something that all compassionate medical professionals support. Trying to twist this vital care into something else just to get views from antivaxxers is simply disgraceful. And yet that is what Dr John Campbell has done in his Midazolam video. Dr Susan Oliver and Cindy the dog go back to the science to show that his claims are absurd and abhorrent.

I hope you enjoyed the video. A few people have mentioned in the comments that they'd prefer to listen to Cindy than me, so I let her present a couple of slides.
For those who don't know, Dr. OLIVER IS NOT PART OF THE CONSPIRACY. She makes these videos under duress. CINDY OLIVER, however, is deep in the rabbit hole. (It's in the breed, it's just their instinct.) CINDY is part of a large underground network of housepets who concocted covid-19 as a way to enforce lockdowns and prevent their owners from leaving them behind each day while they go to work. This may be my last post after exposing Agent CINDY. Please, send coffees and treats, it may be the only thing keeping Dr. OLIVER safe.
Cindy is more educated & rational than nurse John :P :D

Oh no. This is truly disgusting. Bedside RN here.
I looked at the paper and noted the single author. I believe there were distinct anti-vax views presented later in the paper if I recall correctly. John's title was "mida". I wonder why he abbreviated it? John is fully in the rabbit-hole.
Most likely he did not want to to draw the attention of doctors and scientists to it when he first uploaded it, and report it as misinformation, and risk RUclips removing it and giving him a strike for misinformation. When it stayed up, he became emboldened and changed the title, to draw in more clicks.

Incredible! Does this show that nurses don't need to major in research to any extent as part of their training/education? How can a nurse actually believe this stuff if they remotely understood any of the data...never mind how he would actually believe colleagues to be capable of this!
Nurses, like medical doctors, are practitioners not researchers. They get pretty minimal research methods training - less than, say, a first-year psychology undergraduate. Campbell _should_ have substantially improved his research knowledge and skills when working towards his doctorate, but apparently he didn't.
In the US, a doctorate in Education is obtainable with seriously low standards. I was told by my department head, "just find an old study and rerun it. Either agree or disagree with its conclusions"
@@BigBoaby-sg1yo Not if their training is primarily in practice. An MD is not a PhD.
@@BigBoaby-sg1yo Research is a polysemous word. Here we are talking about scientific research, as in primary empirical data collection and analysis. We are not talking about literature research (i.e. reading - obviously medics read things) or taking a patient history (which is not research). Learn to understand context.
@@BigBoaby-sg1yo The flu was where it always is: circulating among the general population. What point do you think you're making?
Some context for the medications described, all of which are used as required (not automatically) for symptom control in good quality palliative care:
Midazolam is used for agitation.
Antimuscarinics are used for respiratory secretions (common in people succombing to respiratory infections)
Haloperidol is an antipsychotic but for palliative care is used in low doses for anti sickness effect. Higher doses help with delerium but it isn't clear from the video what the prescribing indications were.
My best friend and wife are both GPs. Covid tore through care homes with devestating effect. One dementia care home locally lost 27/30 residents, most of whom could not be certified as covid due to a lack of covid testing, contrary to conspiracy theorist claims. It isn't surprising that GP prescribing of end of life care drugs increased. JC could ask some pallitive care doctors or GPs for their perspectives, but he won't. Clearly his wish for investigation for this correlation doesn't extend to asking anyone who provided care to patients.
Campbell doesn't need to "ask". He knows the facts. He's deliberately telling lies
In fact, he says he did speak to them.
I've always thought that hearing from Campbell's previous colleagues would be very illuminating about what kind of person and professional he is. Maybe this latest ridiculousness will encourage some to come forward.
He must have been an "interesting" work colleague.
"Let's see what prompted this latest outburst".
Cuts to John reading an article about "Excess Deaths".
Sigh...
Get out the umbrellas.
So glad you had Dr. Howard on. Think we need to remember how bad Covid was in 2020. Especially remember the over 3500 health care workers in the U.S. who died from Covid taking care of others.
Amazing how quickly we forget!
True. Not to be forgotten are the health care workers who suffer and struggle with long covid, even now. Sick leave among patient facing staff within the NHS is at record highs mostly because of long covid. They have been terribly let down by their employers that continue to deny their employees PPE and clean air at work.
This means that of every 42 healthcare workers that died that year 1 died of covid.
Sad how the CDC new of the adverse reactions to Moderna. Good to see that AstraZeneca last week acknowledged in court that its Covid vaccine can cause a rare blood clotting condition.
😂😂😂😂
Thanks for another very informative debunking, Dr Oliver and Cindy. The people and claims that Campbell is attaching himself to grow ever more shocking.
that recap of Campbell's early covid video is so mind blowing. He even puts into reference how the early data is limited (just to New York City) etc... so like he CAN be reasonable... its insane and psychologically fascinating how the increase in his youtube revenue stream has easily corrupted him within such short time. well, at least that is the only explanation I can think of... and of course having a flock of followers that adore and appeal to his ego, I guess. Wild.
He is also not very knowledgeable or bright. That definitely did not help.
Campbell started out doing mostly-correct but simplistic overviews, having slightly more knowledge than the average person. By the time Ivermectin became a talking point, he was at best absolutely out of his depth and commenting on papers that he clearly didn't have the research knowledge and skills to understand. He bought into Ivermectin, despite the evidence _even in the papers he was citing_ showing clearly that it does nothing to help prevent or treat Covid, and spiraled downwards from there into complete anti-science crankery.
Although he said this data only applies to NYC, as you say, he immediately extrapolated the data to everywhere. He was always a little bit shit even when he had good intent.
Greed plus ego, a bad combination.
Which is exactly what you're doing here.
My mum had a midazolam injection before she died , but she was very stressed and in pain and this was given by a hospice to make her last hours better. She was told she was going to die of heart failure 6 months before she passed and she was 94 . The last couple of days she was crying out and didn’t recognise my brother and I , the hospice administered midazolam and morphine and she went of into a deep sleep and passed away . She did not have Covid but had been vaccinated against it . Midazolam is used at and end of life sedation it helps the dying and helps the families seeing thier loved one in less distress.
If its a "let them die in peace" medicine, why was it used against covid?
Yes it is as you say and the issue is that it is used to prematurely end life too and/or to cover up plausibly-deniable medical malpractice.
You are all making rationalizations for what was once called "euthanasia" and is now "end of life care". Think about what you ae all doing.
@@marisamartin3664 lol . Before posting check and learn at least a few things about the topic so you don’t look so completely silly . It’s obvious you do t even have the first clue about the issue . No wonder you make an easy target for the con man Campbell
The minds of certain ppl as to what happened during the COVID-19 pandemic were deleted. No way can anyone, especially a(n) (ex) nurse, just not realize how bad it was... Plus, if needed any more evidence of his quackery, just compare him now to his old videos, when he didn´t spew BS (Thank you Dr. Susan, for reminding us of a golden era John)...
Susan, you missed something.
On the title page of the paper (time 4:30), it's stated that the article was submitted on Jan 20 and accepted on Jan 25. Obviously peer review was not done. Many other papers in this journal are similar, with 5 to 10 days between submission and acceptance.
I have contacted the journal, asking them how they can claim to be peer reviewed when many -- and perhaps all -- of the papers are not peer reviewed. So far, no response.
"Obviously peer review was not done"
Well, theoretically it can be done in such a short time frame - there are some journals that can do this with some papers, especially if they know the paper is coming (peer reviewers in place), it is considered enormously important, and the authors are very competent. See the first paper on PCR of SARS-CoV2 by Corman et al.
"So far, no response."
How surprising! /sarc
@@Marco-it2mr
A typical round of peer review usually includes the following steps:
1. Editor reads manuscript to see if it's suitable to proceed.
2. Editor finds peer reviewers.
3. Peer reviewers perform and return their evaluations.
4. Editor reads reviews and makes recommendation of what to do with the paper.
5: A decision of what to do next is made, often by a more senior editor.
6. If revision is needed, authors edit and return revised manuscript plus point-by-point responses to reviews.
Typically two or three rounds of review are needed.
This means the whole process typically takes a few months. Five days is nearly impossible. That most of the papers (from the few monthly issues I examined) were accepted within 10 days of submission tells me that peer review wasn't being done, as no journal can review that many papers that fast. Not possible.
@@stewarttrickett3033 As someone with plenty of papers, I know it usually takes months. A short turn-over for one paper is, however, not a red flag as such. The short tunr-over for ALL the papers in this journal is, of course, a red flag.
@@stewarttrickett3033 The journal is published by a company run by 6 employees and is owned by a Chiropractor.
@@Marco-it2mr
A quick perusal of their articles show that at least half of the papers were accepted within 10 days of submission. That's not a red flag, that's an air raid siren.
Always appreciated
The only question remaining for me is why isn’t this man called before the medical council and brought to task for his regular misinterpretation of data and dangerous influence over the anti vax gullible. Such influence may well cost lives in future but he has the audacity to accuse serving nurses of illegal euthanasia too.
How far over the line does he need to venture before he is stripped of his doctorate, his confirmation of credibility.
In my own profession such rogue misrepresentations would not be tolerated without official sanction.
Brilliantly and so clearly dissected Susan. So interesting as a lead anti vaxer he presents graphs which destroy his own arguments and instead show just how effective multi vaccinations have been in saving lives, something which logical sensible people have realised for a long time now.
But not apparently if you make money by representing a minority rogue view contrary to the vast majority of true medical doctors and practitioners who had to live through the awfulness of it at its worst.
"the medical council "- unfortunaely, they have nothing to say about a nurse. And the nursing council doesn't seem to be too interested to do anything, because he's not an active nurse.
"How far over the line does he need to venture before he is stripped of his doctorate, his confirmation of credibility."
This discussion is actually quite old: there are no clear professional rules regarding revoking PhD degrees, because a PhD degree is not a profession. You can have a MD degree, but not be allowed to practice medicine, because you do not have a license. If you cannot get a license due to various forms of misconduct or malpractice, you still retain your MD.
Because it's not misinterpretation. If you're wondering about the efficacy of vaccines just look to Israel. They didn't emerge from the pandemic any sooner than the rest of the world.
@@steinarnielsen8954 Israel is a poor example, at the national level. There are some groups where almost 100% of those eligible are vaccinated and other groups where almost none are vaccinated; mainly because of ethnic and religious reasons. Those vaccinated fared much better than the unvaccinated, but the latter kept the virus circulating, until the immunity acquired from infection accumulated sufficiently to reduce the time relative R number to below 1.
@@Marco-it2mr He “pretends” to be an authority, implies he is a medical doctor though, surly he must be bound by some medical authority control. It’s not my area, so what is it? Surely a body confirming a doctorate should have the ability to strip it too if that individual is operating contrary to their standards, retired or not. Because it’s that qualification he obviously relies on heavily to validate his constantly discredited opinions.
There must be some control from his professional body in the public interest and failing that control of the media he exploits to spread his misinformation.
No one can be above the law, this isn’t simply about freedom of speech he is alleging NHS staff murdered people now. He is dangerously out of control with his wrongful influence.
If he cannot be stopped from doing this our laws need to be revised. Why aren’t the medical profession outing him officially. It should not be left to the good offices of the likes Susan here to do the graft of unravelling his falsehoods and debunking the lies and behalf of sensible public awareness. The system clearly lacks adequate control.

14:33 if someone actually looked at the old Liverpool Care Pathway they would see that this has happened for many years, John Campbell would be aware of this as well. There’s no point in waiting for a doctor, whether in hospital or in the community, to prescribe such medication when it’s actually needed as that would be too late to relieve suffering. It happens in other circumstances as well, for instance a person who has a compromised immune system and is likely to develop pneumonia regularly will have an anticipatory prescription for antibiotics at hand such that they can get the medication before it becomes critical.
You are right this is probably the lowest Campbell has ever stooped to. So there is a correlation between people given end of life palliative care and death. WTF would you expect.

😂😂😂😂
Even the journals website looks like it was made in MS Paint and has a gmail email account. Completely amatuer.
We have a huge issue across the world with people, who don't know much but have huge confidence and a lack of people who do have the knowledge, being in the same room at the same time and confident enough to challenge the guy at the front talking BS.
We need more people like you, Dr Oliver. Please keep going!!
Always a reliable source for demonstrable debunking of social media grifters and ignoramuses. Keep 'em coming.
Your hard work to accurately set the story straight and hold disgraceful profiteers like Campbell to account is really appreciated by so many of us. Thanks again Dr Oliver for the interesting and important video!
Publishing this paper destroys any possible credibility that journal might have had. This is how a journal tells you what it really is, which in this case it's a business, focused only on making money. Might as well have published in Cureus or Medical Hypothesis.
The horrible thing about Cureus is that it IS on the Master journal list of Clarivate. Medical Hypothesis is Elsevier.
@@Marco-it2mr Yep, Elsevier has a lot to answer for. Clarivate is a business first, not a scientific organization.
@@jaykanta4326 Clarivate is, however, THE benchmark for getting an impact factor.
@@Marco-it2mr Yeah, I think that's got to change. Impact factors are becoming meaningless when so many known predatory journals have IF's above 2. They're gaming the system
@@jaykanta4326 The IF of this particular journal is just a made-up number that is unrelated to how Clarivate determines impact factors.
When I first heard you say that you’d thought that Campbell could not sink any lower, I thought “Susan might be having cognitive issues; it would be *impossible* to sink any lower”
15 seconds later I ate my words. Holy crap!
I remain impressed by your cognition, and am thankful for your good work. 🙏
Dr Crapbell strikes again, accusing medical colleagues of euthanasia. Would be better if he talked about something else, and stopped trying to maintain his cash flow with lies. Thanks once again Dr Oliver. Perhaps we could have Dr C's views on youthinasia, bet he is an expert on that too.
_"Would be better if he talked about something else"_
Whenever he does this, the number of views drops dramatically. He and his followers simply can't have that. His video about hiking the Darwin Trail from three weeks ago had around 71,000 views.
To make up for this low, he has to talk about even worse anti-vaxxer nonsense.
Dr Campbell has in fact talked about euthanasia. He even did it during the 1st wave of the pandemic.

Very much undervalued she is.
The "Scientific community" should do more on an organized basis to counter pseudoscience.
For sure the comedy value is priceless :)
Here just for Buzznarrownind is a quote from Plato on ignorance
“A man may truly say that ignorance is a third case of crimes. Ignorance, however, may be conveniently divided… into two sorts: There is simple ignorance, which is the source of lighter offenses, and double ignorance, which is accompanied by a conceit of wisdom; and he who is under the influence of the latter fancies that he knows all about matters of which he knows nothing. This second kind of ignorance, when possessed of power and strength, will be… the source of great and monstrous crimes…”
Can I have a ❤ please Susan?
A healthy society should strive to help all its members reach their full potential and contribute meaningfully, not relegate some to a permanent underclass. Providing quality education, mental health support, and economic opportunities benefits everyone by expanding the pool of capable, productive citizens. However, I get this feeling that in some countries, there is a definite imbalance that's then exported via social media on a global scale.
I'm disappointed that nursing bodies are so tardy in criticizing Retired Nurse Campbell.
He brings the whole nursing profession into disrepute.
I'm also disappointed but the nursing profession is well regarded. If anything their standing in the community rose with the pandemic and they deserve our support in the face of antivax attacks and government cuts.
@@peterbrockway5990 I was in hospital recently and was treated with the utmost kindness, humanity and professionalism by all the nursing staff.

Thanks Dr Oliver. Great work again showing Campbell for the grifter he is. ❤

Three People who I have followed during the pandemic have reached the top 100 influencers in health (Time 100 Health):
- Katelyn Jetelina.
- Peter Hotez.
- Eric Topol.
Thanks.
I'm a little jaded by such lists, although they do have value if they introduce Time's readers to people they should take note of.
In particular the political slant of the magazine is reflected in the easy combination of politicians and rich donors with scientists and others who work selflessly. Unless I am missing someone they pick and choose what counts as health, ignoring the ongoing climate emergency, gun violence, homelessness, etc. Pursuing a challenge to the view "that people are wired to focus on when things go wrong and when they don’t work" they omit the thing which stands out as having gone wrong: the spread of medical misinformation. Indeed it is Time's own watchwords of "Trust" and "impact" that have assumed the malignant forms of "Grift" and "Clout".

John showing us what a big L looks like
As a nurse involved in caring for end of life care ”Dr” nurse Campbell's accusations are completely egregious. There is very strict criteria and guidelines for prescribing and administring anticipatory medications not to mention legislation and ethics involved.
Nurse Campbell obviously has no personal professional experience of this aspect of care. He is speaking outside of his sphere of competence yet again.
Has the NMC struck him off the register yet??!!
He’s still on the register, I don’t think his Adult Nurse registration lapses until April next year, he’s obviously paid his registration fee for this year. His mental health nurse registration lapsed July last year.
It’s just nasty.

Not actually true. I support this channel and I also disapprove of many of Jordan Peterson's right-wing views. However, the attempt to censor Mr. Peterson was motivated by disapproval of his political views, not because he was "spreading lies and misinformation" related to his profession.
