Thank you so much for your video. I am actually specifically planning to visit Zagreb, hopefully later this year, in order to stay in this hotel, as just a few years ago I learned that my great great grandfather's brother, Otto Rehnig, was the original architect (he also designed its sister hotels, the Esplanade and the Excelsior in Berlin, which were partially and entirely destroyed in WWII bombings, respectively. -- The Berlin Esplanade was used for the filming of some scenes in the Liza Minelli movie "Cabaret," though in the movie the setting was portrayed as being The Excelsior.) I've been meaning to go, since I learned about this (I live in the US, near Philadelphia), but I believe it was not long before the pandemic started that I first learned this fact and asked my Dad about this, and I am finally finding the time to plan to visit Europe again. I am so psyched to visit. Besides the hotels, I have been told that Otto Rehnig designed a bunch of smaller buildings, including government buildings, in Germany most of which were destroyed in WWII bombings.
Hi Tom, that is an awesome hotel. If I ever get to Zagreb, I will certainly look them up. I wonder if went there, maybe I could book into Room 513?? LOL. Actually, when you think of it, Room 513 may have had many famous people staying there. Certainly a beautiful place. Those circular chandeliers look interesting. Thanks again for another excellent video. All the best, Rob.
It is my favorite hotel in Zagreb. Of course I am citizen of Zagreb... Next time check out the Palace hotel... My second favorite... They are old hotels... Both of them.

Thanks for the close look! While it’s very elegant, I much prefer modernist luxury, so I must say I don’t actually like it.
