I remember when the aircraft came to Dyess. Very proud for your dad that he had that opportunity, and there is now always a memory of him right there in the park. As always, you did a great job.
Thank you for this video Sir, I was in the USAF and when stationed at George AFB California we had 105's and F-4's, I went on to RAF Lakenheath England for 3 years where they had the F-111's but I will always remember the "Thud", anyways, I Salute your father for his proud service to this great country and salute you for remembering that plus sharing it with us, thank you!
I grew up in Runnels County, TX in the mid 50s- late 70s. Our ranch was just about directly south of the runways at Dyess and we had a steady parade of Air Force planes flying overhead. My father was a retired Army Master Sergeant so we went to Dyess for the PX, commissary, to get our haircuts and go to the NCO club for lunch. 0:37 is the F-101 Voodoo. It was my favorite airplane of the day. I think I just thought the name was cool. The airpark didn't exist at that time, but there was a static display of the F-105, F-101 and others (I recall a B-47 and a B-36) on base.
Awesome video and reading a book on f105 pilots they were a crazy awesome plane that carried it's own weight despite it's flaws! Also I love finding displays like this or gate guardians!

I was in that squadron much later on, flying the A-10. I looked up to men like Col. Wright. Godspeed sir !

I was stationed at Dyess 1994-1997. Awesome to hear the story of a plane I drove by many times.
Very cool !

Nice to have a tribute F-105. The Thunderchief was BIG and fast, the opposite of the F-104.
I've been on the Dyess walk. The yellow rose reinforced my love of "The Thud" and if iirc it was built around the time I was born in 1960!
