Deserves it. He had a bit of a rough time constantly being compared to Mike Trout (even though Mike entered the year before Bryce), who's a generational player up there amongst the greatest to ever play. Harper has still managed to win a RotY, two MVPs, and has compiled 42.5 WAR before he's hit 30. He's likely Cooperstown-bound even if he isn't inner-circle, and something like his epic playoffs output this year really helps cement the legend, especially if they win. If the Phillies do, it's on his back. His brand and image are really built for this stage, moreso than Trout, and as a Nats fan, it's been very fun watching him tear it up this year.

@@jeffhenderson5995 For real, he isn't even overrated. You can't compare anyone to Trout, and I feel like it was just unfair that people did compare them. Even then, Harper is still an elite player and up there as one of the best in the game right now. He's got a career .913 OPS and only ever once had an OPS under .800 in a season (2014) but he came back and won MVP the next season, anyways. He's been consistently good. He isn't overpaid, either. He's underpaid if anything. An AAV of $25.4 million a year for a .913 OPS player is crazy and the Phillies got him for cheap.

If they win this whole thing after starting the season 21-29 and firing their manager, then being the last team to qualify for the postseason plus having to play mostly road games (never a home field advantage since they are the lowest seed) then yes, absolutely. However, if both Painter and Abel come up and continue to pitch as dominate as they have in the minors then we are in for some very good future seasons. We might have a 3-5 year window of Nola, Wheeler, Suarez, Painter, and Abel with Harper.

Bryce Harper: post season DH king and.....hitting coach as well? Hmmm, what inside skinny did he give Bohmer to attack the first pitch in his AB?
Side bar: that was a neat tidbit about how Bryce's eyesight was so poor when he first started in the minors, for those of you who missed it. Never would have guessed since I've never seen him in glasses so he must really prefer contacts. Whatever works and has him hammering postseason HRs is fine with me.
BTW, Ranger Suarez for player of the game. I know Bryce got the fans into the game early, but Suarez set the tone and kept the lid on the talented Astros lineup. Calm and collected.
