That cross hatch technique to square off the dough is neat, never thought of doing it that way.

I mean, the 'bread' they were making looks a lot like puff pastry, or a similar pastry dough, so I'm surprised they actually cut the edges when they were laminating it. Still, looks beautiful.
(Also, holy moly, that's a huge butter block)
The bread is this way because of the enormous gluten content, even before they mixed and then kneaded the dough, you could see them pouring the flour onto what is essentially a big block of glutenized flour
@@FedoraSpunk I don't think the gluten content changes the way you laminate the pastry though? I was taught that you want to seal the dough seams around the butter block before you laminate it, but I've never worked in an environment like this, so they might just have a different technique for it.

I never thought of putting nutella and peanuts together, but after watching this, it's so tempting 😃 I'm off to search a recipe to make this at home.
I feel like all you need is puff pastry (judging by the way they made it with butter layers), "diced" peanuts and Nutella :]
@@peasbowl Exactly :D I think I saw they added yeast to the dough, so it's not traditional puff pastry. But I'd still rather try to make any puff pastry from scratch than buy the premade version full of horrible ingredients 😅 Nutella is bad enough, so at least pastry could be improved 😁
@@yvelleartstudio I'm fairly confident that you can just make a spreadable chocolate yourself as well, considering that people can make caramel sauce ! :] Good luck!!!
