😥 I have stopped in countless old cemeteries to see them and the forgotten people of the past, but I never expected to find this. I've never seen anything quite like it. Walked around for a few minutes thinking. But once all the pieces started coming together and I realized what i was looked at, it definitely hit hard. It was at a children's hospital last year. Ive done them before, but now with kids of my own. These places are much more emotional. Thinking of these parents that would spend a day with thier kid, but have to go home alone at night. I ended up walking around and filming, but I couldn't do the whole building. I just had to leave after a while😥
Did not expect all this. Thought it was one of those cool cemeteries we come across. But walking into those tiny stones with just numbers, then piecing everything together with the crosses and signs. Kinda hit hard. These were just babies. My friend contacted the local historical society, they said it was just over 1100 children. So sad. But they are currently in the process of recovering areas.
The energy there must be intense. People gathered there to bury their babies. I don't believe anyone "haunts" their burial sites, but I believe in intense emotions left behind.
Definitely had a sad somber, feeling to it. But I don't know if that was just me thinking. Also the way you described that is perfect. I have been in countless abandoned hospitals and not so great places over the years. I've never seen ghosts or talked to ghosts like everybody seems to find. But some of these hospitals I can walk down hallways and go into identical room after room. And it's not very common, but every once in a while I could step foot into a room that is identical to the last 20 I just saw and I just get a horrible scared or unwanted feeling. I really don't know how to explain what it's like, but everything in my head just started spinning and I don't like it. I've seen a handful of unexplainable things. But I'm not really sure I believe in ghosts like the way everybody portrays it. I think it's more like what you said, people sit in these rooms for decades undergoing horrible treatment and whatever. But where does all that emotion or fear go. Is it just something mentally in somebody's head, or does it absorb into the surrounding walls? Room after room, building after building, they all look pretty much the same, but like I said, once in a while there's that one place that you just don't feel comfortable in🤷
It was extremely sad to come across. We usually stop when passing an old cemetery, But definitely did not expect to see that section in there. My friend reached out to the historical society in the area., They said there was about eleven hundred marked graves with children 😥 I guess the numbers on the stones instead of names were more cost-effective for the families that didn't have much or anything. So sad to see, but like you said at least they got a proper burial. But still, It killed me to see stones with the dates so close together, just wasn't expecting it😢
We always stop at old graveyards as we passed them in our travels. Seen a lot of cool stuff, seen a lot of creepy stuff. But nothing like this. Totally did not expect to see this when we went in. One of my friends reached out to the local historical society, And they said there was something like eleven hundred Children's graves that they know of. It was. Mostly immigrant family's In the late eighteen and early nineteen hundreds. He said the numbered stones here was a more cost effective way for then to have a proper burial for thier young. So sad to think about those times of people just trying to make it in a new world with nothing around them. They had to work and live off of the ground and whatever was being built. Tuff times we will never fully understand.
I haven't see anything quite like this either. Stopped like we usually do when we pass an old grave yard, But was definitely not expecting to walk into anything like this.. Really sad , especially when we saw so many were just numbers. And I guess it was a cost effective solution for families in the 1800 and early 1900s. A lot of them were immigrant families.
My friend had reached out to the town's historical Society and they said it was a lot of poor families and Immigrants just trying make it. when they would have a death in the family, that cemetery had more affordable options. Hence the smaller stones and just numbers rather than names. And being the 1800s, a flu or some type of sickness could have absolutely come through with a lot of them? Truly heartbreaking to see , but i'm glad they were even able to get burials in a cemetery
Yes, basically what the previous comment said. My friend did reach out to the historical society in the town and we got a little bit more information. About two thirds of the graves were from the 1800s. Smaller stones and just numbers were more cost effective for 1800s families. Now this part they didn't say, but you got to figure back then it was all immigrants just trying to make a living in a new world I would assume. I love old graveyards just because of their beauty, but I did not expect to find this. I expect to find people from thier 20s to thier 80s. This place kind of hit me when I saw all those stones and started piecing it all together 😥❤️
My friend had gotten ahold of the historical society and asked about it. I guess it's just over 1000 children, 2/3 of which were from the 1800s. The latest was in the 1960s. And the numbering was just a more affordable way for those who didn't have a lot. It was probably all immigrants at that time. 😥
😢

That is a sad graveyard! One positive thing is that it doesn’t look like it’s been vandalized at all👍 Hopefully it stays that way!

That is a lot of little babies... I've seen babylands and the such in cemeteries... But nothing this large or with numbers...
I haven't see anything quite like this either. Stopped like we usually do when we pass an old grave yard, But was definitely not expecting to walk into anything like this..

What was happening in the 1800s 😢
a lot of disease with no cure, so very sad.

It's terrible to see so many, I'm wondering if there was a wave of illness at that time like typhoid or something.
My friend had gotten ahold of the historical society and asked about it.
