      50 armor in the legs you say. My 76 pinpoint Summoner will LOVE those legs. I tend to take legs off of everything. 1) it can't chase me down if it's missing a leg. 2) all mechs die faster when you sweep the legs off. For example, if you had ripped the leg off that Viper instead of farming, you would have likely kept your torso in that match.
      Thanks for the info on it. Much appreciated as is the content.

      i went with 2 uac 10 and 2 Light AC5 this way i could fit a light engine in and you get freedom for stuff like jumpjets, ams and 5 er med or 5 small lasers wichever you prefer. sure the 4 ballistic do only 50 alpha instead of 60, but at least the light AC cant jam lol

    Valid points and well demonstrated. I don’t often play assaults but I see the same loadout as a Madcat Mark 2 B except 10 tons heavier than the Mk 2 ,slower, and less agile.

    Ugh. This one is such a struggle. I’ve tried a LOT of builds. Best I did was a 4xLAC5 and 5MPLS but it was soooo slow, then the other best was 4RAC2 and 3MLas but too much facetime with those side torsos. Fighting my way through the Battlepass.
    The Ferroblast is so stupid fun though.

    I’ve had some limited luck with a dual HG/5 ERML build. Can fit three JJ, so mainly good for pop-tarting, although there are probably other IS mechs that do the same thing better. Definitely needs a quirk pass.

    It frustrates me so much that this Stone Rhino is remarkably underwhelming. The Bullshark release was amazing so they clearly understand how to make a great Inner Sphere assault mech... What the hell happened here?

    It’s amazing that thousands of years in the future, with interstellar travel and other technological marvels, they still have not invented cameras or other scopes that can be located at convenient places on the mech, like where the weapons are. Instead, we get a cockpit window only. Hell, even 20th century battle tanks can do better than that.

    The way I see it, it's like a Stone Rhino becoming a knockoff Fafnir. Has almost similar hardpoint layout, but somehow more awkward hardpoint placement with almost very little to compensate for it (such as ECM).

    The high mounts screwing this thing over reminds me of an occasional problem with the marauder 2 and the king crab where I think im in cover but because thier shoulders are so god dang broad and the cockpit is beneath a good portion of the mech I get shot at when I cant see them causing me to run away to further cover. But with this thing the problem is far more pronounced. like you said with the annihilator (or with other humanoid mechs) you know when you are

    I've seen Cyclops with the 2xUAC10, 2xUAC5 build. Seems like for a 100 tonner you could put some more juice on it. Or maybe go 4xUAC5, with light PPC's in the arms. Quad light gauss maybe?

  • @NeoRocket001

    So hopefully in a future patch they could buff both side torsos? Maybe 10 more for a quirk plus of +30 instead of the +20?

    When I want to run a classic UAC5 UAC10 combo I go with my Madcat IIC. For whatever reason I rarely lose an arm which is odd considering the cannons are all arm mounted. I would expect people to be gunning for them all the time. The slow torso would drive me nuts on the Behemoth. But then again I am not such a great player lol.

    Is there any news on pilot progression in mw5 clans I can't wait for this game in so pumped. Most of my friends don't like mechwarrior games but they are my favourite I grew up with them and love setting up mechs for different missions but hope for a little deeper pilot progression. Piranha doesn't release much info but I look every day

    Meh, I think I'll keep playing the Clan Stone Rhino then. Same problems, but at least it has more firepower (clan space magic) and some quirks. Also, I wonder why the high mounts are such a problem here, but the Marauder II has the same problem and is often considered "bEsT 100t iN Da gaEM!!!"

  • @sentinelmoonfang
    @sentinelmoonfang 5 месяцев назад

    The side-peeking is the way. I do a lot of stuff in the Aksum and have been in the top 50-ish on the leaderboard the last few seasons. Even the Clan version can't peek vertically. Vertical peeking is already rough if you're doing it at a dead-on angle since no horizontal movement means people can much more precisely cluster their damage on a single component (similar to running straight at people in a light), but it's even nastier with the Stone Rhino since they can shoot before you do. You can have some more luck exposing at an angle, like using ramps parallel to the canyon on Canyon Network, for instance, but it's going to be rough regardless. With Inner Sphere skills you have more armor than the Clan version, but more armor is not a substitute for just not getting shot because you can get out of harm's way faster. It's like Mr. Miyagi said. Best defense is no be there. It's also no substitute for killing way faster. Normally I think the IS vs. Clan balance disparity is overblown, but not in this case. The Behemoth seems just bad.
    The issue with the rock was naturally that if your reticle is on the thing, stuff will converge to hit a target at that distance instead of shooting over the rock like they should. It's often why you get convergence fuckery at long range, since you're leading a target and the weapons will try to converge where your crosshair is intersecting the ground at like 1300 meters, even though your target is at 1000 meters. The result is your shots are spaced out super far. It's weird that in the 31st century they haven't figured out to set convergence for the target you're locked onto.
    Honestly, I was kind of looking forward to this mech to try a chassis I've liked since I was a kid with some new loadouts, but I agree. It's fully not worth it.

    I cant imagine going less than 60kph in this game and having fun at the same time. I have 1 Stone Rhino with 4AC10, 2Plasma, 1JJ, velocity quirk. and goes just under 60kph. Whats the point of the Behemoth apart from some random IS builds with less weapons and heatsinks than the Clans versions.

  • @fcvanilla7293
    @fcvanilla7293 5 месяцев назад

    Why are you shooting your torso weapons with arms unlocked?

    • @NinjaContravaniaManX
      @NinjaContravaniaManX 5 месяцев назад

      Maybe because it's super annoying rotating the torso of a sluggish assault mech with arms locked, especially when playing low sens? Yes, it doesn't rotate any faster with arms unlocked, but at least I can wait for the torso to catch up to my arm movement and don't have to swipe my mouse across the desk all the time like a madman due to the rotation cap. PGI just hasn't figured out mouse sensivity in games yet, maybe give them another decade or so. And who knows, maybe in 30 years, they'll realize that advanced zoom sens is way too high as well...

    • @Hedron-Design
      @Hedron-Design 5 месяцев назад +1

      Many players do torso only weapons with arms unlocked. you can basically "Pre-Aim" with the arm reticle and then as soon as the torso snaps to that spot you fire. It does take some brain practice to coordinate the reticles but it is worth it. It also "feels" good for fast twisting after firing. And in some cases helps with leading a steady moving target. Some even use the arm reticle for leading a mech, part of that pre aiming I was referring to. I am limited at that usage.

    • @NinjaContravaniaManX
      @NinjaContravaniaManX 5 месяцев назад

      @@Hedron-Design Exactly. It takes a while to get used to it, but after 700h in MWO and 2000 in MW5, you got it down. Masterclass I guess would be shooting 2 targets at once or, for example, leading your arm-mounted RAC5s with the arm reticle while your torso reticle is placed directly on the enemy mech and lets you do direct damage with torso-mounted lasers.

    • @foamyesque
      @foamyesque 4 месяца назад

      Anything with jumpjets. In principle the Behemoth should allow Sphere big ballistic builds to become jump capable (dual HGR, dual LBX20s) in a way they weren't before; the only other Sphere machine with a ballistic slot in each ST and jumpjets is the Victor 9A1, which is 20t lighter. I don't think it's *enough* to make the mech strong, but you can make a flying Warlord. The problem is -- well, if you're spending money anyway, why are you getting the *Sphere* legendary SR when you could get the *Clan* one, as the Aksum is one of the strongest assaults in the game?

    • @darrenskjoelsvold
      @darrenskjoelsvold 4 месяца назад

      @foamyesque OK I will grant you the JJs but other than jump jets I can do pretty much anything with a Mauler and do so without spending money or MC.

    I'm sorry, but UACs are just too inconsistent for me to use. I have had them jam on the first shot, and been left with no viable weapons for up to 15 seconds. Not just once. But several times in a row. In a mech that was quirked and skilled for them. I know they have to have a jam chance for balancing purposes. Bit it is far too capricious for me to ever consider using them at this point.

    Bad mech design again, from an MWO point of view. Cockpit should be further back up the ct, the weapons pod should be split in 2 and lower to the shoulder if not in the shoulder.
    Also the structure and quirks are lacking. What reason is there to run this over any other assault that can run the same weaponry?
