  • Highlights of Khunde Community Cultural Restoration Project:-
✨In the winter of 2015, on our way to our hometown Khunde, we met with a group of Khunde youth who were cleaning the debris of the Khunde Manilhang, which was heavily damaged by the earthquake that shook the country earlier that year. The then newly built monastery located up the hill, was also damaged along with the Chorten (stupa) that stood at the end of the village. After returning to Kathmandu, we formed a reconstruction committee and began to raise funds. Soon, with the support from different organizations and individuals, within and out of Nepal, we were successful in collecting enough funds and hence, began the reconstruction of these monuments. Now, Khunde Gumba (Monastery) is fully functional and monks perform rituals on a daily basis. The new Manilhang (big prayer wheel) has a community hall with a kitchen and toilet located adjacent to it. The Chorten (stupa) stood up even better than before without having to change its original design, size, etc. The mani-walls have been rearranged and boundaries for garden have been set up along with the installation of new prayer wheels. The Kani (welcome gate) has also been renovated. The Chorten garden project is still in its construction phase and we hope to have it completed soon. I recently made a visit to Khunde and I’m more than happy to share this video with all our donors, well-wishers and friends. We, the community of Khunde, are extremely thankful for your generous support and to everyone who contributed; this would not have been possible without your support.
    Thank You All!!
