Doesnt that effect the cooling of the engine becuse those blades act like a fan to cool the engine

Definitely does affect the cooling not the route I would have went I would have just drilled the holes in between the fins

It will need to be re-balanced. Imagine if its off just a few grams. Multiply that times the 15,000+ rpm's you might be turning.

если ты уменьшил высоту лепестков, то остался паразитный зазор между корпусом и маховиком. маленькие лопасти и так почти не дуют, так еще и в том зазоре весь напор воздуха потеряется. ты делал вставку-компенсатор?

Use your voice. explain what you are doing and why for the people who don't know.
I don't know why I never thought of doing it this way... I have a drawer full of bits like that, and a drill press. did you see any RPM gain?

Yes, I've ran quite a few lightened flywheels. Typically you'll see better acceleration and peak rpm.
