Is it just me or does Yes have one of the most dialed board lines out there? Many good boards, a few funky, few bad, and not much overlap.
Pumped to try this puppy out. I mainly ride park but more all around freestyle lately and butter flex is key for me with just the right pop. Hooked up some union bindings on it and pumped to start rippin. 360 nose butter down a rail is this years trick goal.
This board and the Gnu Finest really stands out. Thinking of to get one of them to replace my Ride Helix. I am old and that board is to much to handle.
Bought one, can't wait to try it this season
Post back when you do. 😏
I have the 2011/12 version, so I I was quite shocked to hear that it's gone full camber now, sending on what you hear.
Update?
Your review of the Jackpot single handedly convinced me to get one. I was just wonder what size you would recommend for someone who was 5'11 and about 190 lbs
54 or 56 dealers choice on that.
I would say depending on how technical your style is can basically have it go down to a 52 but agree a 54 is better all around. The 56 is a little long for park IMO.
Hey Angry
Love your content and reviews. Any plan to review the 2021 Jackpot?
Eventually.
Would be great!! Crazy excited how its goin full camber, yessssS!
So glad you did a review on this one.. I got the Basic because you last review of it and i felt like it described exactly what i was looking for... and this one is going to be my next pick.. How do you think it will hold up in the pow wow?
Eh there's better boards for pow, it'll work, but don't expect it to be mind blowing.
I predominately ride park in domes for most of the year but get out to a resort for about 1-2 weeks a year. I’m for sure still gonna be getting some runs through the park while i’m there but also want something thats gonna do well on the rest of the mountain so Im unsure of of whether or not to go for this or the capita mercury, whats your opinions?
Get this as it'll be more suited to the majority of your riding but will handle the resort when you get there.
Hey Mr Angry,
First of all a big thanks for the great content, love your reviews.
I’m about to buy my first board after years of rental. I’m intermediate and would like to improve my switch riding, buttering and carving skills.
I think the jackpot is a good board for this, but I’m also really interested in the the Gnu Finest.
Which one would you recommend?
Is there a big difference in flex between these 2?
I would very much appreciate your opinion on this :)
The biggest differences are the camber profiles and the Finest has an asym sidecut to it. It's going to be more playful due to the camber profile than the Jackpot, but the Jackpot in my opinion is a better park board.
Angry Snowboarder
Thanks for your advice!
Could you please specify what you mean by ‘better park board’?
Is the jackpot a better board in general?
Or is the jackpot better suited for park specific features? (For jibbing and jumps)
Hey Avran, is there much overlap between this and the Standard?
Shapewise yes, otherwise no.
I'm trying to decide between last years 2019 Jackpot (156) and a 2019 Rome Buckshot (155).
6'1" 160lbs. 10.5 boot. Mostly riding in Michigan with occasional trips out west. Some time in park but mostly popping off whatever I can all over the hill. Thoughts between these two? Also could get a deal on a Capita Outer Space Living at the local shop. Thanks!
All three of those choices are solid. If you can score a deal on the Outer Space Living I'd do that.
Can a size 12 boot fit a 156 for this deck, or will there be way to much toe heel drag. Respectz. Your killing it out here with these reviews
That's going to be a no go.
Narrowed it down to this and the jibsaw, for 60/40 park and groomers. Mainly used when keystone hardens up for the latter. Thoughts between the two, which is the better board? Oh and for the one you pick, what size for an 8 boot, 195lbs? Thanks!
Jackpot will be stiffer in the tips which will benefit you when that frontside goes to shit and freezes over. I'd get a 54.
Could you pls review this years one I really really wanna buy one and I prolly am but yeah just wanted to know if there are differences btwn 2021 model and this one. Thanks 🙏
It's full camber, that's the difference. A simple search would have gotten you this answer.
Hi there Avran.. love your channel and your reviews man. Has to be a lot of work to edit all those vids.. Thank you so much! Can you please give me some advice? Looking for a kinda "beginner board" to learn buttering.. I've snowboarded 50 days in total.. So my question what board to buy to learn butters? My specs: Weight: 160 lbs , Height 5 feet, 10 inches, Shoesize 7,5.. thanks in advance.
If you want to accelerate your learning curve check out the Arbor Draft, K2 WWW, Rome Blackjack or Gangplank, Bataleon Wallie, Rossignol Sawblade, or Salomon Sleepwalker.
@@AngrySnowboarder thanks man :-)
Hey Angry!
I've been looking at the yes jackpot 154 or the capita outsiders 154 for my new park board this season, i like medium sized kickers, sidehits and popping of rollers i also do a fair bit of jibbing and buttering + i really like to lay down carves, eurocarves and going fast.
I'm 180lbs and 6ft 9.5 boot, wich board do think would suit me best? I'm open for other suggestions aswell.
Thanks for putting great content!
Honestly either will work for what you want. I wouldn't say either is better than the other. I'd go with which one you can get a better deal on or which one you like the graphic more.
Angry Snowboarder Alright thanks! My local shop doesn’t stock yes so capita it is then I guess
Looking to pick this board up. I’m 6’1’’ and 145 pounds with size 10 boot. Would the 154 work best? @angry snowboarder
I don't think the next size down will fit your boots
So I have the Rome Blackjack and it's awesome, and I spend almost all my time in the park jibbing and on the smaller jumps. Looking for something camber to play with when in the mood, which is not too hard core. Something more stable with good pop that's still relatively easy. Is this it?
You might actually like the DC Ply more.
@@AngrySnowboarder thanks, and the Westmark Camber? It just looks so good.
@@quoostonator It'll probably be too stiff for what you want right away and take about 20 or so days to soften up to where you need it.
Hey angry, this won’t have backfoot washing out like the yes greats because of the asym MidBite? Because I hated the greats because of that. Sounds like it’s pretty solid for all mountain freestyle
I never encountered it.
I rode my 2019 Jackpot 158 for the first time yesterday, tail noodled on me many times trying to drive a hard backside turn. Tried it at the recommended stance inserts which is narrower than I usually ride, hopefully if I go wider it will resolve some of the softness, but yea this is a lot more park board than I anticipated. My NS Funslinger will dig a trench compared to the Jackpot, wasn't expecting to go backwards from that board.
Looking for a go to all mountain board that will survive powder, carve and butter. Which of the 3 do you recommend: Arbor Element, Yes Jackpot or Rome Mod Rocker. Thanks Angry
Element will be the most well rounded.
@@AngrySnowboarder Thanks. 5'10, 175lbs, 9.5 boot - Which size do you recommend? Would 157 work
Could even go smaller than that.
Jackpot vs Twinpig for park and messing around on the mountain?
Jackpot hands down.
What up Angry! Looking for a freestyle dominant board that can handle the rest of the mountain as well as jumps. Was going to buy the Huck Knife until I found the Jackpot, which seems like the best of both worlds. What is your professional opinion between these two? Is the Jackpot the better bet?
Jackpot is the best!
Angry Snowboarder awesome. Thought so 😎 just bought the board. Cheers m8
Looking at getting a used 2018 jackpot for 200. Have you checked that one out? If so, would this review apply to that model?
Search is hard. www.angrysnowboarder.com/tag/yes-jackpot-snowboard-review/
@@AngrySnowboarder thank you kind sir
What size did you ride ? I'm 43 5.9 183 lbs, 30% park 70 % all mountain. I have an Optimistic 151, 159 Basic decade, 156 Jones Hovercraft. I live in BC Canada and ride on average of 32 time a year. I love chargering hard in the morning then have relaxed laps in the afternoon with the GF. Looking for a softer ride for my knees! Jackpot or Westbrook ? and what size ?
54. No clue what the Westbrook is.
Angry Snowboarder Sorry I meant to write Westmark
these reviews, very much like the STDs passed around from Silverthorne snow carnies, never seem to go away broheem....
have you ridden the yes dicey? if so how does it compare
The Dicey is essentially this board. The made the Jackpot full camber and beefed it up and then made this into the Dicey.
@@AngrySnowboarder thats what I was thinking haha, dicey it is thanks brotha
Looking at this in a 158. Is it too wide for my size 8 feet?
No.
@@AngrySnowboarder looks like they changed the camber profile this year. No more rocker on the contacts? Did you get a chance to ride this seasons? Thoughts?
Looks like Yes does things right.
Quick question: when you say high speed, is 40+ mph what we're talking about?
88mph with the flux capacitator fluxing and 2.21 JIGGAwatts surging.
@@AngrySnowboarder damn. I'll never get to go fast
Top 5 boards for butters and presses 2019-2020?
Is the 2020 model any different from last years?
I believe that was the first year of the tweak to it and that this years is the carry over.
@@AngrySnowboarder sorry but do you mean its better or worse? google translate doesnt work so good in slang, add affiliate links for Europe too angry guy :)
Angry Snowboarder thanks just curious I found last years model cheap so I snagged one
@@sardanapalos Hi Mike, tweak generally means a small change - an adjustment or fine-tuning for improvement.
The main thing is that Avran is saying it's a great board.
@@tsubakisan1147 thanks a lot bro, really appreciate it \m/, i just found the 2019 model in a good price and i was wondering if it worth it :)
Heyyy, Yes Jackpot or Capita Asym for a freestyle to all-mtn freestyle intermediate rider?
Both.
Better than a spring break twin?
That board doesn't exist anymore in 2020.
@@AngrySnowboarder awh yeah, that means worser
Hello Avran. I am interested in buying a snowboard that will allow me to learn switch, butters and small to medium jumps. I currently have the Yes Greats 2019 and don't really like the asymmetric shape. I was thinking about the Yes Jackpot or the Arbor Westmark Camber. Do you think one of these boards is better than the Yes Greats for what I'm trying to learn and get better at? Or would you recommend something else?
Jackpot.
Thanks!!
I got a Yes Jackpot 152 and one of the bolt inserts was faulty and its out of stock now. The store is offering a swap for Yes Standard 153 or wait on warranty claim from yes. Should I take the Standard or wait to see if I can get another Jackpot? Didn't even get to ride it yet :(
Those are two very different boards.
@@AngrySnowboarder Thanks for your reply, I don't know of anyone else who has ridden both boards. On paper they don't seem too different, but I was wary that product descriptions/spec sheets were a bit generic. I'm after something super playful in the resort and park for buttering, side hits, just making the most of the time I have on the slopes, so I'm leaning towards keeping the Jackpot if possible.
So I noticed today the 2021 Jackpot is going to have a 'Camber C4 'profile. Really interesting. Would that be like the Quad Camber Huck Knife profile set up or am I fucking up and it's really the same as the CamRock 2-4-2 on this 2020 just said in a different way? 2021 Yes catalog: issuu.com/actionsportagency/docs/yes_catalog_w021
It's just full camber.
the 158 goes DOWN to a 246 waist? help me thigh master.
Pretty sure that's a typo.
@@AngrySnowboarder AND NOW IM ANGRY
