No but can we talk about how Charithra NAILS the confrontation scene? The way she SNAPS is AMAZING. Hearing her say that it felt real to her acting that scene is just... Girl, I felt that too 💯
Oh, absolutely. It was made all the better by the fact that Charithra did such a good job embodying a sweet, innocent Edwina in prior episodes. To see Edwina's anger come through was sooo cathartic because the whole proposal/marriage angle was giving me major anxiety.
I also find it interesting how Kate mother bracelet fell on edwina’s veil.. almost like Kate mother was intervening in a way. Saying that they should’ve been getting married. Beautiful performances all around
It was so interesting having an insight into how those scenes were thought/written and the choices that were made during filming. I wish we had Simone and Charithra's commentary on the whole episode.
Charithra is an absolute delight. Her portrayal of Edwina was exquisite and I very much enjoyed The Choice. Excellent showcase of talents for both her and Simone. I miss DVD commentaries, what I would give for a Directors commentary track and a cast commentary track
Simone Ashley is one of the most beautiful women i've ever seen in my life, she's dead gorgeous. Her brown eyes, skin and hair are just flawless. Also, her personality is truly amazing, she talks so elegantly and always compliments her co-stars, even when they're not sitting next to her.
Of course Edwina had every reason to be angry, but i really felt bad for Kate in this scene. It was Edwina and Anthony who pursued this marriage when kate's been reluctant all this time and yet it's her who takes all the blame. She doesn't even point that out to defend herself because she loves her sister. And her mother just cast her away like that. Then Anthony finds Kate just to ask her to convince Edwina to marry him and breaks her heart. AGAIN. She was indeed all alone.
Yah.. our poor poor Kate. This is why Kate felt so close to home. We have all been there- being blamed for everything, and being abandoned by everyone. At least Edwina was there for her at the end. Even though she was in anger, she made sure her sister wasn't left alone.
I mean, Kate's not entirely taking the blame here. After Edwina initially leaves, Anthony tries to convince her to go through with the marriage by essentially saying that they would make a good team to fulfill their roles, and when Edwina comes back later to inform Anthony and Kate of her decision, she refuses on the grounds that she deserves more than just filling a role. So, Anthony definitely gets some of the blame, but it's more overt towards Kate because (as Charithra says) Edwina loves Kate, so she feels more betrayed by her. If I was Mary, I would also ask Kate to leave so that I could handle Edwina in that moment. Plus, let's not forget that Kate DOES push to get the marriage through. Anthony says he will call off the marriage in E5 during the "bane of my existence" scene, and then again at the end of E5 in the forest. Kate pleads with him not to do so, and that is when Anthony commits to making the marriage happen.
@@aray337 she pushed it only because Edwina told her that she loves him and of the situation which also breaks my heart for her. There was no other option at the time. Otherwise Edwina would've been left with dishonor, scandals and no dowries. So she begged the man she loves to go through this marriage, holding back her tears. No self interest involved, only sacrifice. About the blame part, i meant it between Edwina and Kate. Edwina lashed out Kate wants him all by herself and fools her to believe she only desires her to be happy, which is totally not true. I was like YOU SHOUL'VE LISTENED TO HER IN THE FIRST PLACE SHE TOLD YOU THOUSANDS TIME HE'S NOT FOR YOU. But I also understand that she was so mad because she deeply loves her sister. Honestly, although I adore Anthony, he should've received more than that. He suffered after, so there's that. The show sealed all conflicts quite well, but between ep 5 and 6, Kate was so alone
@@aray337oh and I don't doubt Mary loves Kate dearly, but when a problem comes to the surface, her first reaction is to leave Kate alone with a harsh look and go after Edwina. I don't blame her for that, but it hurts nonetheless.
Simone and Charithra are literally soo so talented!! And I also loved the little details in this episode like the part where edwina’s dress and her moms too are in slow motion when she runs away!
I remember not really caring for edwinas character until this point, she was kinda like Isabela in encanto at first, just a pretty sister. But that scene omg I was blown away
they did an amazing job at playing kate and edwina. as an audience watching edwina just blow up like that definitely made me feel uncomfortable and uneasy so you can just imagine how kate felt having received the biting end of it 😭 amazing scene, definitely did a good job at keeping us all engaged. my heart was pounding by the end of it! much love to simone and charithra ❤️
Simone Ashley has a slight Indian accent in the series which fooled me to think she was someone born in India who had difficulties sounding British. But now I see that was part of her role and one that was spot on, might I say.

Well Daphne said to Anthony something like if you love the person it's like all word dissapears when you two are near or together everything else doesn't matter. What's why when he was focusing on Kate he was seeing empty church. At that moment he realised he really loves her.
I LOVE how much Charithra understands her character and emphasizes her love for Her sister. It definitely helped ease some of the discomfort I had with this sequence. By the end of the day, the problem here is that S2 did not *show* just how much Edwina cared for Kate. She had every right to feel betrayed, but it still looked WAY too much considering all that Kate did and cared about her. If only we had seen Edwina equally concerned for her sister before, this sequence would have passed a lot better. Overall a great season and SO happy to get to know these two talented actresses!

I have absolutely fallen in love with these two actresses. They are beautiful and I hope to see more of them. I truly enjoyed season 2 of Bridgerton!!!!!
That was a very awkward wedding with the groom in his own headspace imagining the sister as his bride.....I just love how Edwina stood up for herself and what she truly wanted when she found out....or it would have been so messed up after the wedding with Anthony still harbouring feelings for Kate. Edwina is amazing in that scene of self-discovery.
In the bracelet scene I closed my eyes for a bit. Knew something crazy will happen but I didn't want Edwina to get hurt like this, still it was necessary.
Both of them are do gorgeous. Their eyes 👀. Indians have beautiful eyes. I think main thing for actors are their eyes and these two have expressive eyes
Charithra nailed this scene! The fact that kate and anthony would have let her get married even though they obviously had feelings for each other would have been devastating for any sister. First theres the How dare u betray me phase? Next, how dare u keep secrets between us? Why dint you tell me!? I dint expect this from you! All these expressions are clearly visible on her face and i love that!
Its amazing because I agree with Simone, I saw what she's talking about. The proud sister look, the fact that she's speechless to see her sister speak for herself for once. I am seen as Edwina by my sister and we talked about that, in our life she did have the same feeling when I stood up for myself when before I would keep it all inside. It really made me feel connected to her even though I am more like Kate inside, I was seen like Edwina to my family. It is so interesting that she mentions it and it was intentional.

Simone Asley is a gorgeous Woman and amazing Actress but the all the cast is beautiful and compliment each other. The acting and the scene was Amazingly well done . You felt every emotion. Kate had good intention for Edwina but her strong desire to make it work so badly for her sister make Kate forgot about her own feelings and holding those feelings almost took her life away felt bad for Kate the older sister as well for Edwina to seeing that sister bond breaking. Anthony Brigerton really coming into his own at the end.
I read the book after watching series 2 (several times). Spoilers ahead for the book. My thoughts when watching the show was how could Edwina not know that Kate was into Anthony; she knew that Anthony didn't really love her; and why didn't she care about Kate's love story. I have 2 sisters, so I personally think Edwina had always been the young sister who was protected from everything and only really thought about herself, and Kate took too much on and scarificed so much for her family (including being willing to deny her own love for the sake of her sister's happiness). Yes, Kate should have been honest with Edwina from the first moment she felt the spark with Anthony; but it is Anthony who foolishly proposed to Edwina after his own (happily married) sister pointed out that he was in love with Kate and after they had a very hot i hate you but secretly love you moment in the office. My heart broke for Kate when she had to see that. She got put through a lot by Anthony and her family so I was team Kate all the way and my heart broke for her in this episode. If you read the book, Anthony does not (foolishly) propose to the sister of the woman he loves, and Edwina figures out there is something between them when they stay with the Bridgertons at Aubrey Hall. So I prefer that sister story compared to the show twist ...i just think Edwina was too naive. It was nice to see her finally grow up in this scene and start opening her eyes to what was happebing around her. ...i mean the tensions between Anthony and Kate after their first dance (forced by Edwina) and he gets upset after she says she's going to India. Lady Danbury, Daphne etc could see what was happening. Why couldn't she?!One of my fave lines from her in the show is: "was I truly that blind?"I shouted yes in response cause she was. Even if she didn't recognize Kate's feelings (and she should have as her sister), it was clear that Anthony wasn't in love with her and that they weren't very compatible. I loved Daphne in this season and how she saw their bond immediately- what a good (perceptive) sister!
I agree the show should have followed the book more with edwina because I just found her character annoying and blind as a bat 🦇 they should have brought sienna back for a love triangle The sister story was wack
You can tell how much Charithra loves and sympathizes with her character Edwina. She is also pretty smart and so eloquent, she can defend her character and her character’s choices and reaction so well I really love that
Charithra is so beautiful my word! Such a beautiful spirit inside and out! “God he’s so handsome isn’t he” she’s just so real and sweet😅 Such a great actress and the confrontational part was too real
i honestly wish the show producer didn't ruin kate and edwina relationship like adding this unnecessary wedding and edwina calling kate half sister.. i can still accept some changes but not kate and edwina sweet relay in the book. I read the book so many times so i kinda lil disappointed with the changes. Plus they really erased kate trauma like wth? if simone and jonny still there for next season i hope we get to see kate's trauma and some part from the book. Also wanna add how stunning simone is as kate sharma
0:51-1:08 i like how Charithra sums up Edwina's perspective in the series. A lot of people (including me i admit) viewed Edwina as naive little sister when in fact she just trusted Kate so much that the thought of her beloved sister being in love with her fiancé never crossed her mind.
Simone is so sweet. Always compliments her co-stars and praises them. You can really see through her that she’s very kind. So gorgeous. A very beautiful human being inside and out. Can’t get enough of her.

Edwina is a reallife princess Jasmine like she’s absolutely gorgeous 😍✨
PLEASE KANTHONY (SIMONE AND JOHHNY) REACTING TO THEIR ROMANTIC SCENES ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
omgg yess
YESSS
You can tell how much Charithra loves and sympathizes with her character Edwina. She is also pretty smart and so eloquent, she can defend her character and her character’s choices and reaction so well I really love that
Great casting. These two beautiful ladies really look like sisters. ❤
I LOVE SIMONE ASHLEY!!!!! 😍😍😍
Same here 💕💕
Charithra is so beautiful my word! Such a beautiful spirit inside and out! “God he’s so handsome isn’t he” she’s just so real and sweet😅 Such a great actress and the confrontational part was too real
The stunning sisters 🥺😭💎💕
I absolutely loved this season! These actors steal your heart ❤️ Forever a fan
These two are stunning 😍 ✨
Simone is so lovely
They are both so sweet
i honestly wish the show producer didn't ruin kate and edwina relationship like adding this unnecessary wedding and edwina calling kate half sister.. i can still accept some changes but not kate and edwina sweet relay in the book.
My will-power to resist watching Bridgerton over again has now promptly turned to dust. I will be pressing play shortly😆
Same! I watched the entire season twice and now I go back and rewatch my favorite scenes from each episode. 🤦🏿♀️
Literal queens
KANTHONY FOREVER❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
