As a brown girl, I just couldn’t stop myself from sobbing multiple times throughout season 2. I’m such a hopeless romantic, and love a romcom, but it had never truly occurred to me that I’d never seen a woman who looked like me being the main protagonist. Skin as dark as mine too. God, representation is so important. I’m so thankful for this storyline, Simone and Shonda for allowing this beautiful story to be told and for making us all feel worthy of being a viscountess ❤️

it's so true, and kinda sad... Like a lot of people who study eng lit around the world are introduced to these amazing authors (Austen, Bronte sisters, dickens...) and their stories, and it's absolutely wonderful to see yourself (in a way) portrayed in these sort of tv shows/movies!

Oh my god even in this interview I can see Edwina and Kate in these actresses. So well cast. The actress playing Edwina is actually so sweet, talkative, charming and adorable and looks so much younger just the way she is described in the books, and Simone who plays Kate is naturally fiery, strong headed but mature and has this gravity about her just like Kate. Can't wait for season 2.

Not ashamed to say I binge-watched Season 2 in one sitting, went to bed, and the moment I woke up I started watching it over again. The script-writing, the conviction with which Bailey expressed his words, and the whole regency aesthetic is unbelievably captivating.
I've just finished it for the 2nd time now, and i think may start watching it again for the 3rd time. Kate and Anthony, honestly are just too much, it's sooo good. 💗😍💗😍💗😍 I cannot heap enough praise on Jonathan's performance 🙌 🙌 🙌 🙌

They are all so lovely! The chemistry between Jonathan/Simone is *chef's kiss*, and I'm so glad they're staying true to the books with Kate/Edwina's relationship. Their beautiful sisterhood (along with Kate's relationship with Mary) was one of the highlights of an already wonderful book!

Just finished watching S1 & S2 for the 2nd time and I must say Jonathan Bailey & Simone Ashley’s chemistry was off the charts!! The casting is so perfect for the two sisters. Even for viewers who know nothing about the characters they can immediately tell Edwina is the naive, pretty, innocent girl and Kate is a mature, confident, woman. Big big props to the casting director

The second season is SO MUCH BETTER than the first season!!! I wasn’t going to watch season 2 anymore because I really didn’t like season 1, but I’m so glad I gave it another chance!! Now it’s one of my favorite shows! Congratulations to all of them!! I hope season 3 is even better!
I'm so incredibly proud to see Tamil girl representation in international TV, in recent times, Simone Ashley, Charithra Chandran and Maitreyi Ramakrishnan. Growing up, I very rarely saw movie and TV women leads of my complexion (pan-India). For a good 10 years during my teens and early twenties, I wore only black and navy blue clothes because 'light colours don't suit my skin tone'. To see these women as leads, see their beauty showcased along with powerful storylines, makes me feel more beautiful and strong! Representation matters!
this is so ridiculous because if anything light, bright colors look even more gorgeous on dark skin, which the bridgerton stylists knew by putting the sharma sisters in such bright tones like pink, orange, purple and red!!
@@solihassen3294 You're absolutely right. Only it took me a good 20 years to realise with being conditioned to think that way all my life. From babies to brides, everyone wants only the 'fair' kind in South Asia. So took a lot to break away from that toxic cycle for myself and for my daughter!

Casting was amazing and so was the chemistry between Kate and Anthony. Eloise remain the favorite character for in both the seasons.

Oh man...season 2 is excellent!!!!! The chemistry of all the characters is off the charts! I love lady bridgerton and lady Bradbury's friendship!!! And true to a Shondaland media form....I dehydrated from crying more tears than my body can produce!..
