    That 2nd exercise i call the Superman. If everyone does that, there would be NO back pain. Do 5-7 reps and hold each for 60 seconds then stretch cuz it will tighten up After a month your lower and center back will be so much stronger

    The seated wall squat, with the shoulder press, and forearms flat against the wall, is an excellent stretch. And should hither to be known as the "The Zoidberg"

    This is great advice! I just wanted to share . . . I broke my shoulder in 2020. After the operation my PT had me doing lots of exercises pulling the shoulders blades back. I had been doing variants of the first exercise. My posture is MUCH better now. I tried the first exercise that she showed Tyler and it was kind of tough, but it would have been harder had I not broken my shoulder and been working with a PT . . this is great stuff.

    5.44 min in. Listening at my workbench when I heard her describing the exercise against the wall. Trudy Wheeler taught us similar exercises in the theatre to get us relaxed before going on stage, build muscle, and have correct posture. Don't know who this pretty blond is but great job ! Will save video and watch later.

    I'm a mature age and I've been on a xr400 for a few months. My mid back was killing me after a few rides. I'm wondering if it's just sore from not using those muscles as much. Will try these warm ups, along with push-ups, pull-ups, and mid section. I would also suggest leg squats before a ride as well as the night before you ride. Your knees will thank you and you'll feel much stronger.

    Hi guys great how to videos. Wondering if you could do a video for us tall guys haha (6ft 5") I can't seem to get comfortable on the bike. Feels like I'm riding on top of it the bike doesn't feel planted. I gave up dirt for street riding 10 years ago. Getting back into dirt I want to do a track day soon. I've definitely been feeling arm pump and hand fatigue (dead grip?). I occasionally will get 3 numb fingers on my throttle hand. Any extra help would be greatly appreciated.

    now being 50 stretching and mussel building like a dancer has been more important for me. like my physical therapist said you can bench press all day and its not going to help you that much. im hopeing to get 5 more good years

      Doubt you're too old, maybe too out of shape but just riding will help you get in better shape alone. I used to ride with a fast guy in his mid 70's!

      @@mxfreaks ..Thanks bro ! I'm in very good shape , don't look old and I lift weights but I can't disregard the fact that I'm 65 .
      While your young you never think of being old but I can tell you that one day you are young and the next, you have arrived at 65, it's unbelievable !
      I think what I have come up with is .... Pay my F250 off , buy me a bad ass John Deere 4052R tractor and just be happy with my Harley Road King.
      One thing I have found about dirt bikes is ... They have removed kicker, carbs and given cheap batteries, TPI that isn't adjustable or working like it should and raised the prices on the bikes to a point that I can just pass them up.

      @@goodboyringo9716 Yeah I'm 40 and started riding regularly again at 35 even though I've never gone more than 5 years in my entire life without owning a dirtbike. My Dad bought his last dirtbike at your exact age and rode it for a couple years before he had a heart attack and has to give it up for the time being possibly forever but the memories we made in those few years are irreplaceable so he tells me all the time how glad he was to make that decision and I agree. Don't worry about all the youtube Drama with the batteries, Fuel injection and lack of kickers. I just picked up a used low hour 2017 Husqvarna FC250 for 4K with all the things you mentioned supposedly wrong and it is a pure dream. I have put over 50 hrs on it just in the last 4 months and it is still perfect without one problem. Way more reliable than any older bike I have owned. So my vote is for you to sell the Harley and get a new KTM with Plates so you can take it on the road or trails! I hate having regrets in life so I say if you are in shape like you say and have the passion and desire then go for it!

      Found my real father at the funeral home for the first and last meeting, just a little too late for a hello.
      I just put a beautiful House Of Kolor paint job on my bike and new cams so it's hard to sell . Another reason not to sell is no one will answer the for sale ad, GGG
      I have looked for dirt bikes in Michigan and they are hard to find the right one. Thanks and happy life to you!

    As a Doctor of Physical Therapy with 17 years of experience, and an avid motocross rider, it
    disturbs me that you would ask a Pilates instructor for advice on exercises for motocross
    riders, and listen to her advice on motocross technique. Showing a picture of Roger DeCoster
    with the caption "Incorrect", is very misleading. We can get into a discussion on how
    mx technique has changed over the years, but that is another topic.
    Concerning the first exercise:
    When she had your back against the wall and had you raise your arms, you were actually only
    testing the flexibility of your shoulders. The ribs are going to be where they are going to
    be. They have no where else to go, since they are attached to your spine, which is against the
    wall. You felt the back of your shoulders because you lack external rotation, a sign of
    posterior capsule tightness. What she had you do is more of a stretch, than a strengthening
    exercise. It's also hard to get in that position, for most people because of tight pectoralis
    muscles. Sometimes people will feel their arms/hands get tingly due to pec minor tightness in
    this position. It's actually called a Roos test. Putting your back against the wall is a nice
    way to remind someone of what their posture is supposed to be, but in no way is a test of
    strength. Step two, in that exercise was a chin tuck. It's a good exercise for stretching the
    sub-occipital muscles in the upper neck.
    Exercise 2:
    Prone lumbar extension also called a cobra. Excellent lumbar muscle strengthener. Arm position
    is secondary.
    Exercise 3:
    Basic quadruped exercise, good for upper back strengthening. Not the best sport specific
    exercise for motocross riders.
    Ok, now let's talk about your comments at the end, Tyler. "The ability to get into proper
    standing and riding position is everything in your upper body". False. Getting into proper
    standing/riding position is as much about your legs as it is your upper body. After all, we
    are talking about standing. Then you say: "Most people hunch here, and it rounds their lower
    back and it turns all the good muscles off". Again false. Muscles don't "shut off" just
    because you are in a certain position. Your second point is true. Having strong neck muscles
    is important for motocross. Too bad your Pilates instructor didn't show you any exercises for
    that.
    Your third point, that you're getting neck pain after 20 minutes of riding suggests you need
    medical attention, especially if you feel an increase in weakness above and beyond normal
    fatigue.
    Something tells me being an attractive blonde female helped get her on your video. I really
    hope you choose professionals who know something about motocross next time you want/need help.
