    I have been having great results using my trustee REMINGTON F-5800 dual foil shaver with the cutters in-between. Gets very close, job is done quickly, and the replacement heads are available for as low as $10-11, with the machine itself costing just $45 at either Walmart or Amazon. The BaBilyss pro foil (silver) however, is by far the best and closest cutting machine I have ever used to date at a higher price point. Thanks for the videos, subbed ....

    • @thedon2005

      This is way better than the Babyliss pro foil mainly because if you buy the model with the clean and renew charge station, the shaver is basically brand new for your next shave after the cleaning cycle is complete. Babyliss pro foil doesn’t have any automatic cleaning feature.

    Hi! How are you? I'm Brazilian fan and recently tested the philips norelco s9000 prestige and my dad has the braun series 9, both are excellent shavers plus a negative bridge from the foil shavers are the annoying noise and are not good for those who have very sensitive skin. I had the old philips model, but it has no comparison with this new model (prestige), the good points of the foil is that it does not need to make precise movements to shave like the rotary model. I can not say that foils are better than rotators because they both have their positive sides. Lately I'm preferring the rotary model, they are quieter and do not have an annoying noise but you have to know how to use it correctly.

    It didn't impress me at all, it doesn't have the power to cut wiry hair very well, plus it tries to avoid touching the skin so much that I had to press really hard to my skin to get it shave close otherwise it just passes over without doing anything. I ended up buying an Andis it cuts the hair on my face with power to spare and it doesn't avoid touching my skin, it takes more finess to avoid cutting the skin but its more than worth it. if you have fine soft hair than the Braun would probably work.

    • @4nciite
      @4nciite 5 лет назад +1

      If you use the Andis Profoil and just lightly apply it to your neck or face it cuts like a dream, its as close to a safety razor as you can get and still be electric. The Braun 9 Series for me was like using a cheap electric lawnmower over really thick grass, it'll cut eventually but it struggles and it doesn't look as good.

    • @tms6565

    Hey Nate I use a safety razor with and against the grain except for the back of the head near the bottom ( that area is very sensitive) if I use this and only go with the grain Will it still get me as clean as the razor? and 2. Will it cause razor bumps because foil shavers make me hella nervous with our type of hair

    I want to use them to shave my face. Does foils cause razor rash (darkening of skin)? Do they cut hair above or below the skin?

    • @AntiHamster500
      @AntiHamster500 4 года назад +1

      Depends how sensitive your skin is but typically foil shavers are gentler than contact razors. I get a little bit of razor rash just underneath my jaw line, but it's better than my regular razor. As for cutting depth a foil razor will cut slightly above the skin.

    • @rayjgold
      @rayjgold 4 года назад +2

      Yes, I am a witness that they do cause razor rash. key is to not press hard....to let your skin go through the foil....take your time....and use after shave.

    I have the Panasonic arc 5
    I use it for a wet shave. It gets really close. But handling the arc 5 can be a little crazy.
    Also, your head has to adjust to using a electric razor

      Can it handle head hair that's about 1/16" long ? Or would i need to first hit it with a clipper/trimmer ? Goal is to get down to near-bald (like 1/32")

      Rich Powell the arch 5 came today and the dry shave was the closest I've gotten and smooth. I'll check in tomorrow and let you know if I get razor bumps. I got the Braun series five from Walmart as my start to using an electric razor. I've been just cutting it as close as I could with a whaul balding razor for about a decade, so I might be more sensitive to shaving since it's about my third week. I got use to the Braun extremely quick, thanks to the advice in the videos, so we’ll see.

      Djuan Eastman ok thanks for the feedback. What model number arc5 did you get? I’m looking to save some money by not getting the cleaning system that comes with. Figure I can just clean it the regular way. Also do you prefer a dry shave over a wet one when using the arc 5 or any other electric razor?
