Wonderful instrument , marvelous musicianship, but also great characterization. The total package you possess! Wonderful performance. I am so looking forward to seeing you develop and grow into one of music's great stars! The beauty of your voice is extraordinary and makes me want to hear you sing Valentine but you do Mephistopheles so well, and give him both charm and the sinister quality he needs.
Décidément, tout est là. la voix, bien sûr. Et le charme vénéneux de Méphistophélès. Sans oublier le très grand mélodiste que fut Charles Gounod. Bravo.
I love PS but he isn't a Faust. Too nice and too beautiful. Not enough nasty. And the laughs are actually pitched. I've sung this aria. Listen to Bryn Terfel. It's brilliant and demonic
Yeah it’s because he isnt singing more than a mezzo forte in the music. He is employing so much head voice, which is very technically sound and probably meant he was on an off day vocally and was trying to save himself. But he definitely a Bass-Baritone. He could probably explore the Baritone high range like most bass baritones but he surely cant live there. It’s easy to tell!

Welcome and Congratulations!!
Another facet of your exquisite career. Thanks for sharing this wonder.

Genius version. A "hit" for some of us opera lovers & Philippe Sly's fans+. That voice timbre & quality, to begin with!
This is amazing!
THIS IS REALLY POWERFUL
This is beautiful music.
You like Naruto and Philippe... I like you then
Gar nicht meine Musik normalerweise.. aber ich liebe es ihm zuzuhören :D beeindruckend!
Les Allemands n'aiment pas Faust, ils considèrent que c'est de l'appropriation culturelle. héhé
When will you sing Avant de quitter ces lieux?
Браво !
Excelent !!!
Bravo!!!
Wonderful! Definitely in the French style, hiding the mockery behind the charm and elegance only to highlight it when it does show.
❤️❤️❤️
Sly slays it!
Okkkk I just want him to be my boyfriend could you imagine hear this voice everymorning😭😭
great voice and interpretation but i feel you are a baritone not a bass
he is a bass-baritone. and a pretty nice one at it.
He's a Bassbaritone and this is a bass baritone role?
@@litmo7494Of course he’s a bass-baritone as you say. I can’t see why anyone would say anything else.
There's a weird discourse nowadays that if you're not the deepest bass profundo in the world you should only sing papageno@@djperry211
Bassbaritone
Eine wirklich gute Interpretation - wenn auch (noch) nicht auf dem Referenz-Niveau von Ghiaurov.
I love PS but he isn't a Faust. Too nice and too beautiful. Not enough nasty. And the laughs are actually pitched. I've sung this aria. Listen to Bryn Terfel. It's brilliant and demonic
Good musician-shit and technique, but the Devil 😈 wasn’t there!
This guy ain't no bass-baritone. Even Tito Gobbi or Macneil sound darker
And they weren't under the pitch either....
What I noticed immediately. Its a beautiful voice, but not what I would consider a bass-baritone.

Pas très méchant ce Méphisto...
Bass bartiones really shouldn’t sing Mephistopheles. Just lacks balls. Great diction tho.
The problem this guy is not even a Bass-Baritone. Warren, Granforte, Bastianini and even Gobbi sound darker than this guy.
This role is explicitly written for a "Baryton Basse". But you can argue about it with Gounod, if you'd like to.
Tenore corto senza tecnica.
