@@mscott3918 Sadly I don't think Rameau operas are much performed on the international circuit. The kind of panache Philippe Sly brings to this extract is just what's needed.
Incredible, and you can thank your "Phantom of the Dance Floor" with Keisza for my interest and for the interest of so many others who have now found you.
Patrons of the arts should ask themselves if they are making contributions in the best places. Many Opera companies are not using the money to help the artform. They also do not in general respect the patrons enough. Patrons should consider " Le Chimera project" as an alternative. These people are creating great things.
I am just curious about the tune. Is there any reason why it is tuned by one whole tone down? (Baroque is usually tuned by semitone down). However the interpretation is excelent
Martin Blazevic one of the fun things about doing Baroque music is that there really wasn't just one standard pitch. It seems a lot of surviving French wind instruments from that. Play best around a 392, so that's sort of been adopted as a standard French Baroque pitch, never mind that there was no such thing in Rameau's time.
Where could you get a version of this score? Is it a new arrangement for this specific recording? The original is a bit plain and (just slightly) boring
baronjohna first of all it's a recording session, so you can't expect the same level of propriety as you would in a concert performance, and second, that poncing around is actually him conducting
Brilliant! What energy and style in his singing!

Wat een bijzonder mooie stem en wat een beeldige man; hij "danst" daarbij zo sierlijk met zijn handen en zijn armen, heel heel mooi om te horen en om te aanschouwen.

Fantastic! If Rameau was always sung like this the world would love him rather more...
PIPZZZ02 I have always loved Rameau and his French composers.

Très bon. Excellente voix. Mais l'orchestre : wow.
Schade, dass Rameau selbst wohl niemals einen so perfekten Interpreten seiner Werke erleben durfte ...
hommage à Rameau et à.... Gregory Reinhardt!

From what I can see, this is the original version. They're just giving it a lot of energy (and it's paying off).
@@6463538 but this version is so compact compared to the original...
Dommage que l'on ne comprenne pas le texte, il suffirait de quelques conseils, notamment pour les nasales.
Stud . Heehee .
I like Canadians... Good Day Eh...
Pitain de pubs !!!!
Adblock est ton ami
I appreciate the singing, arrangement and musicianship but not all the poncing around.

Musicians can't enjoy what they do? What a stuffy attitude!
