I did a two week tour around Lithuania in Oct.2019...and I felt in love with the country and the capital city. I would like to visit Latvia next year but there will be a stopover in Vilnius for a couple of days for sure. It´s such a wonderful city, full of culture, and life....thanks for this video, it´s really touching and the music is really suitable. Greetings from Spain

What a peaceful and beautiful city
It is now, but it has a brutal history up through WWI, WWII and even to 1990. Napolean's grand army stopped in Vilnius during their retreat from invading Moscow. There was not enough lodging so many soldiers spent their last money on alcohol, passed out and froze solid to death. Soldiers taht were going to die were carried from hospital beds and thrown out of windows to land on piles of corpses stacking up to the second floor. An estimated 20,000 soldiers were buried in Vilnius and mass graves have been uncovered during housing building projects.
