Thank you! Love these videos and seeing how to program my XD. Any change you can tackle some Jerry Goldsmith synth like used in Total Recall, Basic Instinct or just about any of his scores from the 80s or 90s?
i was trying to do this, but when i tried to hold shift while using the shape knob on the multi engine, the shift would stop working as soon as i tried to move the knob?
Can you save these settings in the Korg so you won't have to go through all this again? I don't have a synth, i've never used one but am thinking of getting one.
Need help ! How do I get rid of the « clic » we can hear at the beginning of each note ? (Even in this video, except at the end). When I try this config and go arp it’s blatant.
Sounds alright but nothing too special; I've probably stumbled upon similar sounds before without even meaning to. I honestly feel like I get amazing sounding stuff just by going to any Init patch on the thing and randomly turning knobs for 3-5 minutes, then dialing in what I have from there... overall, this synth is the most versatile piece of hardware I've worked with (though I don't have much experience), and playing with it is infinitely enjoyable. And yeah this has FF7 vibes just from the note choice at about 4:05.
Not quite the sound...maybe needs a HUGE reverb. To my ears, the virtual analog synths (mircoKorg and R3) have digital waveforms that fake FM synthesis so that might be the issue. Minilogue may be using those same digital wavforms? DX7 VSTs do better. VolcaKeys, microKorg, and R3 can achieve a whole boatload of Twin Peaks style patches as well. Haven't tried an MS2000 or Oasys but I am guessing those can do it too.
The XD basically has an entire 2 op fm synth within in. It’s most supposed to be exact. That’s impossible without the actual synth used in the original score. An Emulator I think. It’s very close all things considered. Idk why you thought it was gonna be exact lmao
It's probably because he doesn't wipe it, my black Monologue doesn't show them nearly as much (Unless the finish of the minilouge xd is different than the monologue's black finish)
So the last patch of the week happened two months ago. Must have been one heck of a week. Korg, you guys have to support your instrument a little better than that. Why is there no official Editor for patches? It really seems like someone is asleep at the wheel over there.
Lol Korg is required to make these videos at all. Name another company making this amount of patch videos for their synths. A patch editor isn’t a requirement either. The fun part of a hardware synth is being able to have physical knobs in front of you without being tied to a computer anyway. “Asleep at the wheel” lmao 🙄
Beautiful ending.
Wow that looks like real fun creating a sound from scratch :)
That's the joy of synthesis!
please keep up this cool series!! thanks.
Very nice sound, its very gentle.
Love my Minilogue XD!
Very soothing series! Keep this going
I love this series please keep it going☺️
Nice texture thxxx !
Great sound

Well that’s more than handy.. Just happen to have bought an XD and Angelo Badalamenti is one of my favourite film composers :)

Same problem here...
Also same
Thank you for great synths!!!

Evil Diesel Im pretty sure it has 300 saveable user presets, i could be wrong
500* and yeah

have you tried turning up the attack on the amp EG ever so slightly?
@@orangejewsify it worked thank you for the tip
Smooooth!
I think the original sound was created on the Yamaha DX7. It's really hard to recreat that percussive FM brightness using subtractive synthesis
Nice Patch. Full Sounding
Anyone else get FF vibes?
Final fantasy apparently. I do.
Final Fantasy.
FF7 to be exact! The best one!
More patches! How about some intricate pads? :D
Yeah Pads is what I want to heard from a Poly
will this work on a normal minilogue , not xd?
Nein
I should take up the keyboard, I used to play the piano.
Synthesizers can provide you with hours (weeks? months? years?) of fun. They're some of the most fun instruments to play. Go for it!
@@gasolineandwine thanks, I will.
👏

Really nice sound, but not really Twin Peaks tone (DX7 was used there if I remember correctly).
Right
Hence "twin peaks style"...just trying to emulate that sound, not duplicate it.
It’s not supposed to be exact. This is completely different synth. Did you really expect it to be exact?
That finish really shows up the fingerprints, eh

incaroads Dude, making an official patch editor takes time and effort

Stfu
Damn I will stick with software :))
