This sincerely made my imagination go wild.I can't wait to get mine home to try this for myself.Thank you so much for taking the time to explain how the looping was achieved, its brilliant 👏
The BPM setting limitation was driving me nuts! Even if I don't use the loop further down the line, it's been worth watching just to find out you can ramp it or take it lower for other uses. Excellently communicated too. Many thanks.
thanks, I've used long delays as loopers for years (4 -10 second ones best) but didn't know how to slow down the XD's 2 sec. delay ceiling via Seq Edit/BPM, very cool tip! Which also applies to very slow tempo Arps, Sequences etcs....so this is a double cool tip, thanks.
Thank you so much, this is really handy and I will definitely be using it to play around with, probably with Elektron Model:Cycles doing the beats. Also, I very much enjoyed your voice, very calming whilst explaining methodically and thoroughly. Thanks again! 😊
Holy schnitzel! Great work, I watch a lot of minilogue xd videos and your technique is truly inspiring! Thank you!!! I will be trying this post haste...
This is fantastic Danbo! I like the sequencer, but this looping effect is something I have been wondering about, super epic for long atmospheric jams. The fade out feature you described is brilliant, and would allow for great change over time, thanks for sharing!!
Hi Danbo, great tip! another way to get around the metronome is to go into global setting and enable the metronome for real time recording then start real time record and the metronome will start then import your notes to the beat ,stop recording after the first run and delete the notes on the sequencer, the notes played will still keep playing in time, hope that helps
Nice, I do something very similar with Sub 37 patched into a RE20 space echo and then ventris reverb, on Space echo have the delay intensity set to almost max and repeat rate at maximum, echo volume at 4oclock and this goes into a spacey type reverb on ventris, play notes on the sub 37 and they linger hrs if you let them, and you can play over the top all day long adding new things.
i think it even is a factory built in program at around 200.. But great video. I also sometimes do this and its really good to just think about the music
What a great way to find inspiration and create interesting soundscapes/melodies!!! THANK YOU! And now .....(since the loop is a fleeting and evaporating memory) my Tascam digital recorder makes more sense 😁 Oh yeah, I subscribed
jrush54 Thanks to you jrush54 for the kind comment! This method is pretty new to me and you can feel my excitement and hopefully We can both make good use of it!
Hey Danbo Have you checked out presetpatch.com ? XD users can share patches. It’s pretty cool. I just need to be careful not to submit patches that use non-XD (User created) Oscillators
i loved this video. i just started getting into synths and rented a fully functional studio. This piece in the lineup! Honestly, I am having challenged recording my synth intp the piano roll of fl Studio and porting everything correctly. A video on this would be awesome.
I was on the right side of the fence with with feet dangling! You just made me jump!! Incredible tutorial👌🏿.Excuse me a minute.”Hello is this Sweetwater?😂😂
such a great and helpful video, Danbo, thanks a lot for it! How did you get this patch sound? Can you please help me? Is it a downloadable multi-engine patch that I can buy?
Gread video, I'm looking for a 32-key synth in this price range (or lower) with a decent sequencer/looper. So I'm currently deciding between the Mililogue and the Roland JD-Xi. Can anyone suggest any other polysynths with similar looping facilities?
Hi Danbo. Thanks for sharing this. Really cool. Love the thought that the layers all eventually fade and the loop is forever evolving. I just ordered my XD this evening but have a question. Can I use an external metronome and set it to 44 too? Assuming that if I play in time with the external, the Korgs will start as soon as I play, and hence I will be able to keep track of time because of the external?
This is the single most useful trick for any synthesizer that I have ever encountered in all my years. Thanks, Danbo, you're a legend!
How can someone dislike this mindblowing gift you shared here? Thank you!
I agree with others. This is absolutely brilliant! Thank you for this. Just watching and listening is a real treat!
This is a genius and extremely creative way to use the delay
Well done! Definitely subbing now! Would love to watch more Minilogue XD videos from you.
I have quite a few korg synthesisers including the XD, thanks for sharing this wonderful technique....very enspiring
No worries mate. Glad it helps.
That’s really something new! Useful, inspiring and creative
This sincerely made my imagination go wild.I can't wait to get mine home to try this for myself.Thank you so much for taking the time to explain how the looping was achieved, its brilliant 👏
Thank you so much for the kind word!
Great video, now feeling inspired to go and try this 😀
Thank you so very much for this incredible display.
I’ll be all over that information in the next few minutes.
I’ll subscribe too.
This was great! Thank you for taking the time to post!
You are welcome! Steve
Excellent. I love how well you explain your process and the thinking behind it
Ben Wellby Thanks mate.
Subbed 👍
I've been going back and forth about which hardware synth to get. This one, in modular form, seems to be winning. Thanks!
The BPM setting limitation was driving me nuts! Even if I don't use the loop further down the line, it's been worth watching just to find out you can ramp it or take it lower for other uses. Excellently communicated too. Many thanks.
(I probably will be using the loop though!) :)
You are very welcome! Jude
Outstanding tutorial and improvisation! I just purchased the module and your demonstration has provided a new dimension for my creativity. Thank you!
Brian R Hi Brian, glad this video helps, :)

Very nice tips to counter some problems with the sequencer or to be exact, when you're not a master of sequencing. Thanks for sharing it!

This is great. You could even play with the envelope to create a percussive layer.
Very interesting! And now I'm off to create a loop on my m/l xd. Thanks for the tutorial 👍
Clearly explained and demonstrated. Thank you.

Great! Thx
Thank you brudda
Great !
Interesting! 👌👌
It’s really cool to lern it. I want to see, how can you build an analog synthesizer beat with minilogue xd.
Very nice. Thank you for your video. I wonder if I can do this with my Dreadbox Typhon.
Another thing you can do is play your original part at double the tempo, then drop the tempo to produce a nice open, ambient sound.
Great video, thanks.

If anyone happens to know, do any of the stereo delays have the same length of delay possible as the mono bpm delay?
