Thank you, Mark, I loved that! This type of death metal has everything I love about thrash metal, but obviously isn't thrash. Clear, heavy melody line, blazing clear solos, awesome drums and bass. I never tried a fretless bass myself, I should pop into a guitar shop and try one. I do enjoy most of the music on here, But I'm primarily here for the commentary 🙂
I know sod all about the band or the story behind any recent changes. But that song slapped hard. The chorus bit (for whatever bit of chorus there was) was particularly meaty. Never really got into proper death metal, my metal music journey went in at nu-metal then somehow straight to In Flames and the melodeath surrounding them. So many classic bands I apparently skipped over
Great recommendation, any metal video with a guitarist or bassist playing in an archway gets my vote. In addition, the bass comes through nicely. I did think at one point this track sounded a little bit like Morbid Angel, just at one point in the track. I currently only have one Morbid Angel album on CD 1993's "Covenant" with the classic "God of Emptiness" on the album. However, I was listening with volume low because I am currently sitting at my desk at work with the occasional member of staff walking past the office. Yes, Obscura have been in the news and I will not say why because people can Google it. Let me just say, it is not because of the new track's quality. Thanks Hedgy and Mark. 👍Approved!
Interesting story you told there 😀 Yep, I'm busy every now and then commenting good music😅. In my younger days I threw up in a bucket every once in a while...🍺. This song sounds to me like a caterpillar slowly crushing everything and no one can do anything about it. I'm a little afraid now to listen to the new single, but I'm brave and I will do it. Cheers. Nice you liked it (this one)...
Honestly, I hate most of the music you review. Most modern metal is just basic rhythms and melodies, lacking almost any musicality. But, I keep watching your channel so I can absolute gems like this song.
