@@BuildinWings There actually *was* an issue back in the early 90s where Magneto basically shows up to an event with the X-Men and all the various second-string teams and makes everyone hold still while he gives a big long "come to my side" recruitment speech to them. Fatal Attractions Magneto was really enjoying his power creep (until, conveniently, he got his brain turned off...this video may have been a summary all along...).
Magneto is so powerful in the comics. There's a (fairly recent) scene where his heart gets ripped out, but he forces the iron in his blood to circulate through his body and keep him alive. Edit: Also, Wolverine got the adamantium ripped off his bones (like in this video) in the 90s
@@Krab17 I would assume that something traumatic enough to tear your heart out would also deflate your lungs. Although I suppose Magneto doesn't need his lungs, if he's running blood through the hole in his chest then I suppose that blood would be able to exchange gasses with the air I guess.
I like how Logan presumably survived his brain being turned off because of his healing factor, although the loss of his entire body might take a lot longer to heal.
I assume the sound of falling after saying “No bones.” Was not probably because he had regenerated at least a part of his skeleton at that point and managed to get up. The reason he then fell is because he fell unconscious.
@@redder_well the metal is attached to his bones. Like while yes magneto probably could have just taken the metal out. It’s a lot easier to not, plus I don’t feel like magneto would be that merciful lol
There was one point in the comics where Magneto realized that atoms themselves have a magnetic field. He can literally pull people apart on the atomic level. The X-Men are so incredibly lucky that he's one of the more reasonable villains.
One of the more reasonable villains? "I was a victim of one of, if not the worst form of human genocide in recorded history and wish enact that very same genocide against anyone who doesn't have a mutant gene, despite the fact I've hooked up with and had children* with a hot Romani human woman." * I believe Wanda and Pietro's parentage is still under question. Human's have the possibility of carrying recessive mutant genes and passing them on to their progeny, therefore all humans must be enslaved." "I will manipulate human evolution and bring about the age of mutants no matter how many lives I have to destroy to achieve it!" "I am a literal fucking Egyptian GOD powered by space magic tech!" "We're from the government and we're here to help!" .....yeah, he is the most reasonable of them.
@@RisingRevengeance No, he was a mutant from the start. Depending on the origin story you believe, he might have gotten the claws from Weapon X, but he always had the rest of his powers.
I recall hearing that comic also said that adamantium was super toxic and Logan's healing factor was constantly detoxing him limiting what else he could recover from before that point.
@@Matt-xc6sp In the 1990s cartoon it was Captain America and Wolverine that rescued Magneto from his concentration camp. Though I'm sure there are other sources where it played out differently.

Magneto did once rip out Wolverine's skeleton. And that's how we ended up with Bone Claws Wolverine. Which also massively powered up his healing factor, which no longer had to constantly be healing dead tissue from the Adamantium constantly poisoning his body.
Fatal Attractions....I can't remember the issue # I'd have to dig through a pile of my old comic books and stuff to find it. It was the high point of the entire X-Men comics...after that, and the Phalanx saga, everything kinda went downhill, imo.

Funny enough, these and more are all canon abilities he has in the comics and part of the reason he's considered one of the strongest/most dangerous mutants. Other stuff he's done includes holding major cities hostage by moving sattelites over them and threatening to drop them on the cities, messed with the earths magnetic poles and caused massive flooding, and tanked a nuclear blast with his electromagnetic shield.
I do kind of wonder how the hell he creates that force. Like sure, he can create magnetic fields, but you would need a damn strong magnetic field to hold a satellit over a city. I mean, I also have the ability to lift a wooden stick from the ground, but does that mean I can threaten people by throwing trees at them?
@@wjzav1971 It's not just creation of magnetic fields, he can manipulate existing fields as well. So if he's doing something that seems too much he's probably manipulating the earth's magnetic field to give himself the needed boost in power.

It really depends on how powerful and precise Magneto's control over electromagnetic fields are. Jean has been powerful enough to resist any attempts to pull her blood out of her body (she has Uber Telekinesis, which doesn't even require the excuse of magnetism to do stuff), and fast enough to pull that helmet off with her mind and then turn the brain switch off. But that's the fun of X-Men, the completely OP powers alongside stuff like Cyclops shooting punches out of his eyes.
I thing Mags gets horrific migraines if he uses his powers too much, Jeans turns "Dark"" is she uses her powers too much, and Cyke can vaporize mountains with his eye punches but loses them if left in the dark too long.
There can be limitits to that power, the problem is when a writer rises the bar causing the character to become less and less confrontable until you give them saitama syndrome
To quote someone I saw on another video involving Magneto and his abilities; the more we come to understand about magnetism, the more powerful Magneto theoretically becomes, like the stuff he can do with it in theory is actively insane
There’s an anime where the main character has magnetic powers and 99% of what she does involves electricity (because you can induce current, including in the nervous system to affect biological things) or accelerating projectiles (a railgun). Hardly ever simply hurling metal stuff at people because it’s kinda useless. I always looked at it as what Magneto could do, but refuses to because he likes to suffer. He could probably just shut people down by shocking them and/or driving their nerves haywire.
Yea unless Magneto has the mind stone, he still has to filter that power through his brain. Like even you pulled as hard as possible the iron in your body wouldn't help him. It was only possible in that one movie because the guy has a large amount of iron in his system. So he couldn't reduce someone to atoms its too hard for him to focus like trying to look at a particular atom. Unless of course he was empowered by the mind stone. As for messing with the magnetic field its just too vast it would be easier to cause a worldwide metal storm. He would need the power stone to pull that one off. Just like how Xavier needs Cerubro to expand his very specific and precise powers. Thats a drop in the bucket compare to the type of power Magneto needs to pull off those feats.

@Lord Typh Long story short, mutants currently have their own nation of Krakoa. They terraformed Mars as a sign of power to the other nations/powers of Earth. Uranos was sent to attack the Mars colony, called Arakko, since the Eternals' leader at the time, Druig, convinced the other Eternals that mutants were another form of their old enemies, the Deviants. Even if Uranos didn't decimate Arakko, a human industrialist named Kelvin Heng/Feilong was planning to do so since he was pissed that the X-Men beat him to the punch of colonizing Mars. There's more to the story, but I don't have all the details. The recent event, Judgment Day, could help explain things better than I could.
Blood iron is weakly magnetic, like most elements, also all elements have some kind of magnetic interaction. This actually boils down to a limit in how powerful a magnetic magnito can make, which in most cases is only enough to influence farro magnetic materials like cobalt and iron.
That's in the Fox Xmen movies. In the comics he will absolutely unmake you by tearing your protons out of your nuclei and dissipating you into weird and exotic states of matter.

This is pretty accurate to the comics actually. At one point Magneto casually discusses how he can move planets when fighting… I think it was Iron Man? Not sure but the point is he later somehow harnessed Jupiter’s magnetic field or something to make himself as strong as Hulk.
The best part, what Magneto is talking about is Ferro-Magnetism, guess what, he’s not limited to that. He can literally control every single form of Magnetism, to put it another way he has total dominion over one of the four fundamental forces of physics. This guy can look at you, move a particle out of alignment, and turn you into A-Bomb. Him calling himself a God isn’t really all that ridiculous, the only reason he doesn’t completely dominate the world is he actually has a moral code. He’s fighting for Mutant rights, world domination is only something he’s interested in if he can’t find a better way to ensure his people won’t be oppressed, it’s also why he doesn’t kill the X-Men despite the fact he easily could. That and yes, Xavier’s powers are a very serious to him, there’s a reason he keeps that helmet on all the time, also if he ever did escalate the fight like that, Xavier would find a way to retaliate in kind. Also, fun fact, Magneto once did pull all of Logan’s metal out, it messed him up something fierce and if memory serves he was basically driven into a state of permanent berserker rage for awhile.
I remember that time with Beast and Jubilee being the only ones who could go near him for a while and they kinda re-civilicing him. But I'm not 100% sure if that's how it was or I'm having a Mandela effect memory... 🤔

Yeah, the thing most comic book writers don’t understand is that Magneto’s mutant power is _complete mastery of one of the four fundamental forces that govern the laws of physics._ He’s basically the god of the Electro-Magnetic Force. Which is the thing responsible for chemical reactions, molecules, radio waves, light, electricity, particle accelerators, how our brains work, why physical objects are even able to interact with each other at all, and a whole bunch of other things. Like, literally the only reason you’re not being pulled through the ground by the Earth’s gravitational field is because your body’s electromagnetic field is powerful enough to repel the electromagnetic field of whatever it is you’re standing on right now. When you cut a sandwich in half, you’re using the knife to slice through the electromagnetic field of the sandwich and splitting it into two smaller electromagnetically contained units of molecules. _And Magneto has complete control over the laws of reality that make that a thing._ If the writers had any idea how anything worked, Magneto would be unbeatable.
The only reason they beat him half the time is because he and Charles have a good relationship and he doesn't like beating up children. Like there was one time where he didn't throw missiles at the school because Iceman was crying so he just sat down and talked to the kid and gave him his helmet to wear. His entire first fight with them was him putting on a show so his ex-best friend's team would have a good debut. The first time he was arrested and tried was because he accidentally electrocuted Kitty Pryde and realized she was a teenager so he quit.
I think after Magneto was shown to be able to control blood flow by influencing iron in it and also control _entirety_ of electromagnetism, he's basically on Dr.Manhattan level. Thankfully nobody yet realized how broken he is apparently 🤣
It is known how OP Magneto is he just prefers playing politica with Xavier, who is also powerful as hell, so they stay in stelmate for story reasons. Similar situation to Dr Doom who i the most powerful sorcerer, but is busy fighting dracula and devil

Without that backwater adamantium that was injected into his bones he should be healing faster since i believe that is what damages his healing factor eventually killing him.
This event almost literally happened in the Fatal Attractions storyline where Magneto ripped all of the adamantium out of Wolverine's body. It was how it got revealed that he actually always had the claws even before the adamantium. His healing factor also went into super-overdrive during that time period because he wasn't constantly fighting adamantium poisoning. Had the weird side-effect of making him look like some weird gorilla thing, though.
"so you just killed him like that like it was nothing" my brother in Christ did you miss the part where he can literally kill anyone with blood instantly
Guess this version of Cyclops didn't go through the multiple times Charles faked his own death for...reasons? Just to traumatize everyone around him. Whole buncha different ways. Killing everyone around oneself is a whole lot less effort than years-long gaslighting. Oh, and refusing to use his powers to be useful at a larger level.
I like how wolverine is in the worst pain anything may ever feel and compares it to the time he went to the Picasso exhibit like it was the worst thing he felt before that point his entire skeleton was ripped from his body.
Now Logan's healing factor just has to realize, that it doesn't have to deal with adamantium poisoning anymore; and can go and do the same thing that was happening to Savage, AKA make him wilder. Which resulted in him being more beast-like while looking like a roided version of himself.
Also, just realized that his "brain turn off switch". Is him, putting them in a coma, which explains the "There is nothing but darkness!". Because they are then prisoners in their own bodies.

After seeing that professor x said you no I support the sentinel program then magneto said please I'll never use that power again

I love how Magento's boasting about being a God, gets his brain turned off, and the moment he comes back he starts panicking about there being no afterlife.
This just makes me think of that one scene of Magneto getting tricked by Mr Fantastic with a wooden gun.
Assuming the gun had no bullets or whatever and it was just to trick him... wouldn't there be just so much shot around them to magnetise?
Like a street lamp or a manhole or a coin or even the metal armour Magneto was wearing?

The fact this happened during the latest episode of X-men 97 is just too funny for me
Logan was hands down the funniest thing in this skit, by a mile. And this was a very funny skit, to put that in perspective.
Thank you a lot of it was ad lib
"No bones"
That face Magneto made when he realized it was all darkness was priceless. 😂 That part had me laughing so hard
Funny how apparently everyone panics when they realize there's nothing after death, as if they all are christians or something.
My mom actually was dead for a while after her stroke and she just casually said: "Nope, there's nothing there. Your brain just turns off and that's it"
Well to be fair he wasn't really dead, just blacked out. See what i did there? I'll show myself out.

Xavier's telepathy is no joke, he can even compete against Galactus in telepathic battle and that should tell you how powerful he is.
It's still kind of a joke though. Like how Gambit can just straight up ignore Xavier (and any telepaths) abilities by thinking "semi-sexual" thoughts to the point they get grossed out and leave.
@@SSD_Penumbra so basically Gambit trolls them into leaving.
@@BappadityaNath Pretty much, which means either Magneto's "psychic dampening helmet" doesn't actually work and he just wears it to look cool OR Gambit's thoughts are stronger than whatever element made Magneto's helmet.
He once fought on equal ground with The Hood while he was wearing the Mind Infinity Stone.
He lost, but still, the fact that Xavier could compete for a while against infinite telepathic powers Is telling.
@@SSD_Penumbra Well, Xavier's telepathy works through the astral plane. People with odd or blocked connections to it can't be mentally assaulted, and training can increase protections. Gambit is an example of that.
Coming back to this after today's X-Men 97 episode
fun fact, the helmet actually is made of metal meant to keep Xavier out, alongside other telepaths.
Also, Magneto really does get legit broken in the comics and that whole thing with ripping out the Adamantium in Wolverine's body IS something he's done in canon.
Originally Magneto didn't even need the helmet for that purpose... he could just manipulate fields around his head and make himself immune to telepathy. The idea that the helmet protected him from telepathy came from the movies and was so popular it became canonized in the comics.
Fun fact, Magneto recently was part of a bunch of omega level mutants that live on Mars with Storm being their leader. They all got wiped out in about an hour by Uranos (Thanos' grandpa)... Where Magneto got his heart ripped out... Magneto survived because he kept his blood flowing even without a heart.
@@Mindflayer_Inc ...that just sounds like a really stupid character insertion. Why Mars anyway?
@@LordTyph I mean, the whole planet is made of iron, seems like a good spot for magnet guy, no?
@Lord Typh
Long story short, mutants currently have their own nation of Krakoa.
Magneto can just make all iron in one blood vessel clog up. If it is in brain, instant death.
That's in the Fox Xmen movies. In the comics he will absolutely unmake you by tearing your protons out of your nuclei and dissipating you into weird and exotic states of matter.
@@Artemas_16 He would have to be able to create extremely strong magnetic fields to do that. At most he can just wiggle your hemoglobin. At those magnetic fields he would quicker break your brain before he could mess with your blood.
@@Ryrzard I mean, dude can move axis of Earth, I'd say he can create magnetic field pretty strong. But yeah, it would probably be easier to do that instead of moving iron in vessels. Though latter could be used as assasination method, aneurisms can be sudden for any people while magnetic field usage will tell clearly who did it.
He actually held all of the X-Men in magnetic fields for full paralysis of all of them while he began a monolog that resulted in several of them leaving. There was a chance he could have killed Bishop if he was held longer, absorbing Magneto's power while still being paralyzed.
fun fact, during the early 2000s, there was an x-men arc where magneto used his powers to redirect the flow of blood away from xavier's brain - and marvel writing/editorial staff just subsequently went like "yeah, we're going to act like that never happened"
This video willed X-man ‘97 into existence
With a Solid JJ video, it's ALWAYS the Fun Way!
This is pretty accurate to the comics actually. At one point Magneto casually discusses how he can move planets when fighting… I think it was Iron Man? Not sure but the point is he later somehow harnessed Jupiter’s magnetic field or something to make himself as strong as Hulk.
Yep, and then he slugged Tony with the power of the Sun itself. Dude is insane.
LMAO I DIED 😂😂😂😂
1:21
Yeah, that s basically how op he is.
And in retaliation for hurting Wolverine, Xavier mind-wiped him and created the god Onslaught, leading to a reboot of the canon. Xavier is scary when he gets mad.
I really love how two of the X-Men's major villains aren't there as a power contest to the x-men, but as a idealogical challenge (Magneto and Apocalypse). It's just a shame we won't see a good x-men movie.

I mean, Magneto and Apocalypse basically won the ideological battle, what with the X-Men deciding that (A) mutants and humans should be segregated and that (B) mutants are superior.
They've become the Brotherhood.
Now THIS is the content I wanna see. A franchise I know getting dissected in a comedic way. Keep up the good work.
It's interesting how with everyone Xavier has revived after "turning their brain off" they go on about how there's nothing when we die and Xavier just brushes it off like it's nothing to worry about.
This is why sometimes I wish I could be immortal, but the wearing down of my brain from that and living past everyone I've ever known and love would be too much to bear even then.
it also is the only piece of marvel lore that's wrong in the video. Heaven and hell exist, in fact there are several afterlives. nightcrawler was super happy when he died and woke up in paradise(heaven).
@@tropicalpenguin4668 Tbf, since when has the lore ever been an issue with these types of comedic videos? @@tropicalpenguin4668 pretty sure Nightcrawler dad is literally devil pirate. YOHOHO
Yeah, the thing most comic book writers don’t understand is that Magneto’s mutant power is _complete mastery of one of the four fundamental forces that govern the laws of physics._
He’s basically the god of the Electro-Magnetic Force. _And Magneto has complete control over the laws of reality that make that a thing._
If the writers had any idea how anything worked, Magneto would be unbeatable.
Depending on precision, and so fourth.
His origin story was that his family was killed and killed everyone there upon discovering his powers
Yeah but what are his pronouns
I mean when you consider some beings in the marvel universe can control reality itself, Magneto is pretty tame.
He always wins

1:44 lol douche. He totally waited for Magneto to actually kill before telling them about the helmets. Or better yet, telling them telepathically
I think after Magneto was shown to be able to control blood flow by influencing iron in it and also control _entirety_ of electromagnetism, he's basically on Dr.Manhattan level. Thankfully nobody yet realized how broken he is apparently 🤣
Not even himself.
Durability is an issue though. People can shoot him when he's not looking, speedsters can blitz him... Dr Manhattan has no such problem.
@Cannabis Dreams That literally happened in the comics back in 2021. Mutants colonized Mars.
I mean, plot armour finds ways
It is known how OP Magneto is he just prefers playing politica with Xavier, who is also powerful as hell, so they stay in stelmate for story reasons.
Similar situation to Dr Doom who i the most powerful sorcerer, but is busy fighting dracula and devil
Welp, they did it
Anybody here after X Men season 1 finale?
Well, seeing how Wolverine has managed to go trough almost anything, I think being cut in half and not having any bones shouldn't be THAT much of a problem for him, he'll probably be good in a few hours
Probably
Without that backwater adamantium that was injected into his bones he should be healing faster since i believe that is what damages his healing factor eventually killing him.
This event almost literally happened in the Fatal Attractions storyline where Magneto ripped all of the adamantium out of Wolverine's body. It was how it got revealed that he actually always had the claws even before the adamantium. His healing factor also went into super-overdrive during that time period because he wasn't constantly fighting adamantium poisoning. Had the weird side-effect of making him look like some weird gorilla thing, though.
@@JackgarPrime I can't remember how he looked, but I remember that he went insane for the pain overdrive and they had to re-civilize him... 😨
@@spiker.ortmann He looked like some kind of gorilla-wolf hybrid thing, it was very strange. Also, his uniform was all torn up for some reason.

Guess this version of Cyclops didn't go through the multiple times Charles faked his own death for...reasons?
Just to traumatize everyone around him. Whole buncha different ways.
Killing everyone around oneself is a whole lot less effort than years-long gaslighting.

Well, the show is based on the comics. The wolverine part was actually a panel pull out too.
Not the one in this video, but the one from the show
I like how wolverine is in the worst pain anything may ever feel and compares it to the time he went to the Picasso exhibit like it was the worst thing he felt before that point his entire skeleton was ripped from his body.

Because they are then prisoners in their own bodies.
