There was one point in the comics where Magneto realized that atoms themselves have a magnetic field. He can literally pull people apart on the atomic level. The X-Men are so incredibly lucky that he's one of the more reasonable villains.

One of the more reasonable villains?
"I was a victim of one of, if not the worst form of human genocide in recorded history and wish enact that very same genocide against anyone who doesn't have a mutant gene, despite the fact I've hooked up with and had children* with a hot Romani human woman."
      * I believe Wanda and Pietro's parentage is still under question.
Honestly, how is he compared to their other enemies....
"We are programmed to eliminate all mutants. Human's have the possibility of carrying recessive mutant genes and passing them on to their progeny, therefore all humans must be enslaved."
"I will manipulate human evolution and bring about the age of mutants no matter how many lives I have to destroy to achieve it!"
"I am a literal fucking Egyptian GOD powered by space magic tech!"

Tbf, it’s “organic metal” basically it isn’t magnetic. Same reason as how he isn’t able to control everything metal, so metals aren’t magnetic.
Though if he’s able to control anything through the electromagnetic force (literally one of the main 4 forces of nature, gravity, electromagnetism, strong nuclear force, and weak nuclear force.) with control of the electromagnetic force he could basically rip apart basically anything. It was only possible in that one movie because the guy has a large amount of iron in his system. So he couldn't reduce someone to atoms its too hard for him to focus like trying to look at a particular atom. Unless of course he was empowered by the mind stone. As for messing with the magnetic field its just too vast it would be easier to cause a worldwide metal storm. He would need the power stone to pull that one off. Just like how Xavier needs Cerubro to expand his very specific and precise powers. Thats a drop in the bucket compare to the type of power Magneto needs to pull off those feats.

Long story short, mutants currently have their own nation of Krakoa. They terraformed Mars as a sign of power to the other nations/powers of Earth. Uranos was sent to attack the Mars colony, called Arakko, since the Eternals' leader at the time, Druig, convinced the other Eternals that mutants were another form of their old enemies, the Deviants.

    • @robonator2945

@@iami3rian394 magnetism is a property of the arrangement of the atoms themselves, not the number of protons in the nucleus of the atoms which is how we define an element. Once you put it into a compound even the magnetism an element might have is completely mitigated unless that compound itself also just so happens to be magnetic; there is a reason rust isn't magnetic despite being primarily iron.
This is why, no, he couldn't actually manipulate iron in the blood, because the iron in human blood isn't literal chunks of iron; it's isolated into compounds within blood cells.
It's fine as a joke in a video but your clearly under the impression that reality is just factually different from how it is and have waaaay too much unearned confidence in it. If he, in the way he was traditionally written (if you start to include all of the batshit off-the-wall one-off things then, again, Tony has Endosym armor too which he could just command to instantly encapsulate and kill magneto telepathically) were capable of doing what you describe he'd just have flat out different powers. That's why in the X-men movie the guard was given an injection of elemental iron, presumably coated with a phospholipid of some sort so as to not kill him and float around his blood like any other cell, for magneto to be able to pull it out of him.

When the haemoglobin is not carrying oxygen it is more sensitive or paramagnetic than oxygenated blood. If you put a drop of blood next to a magnet is there any noticeable magnetic effect?
It has only been in the last fifteen years that this difference in magnetic property has been used in magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) research. MRI uses a very strong magnetic field so this difference in the magnetic properties of oxygenated and deoxygenated haemoglobin in blood can be detected. This change is called the BOLD (blood oxygenation level dependent) signal"
From the literal first Google search. 😁
Helps to check yourself before you say things.
That said, iron oxide has two unpaired electrons, and is ALSO magnetic, and much like gold you simply need a powerful enough magnet to measure this.
And finally, the number of protons in the nucleus indicates the number of electrons... which is what (partially) determines magnetism.
In a compound, say..... iron oxide, the magnetic forces are countered by the electron bonds. Assuming magneto had INCREDIBLY fine control of his powers, he could separate those bonds, or simply lift from only the oxygen, or only the iron. It's not nearly as outlandish as you seem to think.

Yeah, the thing most comic book writers don’t understand is that Magneto’s mutant power is _complete mastery of one of the four fundamental forces that govern the laws of physics._
He’s basically the god of the Electro-Magnetic Force. Which is the thing responsible for chemical reactions, molecules, radio waves, light, electricity, particle accelerators, how our brains work, why physical objects are even able to interact with each other at all, and a whole bunch of other things. Like, literally the only reason you’re not being pulled through the ground by the Earth’s gravitational field is because your body’s electromagnetic field is powerful enough to repel the electromagnetic field of whatever it is you’re standing on right now. When you cut a sandwich in half, you’re using the knife to slice through the electromagnetic field of the sandwich and splitting it into two smaller electromagnetically contained units of molecules. _And Magneto has complete control over the laws of reality that make that a thing._
If the writers had any idea how anything worked, Magneto would be unbeatable.

This is pretty accurate to the comics actually. At one point Magneto casually discusses how he can move planets when fighting… I think it was Iron Man? Not sure but the point is he later somehow harnessed Jupiter’s magnetic field or something to make himself as strong as Hulk.

This event almost literally happened in the Fatal Attractions storyline where Magneto ripped all of the adamantium out of Wolverine's body. It was how it got revealed that he actually always had the claws even before the adamantium. His healing factor also went into super-overdrive during that time period because he wasn't constantly fighting adamantium poisoning. Had the weird side-effect of making him look like some weird gorilla thing, though.

Funny thing is, Magneto taking off Logan's adamantium is the worst possible choice here. Logan had to get used to moving with the metal skeleton because is was so heavy, so without it he's really fast. Oh and his healing factor constantly has to fight adamantium poisoning. So without it the healing factor is much stronger, and Logan is nearly unkillable.

The best part, what Magneto is talking about is Ferro-Magnetism, guess what, he’s not limited to that. He can literally control every single form of Magnetism, to put it another way he has total dominion over one of the four fundamental forces of physics. This guy can look at you, move a particle out of alignment, and turn you into A-Bomb. Him calling himself a God isn’t really all that ridiculous, the only reason he doesn’t completely dominate the world is he actually has a moral code. He’s fighting for Mutant rights, world domination is only something he’s interested in if he can’t find a better way to ensure his people won’t be oppressed, it’s also why he doesn’t kill the X-Men despite the fact he easily could. That and yes, Xavier’s powers are a very serious to him, there’s a reason he keeps that helmet on all the time, also if he ever did escalate the fight like that, Xavier would find a way to retaliate in kind.
Also, fun fact, Magneto once did pull all of Logan’s metal out, it messed him up something fierce and if memory serves he was basically driven into a state of permanent berserker rage for awhile.
