goats eye is my favorite lift since the only time i went there was my second time snowboarding and it was perfect for challenging but not too challenging terrain. can't wait to revisit in the future now that i'm much more experienced with techy terrain!
On a fast day the ski out is super fun. I haven’t been there with the ski out open in a long time but I’ll never forget the speed I got for how long. Don’t do it on powder days or slow days, but otherwise it’s actually pretty good.
Great list. We love Standish as well for the terrain. I wish they made WaWa a high speed quad. The reason the lines are so long is because it’s always stopping because people mess up loading on the conveyer belt. We always start on WaWa before the newbies attempt it. I think Sunshine has the best lift system in Alberta myself.
Yeah, the loading conveyors seem to really mess beginners up (AHEM Spirit Chair at Norquay), but I think Wawa could really benefit from being a high-speed lift.
Should've noted some features of lifts in more depth, Wawa has nice trees and a fun slack country area, Goatseye the double black southside chutes are hardly a hike, a 1 minute walk. Great divide can be super cold from wind sometimes. Goatseye is easily the most windy lift on the front face, Standish has terrain that is good for progressing into steep stuff and it has one cool drop in and some fun cliffs.
Great list, mount standish is not super busy cause it’s kinda hard to get to. You will have to ski/walk up to get to the lift. We usually take angel express and cut through all the way left to reach mount standish. When lunchtime comes around we always ski mount standish cause it takes you to the hotel restaurant.
Great list! I gotta admit, I like that Tee Pee Town LX is not number 1 solely because of the bubbles and heated seats. That would be like saying that Ramcharger 8 is the best lift out there (PAUL), which isn’t entirely true, I’ll make sure to check out Standish if I ever visit Sunshine Village. And the gondola definitely is like Lumberslack at Copper, except that the gondola is mandatory for the most part.
Exactly! The skiing isn't about the lifts, it's about the terrain. And while Lookout Mountain does have some good terrain, it's not as good as Goat's Eye or Mt. Standish. And yes, the gondola is a pain in terms of terrain serviced, but still a cool lift nonetheless.
Pretty perfect list tbh, I would maybe bump jackrabbit up one simply because of utility for getting to goatseye, ski out etc. Also bump divide up one because the dive is just that good. Lastly put goats eye at no 1 because wild west is amazing, least flat areas and most advanced terrain on the resort.
Yeah, it's very flat. Generally, Goat's Eye doesn't have that many flat sections and Mt. Standish is okay for flat sections, but anywhere else and it's just flat.
@@growtimez It's true, Goat's Eye is definitely one of the best areas. Overall, for all the reasons I mentioned in this video, there are probably much better ski hills in AB than Sunshine. It's okay for skiers, but it would definitely suck for snowboarders.
I loved this lift ranking format! It's super informational and fun to watch
Thanks! Glad you enjoyed it.

Great video. Your site is great. I will be visiting Banff first time with a big 3 season pass. Your videos have been a great help.
Thank you for the kind words, glad my videos have been a help!

I like the ski out too. I always try to throw a pole over the slow banners and catch it. I catch about 80% of the time so making all 3 is cool.
The old Tee Pee Town was absolutely brutally cold, reminds me of some of the horrendous lifts we have over here in Scotland
The ski out is faster than the gondola. The jackrabbit requires you to traverse a large flat.

Great lift ranking! My favorite lift at the resort is probably the Gondola. Also, I really like the thumbnail.
The Gondola is a cool lift for sure. Just not my favorite at the resort.

1 Goat's Eye
2 TeePee
3 Standish
4 Wawa
5 Wolverine
6 Great Divide
7 Angel (TeePee makes it useless)
8 Strawberry

The ski out is way faster then the gondola plus you can ski to your vehicle
Really? Even with the multiple flat sections? TBH I much prefer the gondi for going down, especially after a grueling day on Goat's Eye.
@@Skier72 Have to agree, can do the ski out in less than ten minutes on a snowboard.
@@joeschannel246 Suppose it depends on which conditions you get it on.
I've always preferred the ski out but it can get gnarly at the end of the day with too many bodies trying to occupy too little space.
@@brucemartin974 maybe because I always went on weekdays not weekends that I never had any issues.
Can you do Big White?
Standish was the first lift I went on at sunshine it has some great Terrain
jack rabbit is the best beginner lift
Goats eye is massive
why "skier 72" if you want a hill for boards?
I'm a skier. I don't understand the question.
Standish is easily the best! Such good laps
By far.
@@Skier72 I feel the same for Christmas Tree Express at Sugar Bowl - short ride, steep terrain.
never go back to this hill. flat spots everywhere. if i still was a skier i’d have enjoyed it more.

@@Skier72 you bet. try powderking yet? that’s my local hill
@@growtimez Never been to Powderkeg, but driven past it lots and it looks like a great hill!
You need to slow down your speaking a bit and enunciate a little better. Thanks. Difficult to make out some words.
Thanks, will do in future videos. 👍
