The first one is the asshole simply for wanting a wife without having to actually have a wife. He wants a wife that's only the fun parts and not having to actually take interest in her hobbies. He won't go to events, he won't take her to fancy dinners, he won't watch niche horror with her, etc.

For the childish date one, I don't think she had a "heart of gold". I think she is a young, 20-year-old who has been told her whole life to be polite to men, even if she's scared and it puts her in danger, because that is what society teaches us. She went on a second date because she doesn't know how to stand up for herself and she is used to not trusting herself and instead gives him the benefit of the doubt. Not her fault at all and I hope she gains confidence as she gets older.
SO TRUE! There have been so many times in my life where people have made me feel like a terrible person for “not even giving that poor guy a chance” when someone asked me out and I politely declined, because I didn’t feel any attraction to them. I’ve never been in a situation where I initially felt nothing, then later became attracted to someone. But people act like that happens all the time, where a woman magically becomes attracted to someone she felt nothing for after going on enough dates with them (???). And it’s not even a looks thing, this has happened with guys who I thought were pretty handsome, they were nice, clean, didn’t do anything weird or inappropriate, but I still just…didn’t feel anything for them. But society tells women that the right thing to do is just date them anyway and I guess just pretend to have feelings for them? Anything to get the guy what he wants, it seems like, because he “took a chance” and you’re a cold-hearted b*tch if you don’t reward him with…yourself. It’s messed up.
Girls, grab my hand here and let's agree on something: please STOP excusing sh*tty behavior at the beginning of relationships. If a guy says sh*t like that to a complete stranger, just drop him, drop him ON THE SPOT, because it will not get better, it just won't. We think that we can give them a chance and they'll get nicer, but the thing is: they will only get nicer when they realize that it is not okay for them to act this way, so yeah, your job is to dump his *ss so he can learn that actions have consequences and THEN he can try and be mindful of others, but trust me when i say: thats not gonna happen with you, the person that forgave his as*holeness 🤷🏾♀️
The colour was a bit of a nono but combined with the floor length, the almost train and it's strapless seems like too many 'coincidences'. Also as someone who watches say yes to the dress I've seen a lot of wedding dresses in that style lol
With the "pokédex" story, I remember one of the top comments. It was from a woman who really tried to hit it home for this douché why women would find it creepy af. Like for example "why does suddenly every guy that ask me out take me to my favorite restaurant when I haven't even told them which one it is? How do they know my favorite gift?" Etc. Also, he's kind of naïve if he can't see that "impressing" girls is often the first step for some guys to get into their pants. Aka, that list is a "how to have the best chance to have sex with these women" spreadsheet.
I think for the dress it’s also important to know what other guests were wearing. I highly doubt any other guest dressed this over the top. Also Stephanie did make her own post in response.
As soon as I saw the title, I immediately knew what story it was because I listened to another Reddit Podcaster talk about the story and I was blinded with rage the first time I heard it because I’m a woman
For the ex’s wedding. That is the definition of a revenge dress. Like for weddings, you’re not supposed to wear all white, black or red dresses. So unless the theme of the wedding was elegance with red in the color scheme, OP ITA. I just wanna know if she wore that dress and feigned ignorance for this post or if someone told her to get that dress and wear.
that dress is not really acceptable for most weddings. weddings usually send out a dress code on invitation. but a bright red floor length dress totally takes away from the bride. and from a woman’s perspective it wouldn’t surprise me if the ex wife wore the dress on purpose 😅 but hopefully not
I keep commenting but I can't see my own comment, maybe bc I put a link? Idk On the original post, there's a link to the dress that says "red wedding dress" Also, there's other links and if you see the description, it's kinda obvious it wasn't a regular dress. In addition to this, OP also posted on r/true off my chest, under the title "I upstaged the bride at her wedding and honestly, I don't care" After telling the same story, she says the situation was "satisfying"
Have to disagree with the wedding story. this girl came in a bright red wedding dress, to her exes wedding to show off. she even made a post about it while she say she was overstepping the bride and didn't care on TOMC. The worst of all she dressed her kids in bright red too. she literally brought her own wedding party to her exes wedding to overstep the bride.
As someone that got married less than a year ago, I saw the dress and I was like, I have no issue with it, she must have looked great! That being said I can understand that wearing something that tight and bold, can be seen as a way to take attention away from the wedding and have it be all about her. I feel like she would have known that when she bought the dress, most women put a lot of effort into what they wear, mostly to a nice event. I guess overall, I would say she is the asshole because she wore it to her ex's wedding and did not leave when asked to, but if it would have been anyone other guest, I think the dress was just fine
35:00 1. The OP getting so laser focused on his gf being naked during a medical emergency is really telling. It leads me to believe that if he found a girl that was in a similar situation, he would only be thinking sexual thoughts... possibly acting on them too, but hopefully not. 2. This guy is also the same kind of person that would insist that breastfeeding is somehow a naughty/dirty thing. Like, he would probably feel threatened if he had a son being fed by the mother. 😅
Not sure why a lot of people are against this dress. At my wedding every female we’re beautiful long gowns in all colors including red. I didn’t have a problem with any. As longs as nobody is wearing white or something that can be mistaken as a wedding dress I don’t see problem. I can only see it wrong if it’s s very casual wedding and she over dressed on purpose to show off.
I have a certain friend who *always* treats me to dinner, movies, etc when we hang out. Because he knows I can't really afford it. Even when I do have some money, he'll offer to pay. Heck, he even baught me a whole new ssd harddrive when mine somehow wiped itself 100% empty (he took it to work, IT, and even his boss couldn't figure it out). I don't know, I feel like it's such a bs move to always jump to "oh they must be cheating" if someone is treating someone else. Then again, I grew up in a country where that is just common curtesy towards your friends and loved ones
I feel like the dress issue is very subjective because to me the dress alone is completely fine. If it had a lot other lavish accessories like flowers in hair or gloves on hand it woud feel more like a red wedding dress. Though I come from a country where wedding etiquette is a lot looser than in the USA so this might once again be a bit of a cultural thing.
I understand that you guys are confused about the wedding one. It's not the cut of dress really, but the color. Red is bold and bright and extremely noticable. Unless the bridal party is wearing it, it's kinda unappropriate for a guest, let alone an ex, to wear it. Plus the dress is extra dressy, so i can see how she mightve stood out. However, she was sent the invitation. 🤷🏾♀ But i agree that if the bride really didn't want her there, she should've left of her own accord. Otherwise, it shows some purpose in your need to stay.
On top of all that, people found where she bought the dress and it was absolutely a wedding dress. Marked and made for such. Just because she picked a different colour for it didn't make it any less a dress made for a bride.
wedding dress: not appropriate as the ex of the groom IMO. low cut/strapless and body hugging silhouette and RED - just overall too fancy and flashy to be a wedding guest.
One thing that I don't always like is when the US remakes a foreign movie, especially a horror one. So if you like the movie Quarantine, watch the original, that the dude didn't even give credit to, despite it being almost a rip-off. REC is the original title, and it's a Spanish movie. Very good one, though I think personally it got a bit strange with/after the 3rd one. It's a "first person" perspective movie, but it's very well made despite that (not as shaky as Cloverfield). Quarantine: Terminal is an original, considering the first movies content is almost screen for screen from REC, just in the US instead of Spain. So would highly recommend watching REC 1 and 2.
If the first bride didn't want the exe wife there then they should have not had the exe husband invite them. Like if kids getting there was an issue they should have planned more.
I the last story, I think the bride and OP are both the AH. The bride should have said I don’t like the dress please change but to uninvite her husbands guest is rude. The OP should have known not to wear a trained dress plus that red, I get annoyed when people say it’s the brides day but it’s both bride and grooms day. Ex was watching the kids there.
Saw maybe on the original post that a similar one was posted on true off my chest where that op also had all the kids wear red too with her and didn't care if she upset the ex's wife. It was definitely planned to cause a scene.
For the wedding story, I don't know if culture plays a part but to me, that dress is ok. I've been to so many weddings and people could totally were this and red is ok so nta for me...
The dress seems completely fine to me. Looks gorgeous, sure, but dressing up is kind of the point? But then again, it might be a cultural thing? (I'm german). Or I'm not enough into weddings? Not sure. Either way, I see how one could potentially wear that without any bad intentions. Could surely happen to me (if I was brave enough for a dress like that)
Ummm I agree the red dress seems like a perfectly fine dress for a wedding. People keep bringing up its marketed as wedding dress on Amazon or something but that's too bring traffic to it and who looks for a wedding dress on Amazon.
