Thanks! After making this vid I tried an inland waterways ship in Rotterdam with full wind and raised the wind simulation is actually pretty good, the vessel weathervaned into wind nicely.
I love simulators also. Wouldn't it be cool if they teamed up with a few big-name simulators into a world sim (flying, shipping, racing, etc all in one world). I'm sure we'll see it one day...hopefully.
It's normally the payment method that actually leads to better games. Compare most MMORPGs with Final Fantasy XIV for example which adopts the same method
Nicw video. The tug looks very lightweight here, bobbing around like a radio contolled toy boat in a pond. Lacks that realisttic heavy tugboat dead heavy brute force weightiness you see on the waters. Ship sim have nice looking boats. I had ship sim 2008, now the owner of Virtual Sailor NG. Prefer it over ship sim. Would not want to be montly subscribing to Nautis either.
I'm Happy to see some others in this market, although now with Iani rip.... I don't mind the subscription in this early development phase but I hope it goes more like the msfs model with paid add ons allowing a a creator community.
Great video! This looks very interesting but there's an important question: Do ships still bounce away when touching a dock/quay like they did in previous versions of the game?
Good question, this new sim uses advanced physics from a separate specialist company algoryx. Thier physics are close to simulation. Physics and far less of a game engine physics. So no crazy stuff I've noticed so far.
@@shipbuildingx That sounds promising. Since docking/mooring larger vessels is what appeals to me the most in games like this it was something of a mood killer to be flung away right at the end of a perfect maneuver. :)
@@shipbuildingx Thanks for the warning! No worries though, as I won't pay for it until it's finished and until I've seen a well made review (yours, perhaps?) that convinces me I'll be reasonably satisfied with the game. As you mention in the video there's no real competition in this market and that is something of a problem. Sure, there's Virtual Sailor NG but it's not really comparable.
This is the first video about this game by someone who has really knowledge about ships. Thanks for this great impression.

I hope at one point, it will be like flight sim with multiplayer (vatsim)

I would like to play this game but its a monthly payment, not a one time purchase which I personally dont like, but a great game and a great vid!

Great content! Is possible for tug boat make towing? I have throttles for my home based control using them in s bery realistic environment
ship to ship interaction is not yet available so towing and docking is not yet in the app. Both on the rd map though.

Im excited by this! Bow waves dont intrest me as much as realistic operations

@WeddingVegetables beware though, docking mechanics aren't yet in the sim. They recently added anchoring but docking is on the Rd map.

where can i buy it?
Hello, could you advise me on which controllers to buy in order to train for ASD tugboat operations as realistically as possible?
USB Ship controllers are hard to find, I can only find these, rather expensive ones. www.vrinsightshop.com/shop/step1.php?number=24&ckattempt=1
Anyone know if it will it have smaller boats like RIBs?
No plans as far as I know, the smallest is the pilot boat
Hello,
Can you steer azipods and RPM individually with the keyboard and are there any RPM indicators??
Yes
How much is it per month?
What about current and wind?
there is very detailed wind and current model, even includes suction effect when passing other vessels or channels.
This looks very promising.
and if its a monthly fee well no problem with me at all but get back to me
What laptop or pc would you recommend to run this?
The devs recommend an i5 and above and a gtx1060. I'd say make that a 1080 . Not done a detailed analysis of CPU vs. GPU needs.
Looks great and plays great until I saw there was a subscription
Yep, I let mine lapse as the updates are coming in too slowly. I'll resubscribe and create more content when there are major updates.
Ahoy :)
is it free??
There is a subscription cost per month.
