someone needs to develop a bridge between Run8, Nautis, Flight Simulator, and Euro/American Truck Simulator that will simulate the entire logistics chain.
Yeah, it would be cool to follow one shipment of raw materials, through shipment, refinement, shipment again, production, and delivery, across land, air, and sea without all the tycoon and company management bit.
Not if this also includes what would otherwise be DLC's too. I'd rather pay a subscription than have to buy every single DLC to then end up stopping using it.
Subscriptions for a Simulator/game are also a no go for me. There is a reason why 99% of all popular simulator games or games in general have a fixed price. In the end you pay lots of money for the game. And youre forced to keep paying if you want to play the game. Also the model with DLCs is way better. Youre not forced to pay/buy DLCs. With subscriptions you will have to pay. And imagine if the developer just raises the price...
Yes how dare anyone get paid for their work. This is available for home use, but it’s not meant to be a game. It’s meant to be a professional training tool, and those are never cheap.
Honestly I think most developers will start having their customers or clients actively pay x $ per hr so people who don’t like them only pay x amount x.5hr or the ladder a popular game would make x amount x200hr x 1 000 people
I have this and like the recent improvements and am excited about the development roadmap. Works great with a throttle quadrant controller and a racing wheel. Recommend triple monitors. I'm a fan of your Run8 vids!
I worked on those Inland ships for 3 years. The Engine is always rumbling. Depending on the structure of the ship. The whole ship can shake. You get used to it eventually. And yes its mundane. But the sights along the Rhein, Mhein are just beatiful. I would suggest the devs to connect it with NaviGraph and add AI ships according to satelite data. I would be really interested in playing this. Spice it up with some Multiplayer and you have a sure buyer. (Just like SimRail does)
Thanks for the overview SP. I didn't know something like this existed. I could see really getting into this, except that subscription model is not really consumer-friendly. But you did say this was not developed as a consumer product. Maritime Sim World, let's go /s.
I'm like you, I prefer simulation games over all others. This ship simulator shows promise. I would like to see a real-time weather engine built into it ( like what's available on flight sims ) so one can navigate the ships in real time with current conditions. Seriously considering this............thanks for the vid.
Thanks for showing the sim! Came here because I heard about it and got curious. While I'm not a fan of subscription models either, the price is low enough for me to at least try it out. It looks really good - the simulation aspect is the important part for me, too. I enjoy the fact it's a game about ship navigation without war or commercial fishing. That's really rare.
Pretty cool I check it out, hilarious you almost smacked that sea wall leaving the channel lol. You were talking away leaving and I’m thinking he better start turning that big bit
If I have to pay a sub, then I want I a 1:1 recreation of the earth. There's no excuse when people are paying a subscription now. Especially if flight simulators like X-Plane can do it, since they don't recreate land & water like flight sims have to do.
This looks great! However the pricing ist not nice for private use unless you're in training or something. Several years back I asked the company for a licence to run thier sim in a small museum for kids to play with and they wanted more that what we earned monthly with entry fees. I guess its just for the high paying professional sector.
This reminded me of Zusi 3, a railway simulator focused heavily on realism whilst sacrificing on visuals. It's German but I would like to see you have a go at it (you can find some cheap steam keys for it).
This looks really interesting! My wife and I are in the planning stages for the Great Loop, and not having a ton of boating experience, we're trying to learn as much as we can. We'll hire a training captain when the time comes, but this might be a fun addition. I don't guess it supports Tobii Eye Tracker 5?
Looks pretty good. One mistake, the bow thruster you used on the first run was the wrong way. As you turned to port the bow was being pushed to starboard. You should have pushed it to.port
It would be nice to have ship, train, driving, and flight sim all in one… where you can add real ship traffic, real air traffic, real train traffic, as AI in the Sim… That has been my dream
My one big question is, is there a single player Campaign? As in a career mode where your learn, pass certifications and progress? Or do you just hop into any ship and drive around aimlessly?
I would love to see another River Simulator 2012 again! Though a bit more modern and more like Euro/American Truck Simulator, that would be really cool. Such a shame these ship simulators are rare to find and often don't have much to do when it comes to goals. Got the same with the Flight Simulator, it's nice you can operate these machines but free roam only lasts for so long, I need actual goes, with Truck sim, Train sim, etc, I at least have a goal, especially with Truck sim where you build up your company eventually and get to buy better trucks, manage staff, etc. Would be awesome to see a ship simulator offer something like that.
Doing 12 kn rel in a port with a ferry xD ... It looks good though the lights are correct, the physics seem correct. Can you navigate with maps or is it just the raymarine-GPS in the corner?
If you want to see and play some real pretty looking boats, ships and yachts, check out MSFS Simulation! Play this all the time and you can sail across the world. 😊
I 'm a huge Simulation fan of sim's In your best review of this sim is it worth getting???? Now I have always wanted a good ship sim game to just relax and enjoy do you feel that this could be the best sim for that.... Also are you going to do anymore videos on this software????
I can only play in the weekends and have some other games I also would like to play so 1 day playing is for me the most I will get out of the monthly subscription. That makes it far to expensive
Really interesting video, I’m going to sign up for it. Just one downside… ‘if you will’ is a request usually preceded by an instruction that provides context. ‘Imagine’ if you will, ‘picture’ if you will. Just adding if you will means nothing. Irritating. Poor grammar.
Subscription only. Currently 5.95 EUR for the rest of your life, but when early access ends 9.95 EUR for the rest of your life. It would have to be aeons better than it currently is to warrant paying for it forever.
Im not renting games. I do not agree with that premise. Please, by the love of everything thats holy, do not support these concepts. Subscription based games are going to be the second death of this industry plus what if they no longer support it/ they go under? Access denied. What if you do something they dont like like for example mod the game? Access denied. Again, Do NOT support this, not as long as they dont switch to a purchase model. You dont want this to become a trend, noone wants to spend $90 worth of gaming subscriptions EACH MONTH in addition to $30 for netflix and spotify.
this game has been in development ever since shipsim "sim" being very questionable here was scrapped. so 15 years? lol. and its in EA now? LOL. dont hold your breath
Same problems/lack of content that has kept me from buying. - Zero economy/objectives - No Sim free-roam - Poor physics simulation - Zero crew management - No cockpit interaction - Poor graphics - No weather systems - Lack of AI traffic - Anything Dynamic - Etc... A complete lack of implemented, responsive and interconnected systems make for a lackluster experience that begs to ask, is this built to expand into a true simulator? Without any apparent underlying systems, I fail to see what the true appeal will be once a competitor that addresses these problems is on the market.
someone needs to develop a bridge between Run8, Nautis, Flight Simulator, and Euro/American Truck Simulator that will simulate the entire logistics chain.
I'd buy that. Also needs Transport Tycoon thrown in there so we can set up and operate our own logistics chanins.
Yeah, it would be cool to follow one shipment of raw materials, through shipment, refinement, shipment again, production, and delivery, across land, air, and sea without all the tycoon and company management bit.
and id like a house on mars but it aint happening
.@johndonovan7018 there is nothing preventing it from happening. Connecting API's is not an insurmountable task
those who would have the budget won´t put that into such a niche. I have similar dreams, but nothing will ever be done that comes close.
Stopped the vid the second you said "monthly fee" as that is preposterous.

It would be sweet if they had historic ships like the Edmund Fitzgerald or Carl D. Bradley
Some great lakes operations would be fantastic in this
Who?
for the record, Ship Simulator Extremes is still on the steam market place, and ti was Vstep/Paradox Interactive.
I had a lot of fun with Ship Simulator Extremes and looked forward to this, but don't play enough to justify the subscription cost of Nautis Home
What would give it longevity is more options for the freeroam/scenarios and ofc MP (which i think I've seen the team discussed on their forum)
Thank you! I been looking for a ship sim since the old ship simulator from years ago.
Thanks for the overview SP. I didn't know something like this existed. I could see really getting into this, except that subscription model is not really consumer-friendly. But you did say this was not developed as a consumer product. Maritime Sim World, let's go /s.
As a big time sim game player, this game actually looks really good
Definitely wanna get this! Hope for New York they add the Staten Island Ferry

Dude if that water effect was in my Silent Hunter game I'd probably play it more often. That is some jaunty ass water right there.
When sim water looks better than real water

For anyone who knows: Will there be a worldwide free roam in this like there was in Ship Sim extremes?
Thanks for showing this. would like if it allowed for a world map where you could plot a course around the World to various ports.
This looks really interesting! My wife and I are in the planning stages for the Great Loop, and not having a ton of boating experience, we're trying to learn as much as we can. We'll hire a training captain when the time comes, but this might be a fun addition.

Wow I’ve been waiting a long time for a proper Martinez simulator
This is awesome. I am a fan of any accurate simulation, thanks for sharing!
I'm a chief officer and use it for perfecting my skills.

I worked at V-Step as an intern years and years ago. Good to see they're still around and making stuff :)
Navionics free chart viewer is quite decent too.
Thx for the tip
You used the bowthruster the wrong way...
Looks very nice but subscription is a hard no from me I'm afraid. If that changes in the future would certainly reconsider.

I'm interested in anything that puts me in a vessel and out in the elements. Haven't found it yet for ships though. Maybe this will be the one.
They gotta work on the ship deck i think before i could take it realistically.
My one big question is, is there a single player Campaign? As in a career mode where your learn, pass certifications and progress? Or do you just hop into any ship and drive around aimlessly?
Not currently as far as im aware. The pre set scenarios and free roam. They add more content every few mo it seems
Hypothetically speaking, would you say the scenarios take long enough to force somebody to stay home from going to Target every single weekend?
Lol. For sure, most of em take longer than a regional flight, including TSA and all the other bs that goes w flying 😆
@@schnauzahpowahz I'm in!
a subscription for a niche sim game. lmao. NEXTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTT

Need something like FSEconomy.
I hope it can include Boeing 929 Jetfoil, SRN4 hovercraft, SS United State, TT Seawise Giant and Hong Kong to Macau route, Busan to Fukuoka route.

So what organizations actually use this as a training tool?
Maybe I'm missing something, but how does a game being Early-Access for a whole year qualify as a milestone?
I really want to use it but it doesn't let me pay!! I have money and the bank doesn't know why.
I can only play in the weekends and have some other games I also would like to play so 1 day playing is for me the most I will get out of the monthly subscription. That makes it far to expensive

I need a ship sim on PS5!
Big no for me for paying a monthly fee for a sim, I’ll stick with DCS and ATS thank you😊
why would they make it a monthly sub
Wow really thought VSTEP is dead after SS Extremes
VR compatible?
monthly subscription? No chance
heck yeah, shit loos sickk

aint much different to their old old ship sim not much improvement at all and load times are still slow
