- Greetings!
In this episode of my History of Dollhouse Series, I am sharing with you what I have found out about the most beautiful, and possibly the most famous dollhouse…Queen Mary’s Doll’s House.
In Part 1, I talk about the beginnings of the House, its designers, artists, and some of the contributors. I also delve into the King’s and Queen’s Suites as well as the Queen’s Sitting Room and the Day Nursery and all the fun things that can be found there!

I make miniatures and am obsessed with all things small. I adore my dollshouse and before I die I would LOVE to see this house...I often come and watch the videos of Marys dollhouse. Its just awesome❤
I am happy to be a part of your happiness! 🤗
I build two dolls houses for my daughter, victoriana style and eduwardian style. I was working on both the same time. Love it and my daughter was involved in the project. It was in 1994 she was 10 years old. Now she is 40 years old.
Both of them scales 1:12

Thank you so much-so many pics and items I’ve never seen before. Back in the early 80s, I think it was Time magazine that did a several page spread on this house and I was just obsessed 😍
I am happy to hear that. Glad it brought back fond memories for you! Thank you! 🤗🤗
It was National Geographic Magazine
All this incredible beauty, time put forth, Love to one person, artists used, architecture, humor...makes me cry with joy. It is just so indescribable. I just can't imagine such a feat. Thanks for sharing such a Masterpiece.

so cool looking, very different from all the bland monotone modern houses
I agree! Thank you for watching!
Очень трогательно, мило и красиво. Спасибо за прекрасный рассказ, всё понятно! С удовольствием посмотрю вторую часть.
Спасибо! Их было весело создавать!
I really enjoyed it, thanks so much. Margaret Redmond from Ireland
I'm glad you enjoyed it! 🤗🤗
You should look into “Titanias Palads”, it is as huge as this one, and it have the moste cute history, it now belongs to Legoland Denmark, and for the time it stands in “egeskov slot” and just as beautiful,, it is Titanias palads there made me start working with miniature as a kid
Thank you for the suggestion! I'll look into it! ❤
And Tara's palace😁
it always strikes me how historians try to connect this to the ordinary man. it is beautiful and wonderful, but one must recognize that when this was designed and made, the working class lacked all the things you see in this house. Everyone who contributed to it, gave nothing to the working class, who kept the wealthy rich. They lived in poverty and misery, children lacked care, clothing, clean water, food, education and toys. So it is important to view it for what it is, rich people wanting to please the monarchy. This has nothing to do with social development, because it never touched them
I appreciate what you have to say. I never really thought about that aspect of this. Thank you!

I am a historian myself and often note these things.
That said it was nice to watch, huge fan of dolls houses
I'm glad you liked it.
For the record, I'm not a historian as much as I am a person interested in historical items and want to share those items with others. 🤔🤔😀
@@dolfinmagikpro good for you, great work
It’s a shame that, having taken so much care over this (which is interesting and has a nice level of detail), the narrator couldn’t have checked the pronunciation of names such as Lutyens, Jekyll and Inigo. But it’s a nice little video.
Glad you liked it.
I appreciate the critique! 😊
@@dolfinmagikpro I really did. What an enterprising thing to do, and very much appreciated.
This is cool....on par with Colleen Moore's Castle Dollhouse in the USA.
Glad you like it!
Thank you for watching!
Is there a video of it too?
@@missg.5940 Yes, I believe so....last I heard it was restored and donated to a museum here in the U.S---it was a CBS news coverage of it that gave a brief (but very cool) tour. Wiki also has an article on it.
People maintaining it MUST wear gloves.
Wow she must of been lucky
Or well-loved! 😉
Oh dear me..salon not saloon!😮
Saloon is what they called it on the website. I thought it was odd, too! 😃
