I tried this recipe for my dog and omg thank you so much he loves it. I tried like 4 different foods and he just doesn’t seem to like any. And this he eats within seconds saving me my coins thank you.
@@golfinguna even the most expensive dog food is not healthy either because of how they make it and if you are only feeding your dog store bought food and you are not giving them any type of vitamins or probiotics. Your dog is so so cute!! Food looks so awesome. Just add a little turmeric while cooking the meat. Turmeric is an excellent antioxidant and helps to keep the joints healthy. Also instead of dumping the vegetable water, cook the rice in it. That way all the nutrition of the veggies is retained and the dog gets it.
Thanks for your suggestions but teddy is not a fan of rice . He only eats it on an upset stomach . The recipe has been really good to him so far so I’ll hold off on any changes right now.
I currently have my dogs one is a Chihuahua he’s eight years old and one is a Chihuahua dachshund cross known as a Chiweenie both on the Farmer’s dog it is a pretty expensive meal service however I’m switching them over to the DIY E program where I get the recipes and make it at home myself and they sent me a nutrient mix that I put into their dog food to make sure they get all the nutrients and vitamins that they need into their food as well. Thank you so much for sharing this video and as I said down below be careful using peas and keep some research on it as well as I’ve been told that it does possibly lead to heart issues and some dogs.
I have a Coton de Tulear, I got her at 10 weeks. I weaned her off of that store-bought food immediately and already introduced her to cooked Table food. She is now 13 1/2 months old and three has been doing amazing on it. One day I couldn’t get to the store and I gave her some dry dog food and she wouldn’t eat it. She has a healthy coat and she’s very happy. I also cook her food by Coconut oil and I add turmeric rosemary and thyme to all her food because they’re medicinal. I gave her seamoss for five days and I’ll take a break for five days and so forth. I also add pumpkin, eggs and I drop the egg shells for calcium and I put that in her food as well.
Thanks so much for sharing this video. I too have the same issue with my Pitbull and he is older and is stomach is sensitive. I started making is food too and he loves it. I will be trying your recipe.
Thank you for your recipe! I cook for my little guy, but he will only eat it if it's freshly cooked. In the past, I would make a batch, put some in the fridge, some in the freezer, but he won't touch it. So, I'm cooking every day. That's okay, I don't mind. I do add some homemade chicken broth to make the food a little more wet, which he likes, and it provides more hydration. Thanks again for your video!!
Instant por it is the best creation I cook for my dog in there and food taste so much better than crockpot or regular pots. Try it! I use chicken legs chiken breast carrots squash zuchini blueberries and spinach and when its done I put a teaspoon of coconut oil and give her supplement daily.
If you want something green for your dog either switch to green beans or broccoli both have a very good amount of fiber in them and if you look at peas they sometimes are related to heart issues with dogs I don’t ever ever feed my dogs peas once I found this out. But my dogs do love brussels sprouts and broccoli and green beans
Teddy was about to eat them fangers up during the taste test 😂. Thank you for sharing your journey and recipe. My puppy was been on Purina Probiotics and has not shown a great deal of improvement after being on the prescription digestive food.
Oh poor Teddy I’m so glad he’s doing better. I to make my own food. I’mI’m watching this video as if I don’t but what caught my attention is another melanin woman making her fur babies food.
I made this for the first time tonight. Thank you for the recipe. My only problem is one hour a 250 and the vegetables were still hard as a rock. I had to cover it all and turn up the heat to 350 for another 45 minutes. The carrots are still a little hard but maybe they will soften more as the mixture cools. My dog’s vet also prescribed Science Diet low fat I/D. What a ripoff for a fairly small can of stew that heavily processed ingredients. I love this because I was able to make basically a MUCH better stew out of organic ingredients. I see other people were talking about peas and bone powder. I didn’t see these items in the written recipe anywhere. Should I have added them? Thanks.
I used the bone meal powder to add calcium to his diet . It’s great for his bones and joints as he ages . My dog loves peas and I really wanted to incorporate a green veggie . Add a green your pup likes doesn’t necessarily have to be peas . Some dogs like broccoli etc
Thank you so much for this! I too have a shih tsu but she’s a senior 14 years old - loved her whole hearted grain free petco brand food, I would put a teaspoon of grain food from time to time, until one day last month she had bad diarrhea for about six days, took her to vet, a big vet bill later she was prescribed hills prescription diet food & it’s really expensive & with COVID shipping problems not always available at stores. Do you know why this hills id food is vet prescription only? Because the vet gets credit $$ by the company for prescribing it to you. And it’s made with global meat byproducts! Doesn’t seem very wholesome. At first she ate it up for about one month. Today she is tired of it & won’t eat much of it but still loves her snacks. So I know she is hungry for something else. I will have to try this recipe. What about putting in some ground up raw kale or spinach? Thanks again 🙏🏼💕🙏🏼
I am currently giving my 9# poodle 2.5 mg of Pepcid ac about 30 minutes to 1 hour before each feeding (hidden in a treat ) only twice a day. I have to cut a 10 mg. Hill Science is not real food it is processed food that really doesn't do anything positive for any type of dog's diet or issues. All allergies are food-related or environment-related. Check out RAW diets or pre-cooked RAW diets. Also, rice (any kind) attributes to inflammation in their system as well. Diets that are grain-free are best with whole real proteins.
Looks great, and Teddy is adorable! My only concern is dumping the hot sweet potatoes & then later the completed food that's still hot, into plastic containers. Some of the plastic may leach into the food if it melts... I'd look for glass containers.
I usually wait for the food to cool , video purposes I didn’t . The plastic is BPA free and microwave safe . It’s way more convenient than stacking dozens of glass containers

Hello, how do you know how much to give your pet for the day? I have a 26 pound frenchie and would love to try this for him as he was diagnosed with IBD.
Hey thanks for watching! My dog is 14 pounds and after consulting with a vet tech they recommended that I give him one cup (8pz) of homemade food a day along with a bowl of sensitive grain free dry food sitting out throughout the day in case he needs something to munch on .,.usually he eats all of the wet food that I make and munches on the dry food whenever he gets hungry in the middle of night 🤣! he also gets a snack in the morning and in the evening so that pretty much hold him over for the day. If your dog is 26 pounds I would recommend maybe giving him 12 ounces of food but also have another option for him throughout the day in case he gets hungry but if you do not want to mix dry food and homemade food I recommend you giving him a cup in the mornings and a cup in the evenings
I added sweet potato which is a nutritious carb. But other than that my dog hates all carbs ! He just won’t eat it . I give him plain white rice when he is having stomach issues tho

I added sweet potato which is a nutritious carb. But other than that my dog hates all carbs ! He just won’t eat it . I give him plain white rice when he is having stomach issues tho
My dog vomits every time I try to give him rice. He likes it but his sensitive stomach does not

I’m def gonna go to the store right now and make this. My shih tzu is having the exact same issues. Do you think it would be ok to give it to him right away or give a little at a time to not cause stomach upset?
I gave teddy right away . No stomach upset but dog are like ppl , we are all different so try whatever you think will be best for your fur baby
So no brown rice?
Can use brocoli instead of peas ?
Will try your way. THANKS.
My dog hates rice lol , I usually give him white rice when he has diarrhea ( but that hasn’t happen in a while ) my dog Also hates broccoli so it depends on their preference
Use green beans if they don’t like peas
Same with my dog. I changed his diet to homecooked meals then his vomitting and diarrhea stopped
Do you freeze them ?? Or put them in the fridge ?? Won’t they go bad?
I freeze most of them and keep two unfrozen in fridge . Everytime I feed him on serving , I move a frozen serving from freezer to fridge so it can safely defrost overnight for the next day
Where did you get the bone meal Powder from ?? And the name ??? Can you Substitute the powder for the Broth?
I’m not sure about the substitution aspect but I did get the bone powder from Amazon
Did you try any other meats before turkey?
I would try chicken
Rice is good for dogs with sensitive stomach?
White rice is good when they are experiencing diarrhea
He have acid reflux and sometimes he vomit yellow in mornings but after he act normal
